The M-1 is a commercial juice press built specifically for juice on-demand. No longer do you or your customers have
to choose between “fresh” or “cold-pressed”—now there can be both. The first juice press that requires no cleaning

Section 1: Safety Precautions
DANGER: This machine is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the machine by a person responsible for their safety.
DANGER: Never place hands, body parts, clothing, hair or any foreign object in the machine while it is
operating. Failure to do so can result in bodily harm, or damage to the machine.
WARNING: Discontinue use immediately and have machine serviced if any components are damaged or
malfunctioning to avoid risk of personal injury and damage to the machine.
WARNING: Never tamper with or override any of the safety features of the machine, including the Hopper
Door. Tampering with safety features can result in unsafe operating conditions and can result in harm to the
operator.
WARNING: Be aware of all pinch points and moving parts, and take precautions to keep loose clothing, hair, or
foreign objects away from them to avoid personal injury and damage to the machine.
WARNING: Disconnect all power before performing maintenance to avoid risk of serious electric shock and
mechanical hazards.
WARNING: Always check with your local health department regarding procedures required to ensure proper
cleaning and sanitation in order to avoid serious food borne illness to consumers. For the US: FDA.gov/food.
CAUTION: Only place machine on a sturdy counter, table, or cart with locked casters.

Section 2: Unpacking
Inspect the shipping container of your new M-1 prior to opening. Ensure it is free of any handling damage that may
have occurred during shipping. Notify the shipping carrier of any damage to the shipping container as soon as it is
received.
Release the four plastic clips from the base of the shipping container by
pinching the sides together and pulling out.
Lift the outer box directly up.
Remove the top box.
Remove the storyboard box.
Unfasten the Velcro® strap that is over the machine.
Remove the FreshFilter® Press Bags, Toolkit, and any other loose items.
Lift machine away from the shipping container base and onto the counter, table, or cart where it is intended to be
used. Machine should be lifted by a minimum of two people. One person can lift from underneath the
front two feet, and one person can lift from the rear two feet.
We recommend cleaning all parts that will be in contact with food prior to its first use. The cleaning procedure is
located in section 7 of this manual.
Prior to applying any electrical power to the equipment, complete all of the setup steps outlined in Section 4.
Review the enclosed parts list on the following page. Inspect all enclosed parts carefully and make sure that there
are no parts missing. If any parts are missing or damaged please contact Goodnature.

Attach Hopper Door to the Hopper
Base by inserting the Hopper Door
knobs into the cutouts on the Hopper
Base, holding completely open.
Insert the Pusher all the way into
the Hopper, the Pusher Handle is
tapered in order to allow the hopper
door to open and close with the
Pusher installed all the way into
the Hopper. Close the Hopper Door.
With the Grinder Motor Housing
in the UP position, place the
assembled ReadyGrind™ Kit onto
the four posts of Grinder Motor
Housing, and twist clockwise to
lock.
Position the Grinder Blade onto the
Hopper Base.
Position Hopper on the Hopper
Base by aligning the Hopper
slightly oset from the Hopper
Base so that the cutouts line up
with the tabs on the Hopper Base,
twist clockwise on Hopper Base
until it locks into place.

Insert the Press
Rack into the Press
Chamber. The Press
Rack will fold to allow
alignment of the
bottom tab with the
cutout in the bottom
left of the Press
Chamber.
Insert the Moving
Platen into the Press
Chamber with the
draining grooves facing
forward towards the
front of the press and
with the bill on top.
Place the assembled Press
Kit into the press area of the
machine. The Press Chamber
should rest on top of the Fixed
Platen and the side rails of
the press. Slide the Moving
Platen to the back of the Press
Chamber.
Move the Drip Tray into
position under the press area of
the machine. It will stop when it
makes contact with the front of
the machine.

CAUTION: Only press produce that has been shredded. Never attempt
to press unshredded produce, pits, or large seeds, as doing so can put
uneven loading on the machine and cause damage.

CONTROLS
There are three buttons on the right side of the machine that are used to operate the grinder and press. These buttons are
GRIND, PRESS and STOP.
There are six lights on the button panel:
Three functional lights next to each button that will illuminate during operation.
Three safety indicator lights at the bottom of the Button Panel.
Hopper Door is closed and the“Hopper Door Safety” is engaged.
Grinder is lowered into the DOWN position and the “Grinder Safety” is engaged.
Press Kit is properly installed and the “Chamber Safety” is engaged.

GRIND
PRESS
STOP
Pressing GRIND will start the grind cycle.
Press the GRIND button a second time to stop the grind cycle. Alternatively, the STOP button can be pressed to stop
the grinder.
When the Hopper Door is opened to add produce during the cycle, the grinder will come to a stop automatically and the
GRIND light will flash. The grind cycle will restart automatically once the door is closed.
A solid illuminated GRIND light means that the Grinder Blade is spinning.
Pushing the PRESS button starts the pressing cycle. It is intended for making a single serving of juice, 1 - 2.5 lb of
produce, depending on the recipe.
The pressing cycle will take roughly 90 seconds. At the end of the press cycle, the press will automatically relieve
pressure and the press rod will retract into the machine.
To cancel a press cycle use the PRESS or STOP buttons. This will start a retract of the press rod and cancel the
current press cycle.
Pressing the STOP button while the grinder is running will turn o the grinder.
Pressing the STOP button once during any press cycle or while the machine is idle and powered on will relieve any
pressure and retract the press rod.
If the hopper door is open for more than 45 seconds or the Grinder runs without interruption, the grind cycle will
cancel and the light will no longer be illuminated.
Use the
GRIND
button to stop the grinder before opening Hopper Door when the Hopper is full.

PRE-OPERATION CHECKS
Ensure the ReadyGrind™ Kit and the Press Kit are properly assembled according to Section 4: Setup
Check that the press rod is fully retracted into the machine (this can be done by powering the machine on and pressing
the STOP button).
Check that the Moving Platen is pushed snugly to the back of the Press Chamber.
Recipe is prepared, 1-2.5 lb of produce, depending on your recipe.
TROUBLESHOOTING TIP:
If the grinder does not start and the Hopper Door safety indicator light
at the bottom left of the button panel is blinking then open the Hopper
Door and then close it. The Hopper Door safety indicator light should
turn on and be solidly illuminated. Press the GRIND button to start a
grind cycle.

Plug the M-1 Power Cord into the
receptacle located on the back of the
machine. With the machine power
switch in the OFF ( O ) position, plug
the power cord into a wall outlet.
Check that all three bottom lights
on the Button Panel are illuminated.
This indicates that all three safeties
are in the correct position.
Push the power switch to the ON
( I ) position. You will hear the
fan turn on once the machine has
power.
Push the GRIND button to turn on
the grinder.
Place an empty cup on the
Drip Tray.
Pull the Pusher out until it
stops and rest the Pusher in
the notch on the Hopper as
shown.

Fill the Hopper, up to 2/3 full, with
the desired produce.
Once grinding is complete, push the
GRIND or STOP button to turn o
the grinder.
Close the Hopper Door by lowering
the Pusher. Be sure the Hopper
Door is completely closed.
Before starting the press cycle,
check to make sure the press bag is
evenly filled and is not over-filled.
Push the PRESS button to begin the
press cycle.
Place one hand on the Hopper
Door applying firm pressure,
and with the other hand, apply
gentle pressure to the Pusher.
The produce will grind slowly
into the press bag. Some
vibration in the grinder and
Pusher is normal. Continue
grinding produce until the
Hopper is empty.
Pro Tips:
If it seems that the Pusher
is not making any progress,
twist the pusher clockwise and
counterclockwise until the
blockage is cleared.
At the end of the grind cycle,
twist the pusher clockwise, 1-2
full turns. This will ensure that
the Hopper is cleared of produce.

The press will stop
automatically when the cycle is
finished, about 90 seconds. At
the end of the cycle, move the
grinder to the UP position, then
push the moving platen back
away from the press bag filled
with pulp and remove the press
bag from the press chamber.
Pro Tip:
If you are testing a recipe for
the first time, have an extra cup
or container on hand and be
prepared to catch any possible
overflow.
Your juice is ready to serve!
When you are finished, turn the
power switch to the OFF (O)
position.
If switching quickly to a new
recipe, swap out ReadyGrind™ Kit
with a clean one, replace the press
bag, and you are ready to go.
