Installation
Disassembly
WARNING
To
reduce the risk of serious injury whenever you
are instructed to relieve pressure, always follow the
Pressure Relief Procedure
in your separate pump
and ram manuals.
1.
Relieve the pressure.
2.
Disconnect the air assist hose from the swivel el
-
bow (A). See Fig. 1.
3.
Disconnect the air tube from the tube fitting (B).
Unscrew the tube fitting from the tee (C). Keep the
tube fitting (B) for reassembly
.
4.
Remove the tee (C), valve (D), and elbow (A) from
the air control assembly
. Discard these parts.

Installing the 239–139 Conversion Kit
1. Install
the tee (1), adapter (2), control valve (3),
and swivel (4) as shown in Fig. 2.
2.
Reinstall the tube fitting (B) in the tee (1).
3.
Reconnect the air tube to the tube fitting (B).
4.
Reconnect the free end of the air assist hose to
the swivel (4).
5.
When changing drums, operate the control valve
(3) as explained on page 3.

Operation
Changing Drums
WARNING

ARTS HAZARD
Moving parts can pinch or amputate your
fingers. When the pump is operating and
when raising or lowering the ram, keep
your fingers and hands away from the pump intake,
ram plate, and lip of the drum.
After conversion, the ram air controls operate dif
ferent-
ly. T
o change a drum, use this procedure instead of the
one given in your ram manual.
1.
Stop the pump. Close the pump air bleed valve.
2.
Before raising the ram plate, locate the pushbutton
on the control valve (3). See Fig. 2.
3.
Set the director valve (E) to UP to raise the ram
plate. At the same time, carefully equalize the
pressure in the drum by operating the air release
valve.
4.
Raise the ram plate until it is completely out of the
drum.
5.
Remove the empty drum.
6.
Inspect the ram plate and, if necessary
, remove
any remaining material or material build-up.
7.
Place a full drum on the ram base.
8.
Lower the ram and adjust the position of the drum
relative to the ram plate, as explained in your ram
manual.

WARRANTY
Graco
warrants all equipment listed in this manual which is manufactured by Graco and bearing its name to be free from defects
in material and workmanship on the date of sale by an authorized Graco distributor to the original purchaser for use. Graco will,
for a period of twelve months from the date of sale, repair or replace any part of the equipment determined by Graco to be defec
-
tive. This warranty applies only when the equipment is installed, operated and maintained in accordance with Graco’
s written rec-
ommendations.
This warranty does not cover
, and Graco shall not be liable for general wear and tear
, or any malfunction, damage or wear
caused by faulty installation, misapplication, abrasion, corrosion, inadequate or improper maintenance, negligence, accident,
tampering, or substitution of non-Graco component parts. Nor shall Graco be liable for malfunction, damage or wear caused by
the incompatibility of Graco equipment with structures, accessories, equipment or materials not supplied by Graco, or the im
-
proper design, manufacture, installation, operation or maintenance of structures, accessories, equipment or materials not sup
-
plied by Graco.
This warranty is conditioned upon the prepaid return of the equipment claimed to be defective to an authorized Graco distributor
for verification of the claimed defect. If the claimed defect is verified, Graco will repair or replace free of charge any defective
parts. The equipment will be returned to the original purchaser transportation prepaid. If inspection of the equipment does not
disclose any defect in material or workmanship, repairs will be made at a reasonable charge, which charges may include the
costs of parts, labor
, and transportation.
THIS WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE, AND IS IN LIEU OF ANY OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED,
INCLUDING
BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PUR-
POSE.

s sole obligation and buyer

s sole remedy for any breach of warranty shall be as set forth above. The buyer agrees that no
other
remedy (including, but not limited
to, incidental or consequential damages for lost profits, lost sales, injury to person or prop

erty
, or any other incidental or consequential loss) shall be available. Any action for breach of warranty must be brought within two
(2)
years of the date of sale.

These items sold, but not manufactured by Graco (such as electric motors,
switches, hose, etc.) are subject to the warranty
