Since there is a range of 1-5V, please try scaling and unit conversion with EU settings according to the sensor you

1. Sending settings for G-mail
To send e-mails via Gmail sending server with the e-mail sending function of the target model, please make the
following settings and confirmations.
※ Gmail account is required.
※ Make sure that the target device is connected to the Internet via Ethernet or wireless LAN.
※ Set the time to the current time in advance.

1. What is the sampling rate when connected to GL100-WL?
Even if the optional wireless LAN unit is installed and connected to the GL100-WL, the sampling interval
limitation will not change.
However, the maximum sampling interval of the GL100-WL is 500ms, so if the sampling interval is faster than
500ms, the data will be updated every 500ms and the same data will be lined up until it is updated. Depending
on the wireless environment, it may not be possible to update the data in 500ms. In such a case, please slow
down the sampling interval.
Also, when the wireless connection is disconnected, the same data will continue. In such a case, please improve
the wireless environment.
2. Is analog voltage input is available for differential input?
All channels are available for differential inputs. The range can be set for each channel individually.
3. What kind of measurement is the logic input used for?
It is for recording the sequence of a relay circuit. When a signal is input, it is recorded as an on/off square wave.
※ The optional input/output cable for GL is required for logic input.
4. Is it possible to measure current (4-20mA)?
It can be measured by using a shunt resistor to convert the voltage.
In the case of 4-20mA, it can be converted to 1-5V by using a 250Ω shunt resistor.
There is a range of 1-5V, so please use the EU setting to perform scaling and unit conversion according to the
sensor you are using.
※ A 250Ω shunt resistor (B-551-10) is available as an option, so please contact your local distributor.
5. Is it possible to measure the flow rate by pulse input?
It is possible.
4 channels of pulses can be input, each of which can be set to either RPM, totalizer, or instantaneous;
EU settings are also supported, so scaling and unit conversion are also possible.

The resolution for each range is shown below.

SDHC type and up to 32GB is available. However, the maximum size of one file is 2GB and there is
Relay capture function that switches files every 2GB.
※ Formatting must be done in FAT32 format.

8.5V to 24V DC (maximum 26.4V).
※ When charging the built-in battery, the DC voltage must be approximately 16V or higher to charge the

Maximum voltage is up to 24V.

It is Open collector output.
The maximum specification of the transistor used as output

15. Is it possible to use multiple humidity sensors?
The optional humidity sensor (B-530) requires a power supply and only one channel can be taken directly
from the logger itself.
If multiple humidity sensors are to be connected, the optional humidity sensor power supply box (B-542) is
required.
Power to the humidity sensor power box is supplied from the humidity sensor power jack on the main unit,
so AC power is not required.
16.What is the temperature that can be measured with K-type thermocouples?
Please refer the following table.
17. What is the standard and transmission distance of the wireless LAN option (B-568)?
EEE802.11b/g/n. The communication distance is about 40m in an obstacle-free environment.
It depends on the environment in which it is used.
18.Is it possible to expand to more than 10 channels?
No. The maximum number of channels in the main unit is 10. If you wish to have more channels, please consider a
higher model such as GL840.
The application software for PC (GL100_240_840-APS) enables measurement of up to 10 units (in the case of GL240
only) by using a PC and a USB hub.
The application software for PC (GL100_240_840-APS), by using multiple GL240 units in the same recording group,
measurement result files can be obtained in a single file in addition to individual files.

19.What is the fastest sampling interval?
GL240 uses photomos relay scanning system, so the sampling cycle becomes slower as the number of
channels used increases.
The following table shows the number of channels, sampling interval, and sampling interval at which the
digital filter is enabled.
20. What type of filter is used in GL240?
GL240 uses moving average filter.
It is the average value of the set number of samples. If the sampling interval is longer than 5 seconds, the
value will be the average of the data acquired by sub-sampling (5 seconds).
For moving average filter setting, you can select a value from "Off, 2, 5, 10, 20, and 40" in the "AMP" settings.
The other function is a digital filter, but there is no On/Off setting for this filter, and the software
automatically removes noise from the AC power supply according to the AC power frequency setting in the
GL240.
If the voltage or temperature display is not stable, set the sampling interval at which the digital filter is
enabled.
※ 1 The number of measurement channels is the number of channels for which the terminal input
setting is set to something other than Off.
(When connected to GL100-WL, the sensor channel of GL100-WL is not included. ）
※ 2. Sampling intervals of 10, 20, and 50ms cannot be recorded when temperature settings.

1. How long does the battery last?
The battery life is about 7 hours in screen-saver mode and about 6 hours in LCD mode.
※ The only battery that can be used with the GL240 is the B-569. Both times are based on using a new
battery pack, recording to an SD memory card at 1-second sampling intervals, and an environment of +25°C.
2.Is it possible to charge the battery when embedding the main unit?
By connecting the AC adapter, the battery can be charged whether the main unit is on or off.
However, since the temperature is monitored, charging may not be possible depending on the usage
environment.
・ Depending on the internal temperature of the device, it may not start charging, However, it will
automatically start charging when the temperature of the device drops.
・ Even if the temperature environment is within the specification range, the product may not start
charging. In this case, turn on the screen saver function or turn off the power before charging.
・ Operating environment AC driving: 0 to 45°C, battery driving: 0 to 40°C, battery charging: 15 to 35°C
Approximate charging time: Approx. 4.5 hours
※ When charging an empty battery with GL240, the battery will be charged to 100%, but when charging

The battery can be recharged to 100% by unplugging and plugging in the AC adapter or unplugging and

4.How to measure the temperature with a resistance thermometer?
Temperature measurement using a resistance thermometer is not supported by GL240, so please consider to
use the High-end model GL840.
5.What are the wireless LAN mode and security settings which is available with the wireless LAN option
(B-568)?
The wireless LAN modes that can be set with the wireless LAN option (B-568) are "Off", "Access Point" (GL240 will be
set as the parent unit), and "Station" (GL240 will be set as the child unit).
The security settings that can be set with the wireless LAN option (B-568) are WEP64, WEP128, and WPA-PSK/WPA2-
PSK (TKIP/AES).
6.Can I connect to GL100-WL when GL240 operates as an access point (master unit) in wireless LAN mode?
When operating as an access point (master unit), it is possible to connect one GL100-WL and also connect to more
smart devices. However, when it is connected to the GL100-WL, cannot connect to the PC via wireless LAN

7.Can I connect to GL100-WL when GL240 operates as a station (child unit) in wireless LAN mode?
When it operates as a station (remote unit), cannot use with GL100-WL.
Wireless LAN connection with PC and simultaneous connection of smart devices are available.

In the E-mail sending setting, you can send notification settings information (alarm, low battery, low
communication strength, SD memory card free space (only during recording)). Also, if you set the periodical

9.How to display the data in X-Y format?
It is possible to display X-Y between cursors on the playback screen of recorded data by using the
standard application software (GL100_240_840-APS).
10.How to adjust the brightness of the screen?
The [LCD Brightness] setting is in the [OTHER].
Enable to adjust in three levels. The default setting is the brightest..
11.Is there a solution if the key is locked during remote operation?
When the PC is connected, the key does not work. Please disconnect the communication and press the [QUIT] key.
12."End Data Recording" screen keep appearing after the recording is completed.
That screen is displayed in the end-of-recording state when a stop-side trigger occurs.
Press the [START/STOP] key and start free running to solve this problem.
13.How to display the results of calculations in real time?
Real-time calculation on the main unit can be performed for inter-channel calculation and statistical
calculation (maximum, minimum, peak, effective value, and average value).
The inter-channel calculation allows calculation
（＋、－、 × 、／） and scaling
（ /1000000 、 /1000 、 ×1 、 ×1000 、 ×1000000 ） between two set channels.
The results of inter-channel operations are recorded as data.
Statistical calculations can be performed on the average, maximum, minimum, peak, and running
values from the time the power is turned on or the recording is started to the present time.
The calculation result is displayed on the digital + statistical calculation screen. It is displayed by
switching to the digital screen with the [DISP] key.
The calculation starts when the power is turned on, and is cleared once when the [QUIT] key is pressed
or the [START/STOP] key is pressed to start measurement.
Please note that the results of statistical calculations will not be included in the data.

14.Is it possible to input a negative voltage to the analog input voltage?
It is described in the measurement range of analog voltage input.In the case of the 20mV range, possible
to measure -20mV to +20mV.
15.What is the reason why it is not triggered even if input signal is settled input setting value?
The combination of the trigger setting of GL240 has level and edge. If the setting is edge, the condition will not
be met once, and if the condition is met after that, it will be considered as satisfied.
16.Why does the trigger start before the trigger level is exceeded?
The combination of the trigger setting of this unit has level and edge, and when the setting is level, it becomes level
operation and Judgment is made based on whether the level is above or below the set level.
If you want to start the trigger when it passes through the trigger level, set it to edge.
17.What is the reason why the temperature is displayed much lower when measuring the temperature with a
thermocouple?
When the measurement is stopped, press the [MENU] key and check if the room temperature compensation on the
[OTHER] screen is set to0 "Internal".
If it is set to "External", the room temperature is not compensated and the room temperature will be subtracted.
18.What happens to the recorded data if the power of the device is suddenly turned off?
If the sampling interval is less than one minute, data is recorded to the SD memory card every minute, so it is
possible that even data from one minute ago may still be there.
However, if there is a power failure while recording data, you may not be able to play back the data.
If there is a possibility of power failure such as momentary power failure, install the optional battery pack (B-569).
If the optional battery pack (B-569) is installed in the main unit, it will automatically switch to battery operation
and continue recording.
During recording, stop recording and establish the data before the battery runs out.
Therefore, no data will be lost even if the battery runs out.

19.What does the display show when the SD memory card is full?
When there is no more memory left, the message "The disk is full" and "Data recorded" will be displayed
in the upper left corner of the LCD. Press the [START/STOP] key to display the "Stop recording?" message,
then press the [ENTER] key to finish recording.
20.How to turn off the display of a specific waveform during recording data?
The TRACE function of the [SPAN/TRACE/POSITION] key can be used to turn the waveform display on and off.
21.Why does the "Memory Full message" appear even though there is free space on the SD memory card and
can not start recording ?
TThere is a limit to the number of files that can be stored in the root (top level) of the SD memory card.
Please create a folder and store the files in it.
22.Are the results of statistical calculations would be saved in a file?
The results of statistical calculations during recording are not saved, but when statistical calculations are
performed between cursors on playback data, the results can be saved in CSV format.
23.Why does the screen go black?
Please make sure you not using the screen saver function? Change the setting by pressing [MENU] key [OTHER].

If you press the [MENU] key and "Hold alarm occurrence" on the [TRIG] screen is set to [Hold], the alarm
will remain held even if it reaches the release level. To clear it, press the [CURSOR] key.
25.What is Free Running?
This function displays the status of the input signal without recording.
26.What is GBD file?
It is an extension of "Graphtec Binary Data", which is a binary data format for our instruments.
It can be played by our compatible devices and software.
27.How to develop software in-house?
We are not providing development support, however it is possible to develop software in-house by using the
application development library on the included CD.
28.Is it possible to back up data to another SD memory card while recording data to the SD memory card?
It is possible. Set the backup interval in "Backup Settings" in the "DATA" tab by pressing the "MENU" key.
The backup interval is "Off" by default, but you can select from 1/2/6/12/24 hours, and if you have set the
recording to SD Card 1, please set the "Backup Destination" to SD Card 2.
※ By default(initial value), a folder named "Backup" will be created in the SD memory card and the backup data
will be saved in it.
In case you change the destination folder, since there is a limit to the number of files that can be stored in the root
(top level) of the SD memory card, please create a folder and store the files in it.The maximum file size for
recorded data, backup data, etc. is 2 G Byte per file.
Also, the backup function is not available when ring recording is On or in CSV format.
