GRAPHTEC CE6000 SERIES Operating and safety instructions

New procedure to replace the main board of CE6000
The CE6000 series has a Sub-NVRAM on the cam sensor board.
This Sub-NVRAM is backing up all settings values for the main board.
Therefore all setting values are able to copy from the Sub-NVRAM to the main board without inputting
adjustment values from the factory adjustment label when the main board is replacing.
This function will help you when you are going to replace the main board of CE6000 series.
Note: This function is supported from the rmware version 1.30.
How to copy the adjustment values from the Sub NVRAM to the main board
(1) Turn off the power for the CE6000 if the power was on.
(2) Replace the main board.
(3) Perform the NV-RAM clear with corresponding model of dip-switch settings.
Set the dip-switch settings with corresponding model to the NV-RAM clear mode.

(4) Turn on the power for the CE6000 after the dip-switches were set to the NV-RAM Clear mode.
(5) Wait until the NV-RAM Clear was nished.
(6) Turn off the power for the CE6000 when the NV-RAM Clear was nished.
(7) Set the dip-switch settings with corresponding model to the normal mode.

(8) Turn on the power while pressing the down arrow key and the ENTER key.
The following menu is displayed.
(9) If the above status of SERIAL NUMBER and FACTORY VALUE is OK, the adjustment values are able
to copy from the Sub-NVRAM to the main board.
(10) Press F1 key to copy the value to the main board.
(11) The plotter will be initialized automatically after the values are copy to the main board.
This will nish in a few second.
(12) Turn off the power.
(13) End of replacing the main board.
When the Sub NV-RAM values were not able to copy to the main board
The Sub-NVRAM valuer are not able to copy to the main board when the following menu was displayed.
This menu will be displayed when the previous main board setting values were not copied from the Sub-
NVRAM.
This menu will be displayed when the cam sensor was replaced without backup to the Sub-NVRAM.
All adjustments have to perform when above menus were displayed (Refer to the service manual of CE6000
to adjust all adjustments.).
And all adjustment values must upload to the Sub-NVRAM.

How to backup the main board value to the Sub-NVRAM
Prepare following items before backup.
1. PC
2. SEND.EXE
3. USB cable
4. The CE6000 series of USB driver must be installed before using the SEND.EXE.
5. Serial number of CE6000 (The serial number is “E” and 9 digits of numbers.)
6. The backup command le. (This le has to create by the text editor such as word pad.)
How to create the backup command le
Type the following character by using the text editor.
a10,1,Exxxxxxxxx,
The "Exxxxxxxxx" is serial number of the CE6000.
For example if the serial number is "E209200001", type as below.
a10,1,E209200001,
Save the le after type it.
Procedure
The back up command should be sent in the READY menu of maintenance mode.
(1) Connect the CE6000 and the PC via the USB.
(2) Load a paper into the CE6000.
(3) Turn on the power while pressing the FAST key and the ENTER key.
The following menu is displayed.
(4) Send the backup command le to the CE6000 by using the SEND.EXE.

Press the Print button after the
backup command le and the
output device were selected.
Select the CE6000.
Conrm the active device at the
“Device and Printers” before
selecting the output device.

(5) The READY will be displayed after the backup was nished.
Turn off the power the after backup was nished.
The backup will be nished in about 30 seconds.
(6) Turn on the power while pressing the down arrow key and the ENTER key.
The following menu is displayed.
(7) Conrm that serial number is correct with the backup procedure.
And conrm the SERIAL_NUMBER and FACTORY_VALUE are showing the “OK”.
(8) Turn off the power for the CE6000.
