PARKING BRAKE
Parking Brake is provided to prevent unit from rolling
when parked or left unattended.
1. To engage parking brake, and to lock
brakes for parking, lock individual wheel
brakes together with brake lock arm, shift
into neutral, depress brake pedal and pull
parking brake lock lever down, then release
brake pedal.
2. To disengage parking brake, depress
brake pedal and pull park brake lock lever
up. See General Maintenance if parking
brake does not function properly.
PTO CONTROL LEVER
The power take off (PTO) control lever is
used to engage and disengage the
attachment.
To power attachment, pull lever forward to
“ON”.
To stop an attachment, pull lever backward
to “OFF”.
The operator must be seated to operate the
PTO. If operator leaves the seat while the
PTO is in the “On”position, engine will stop.
NOTE: Most attachments, especially rotary mowers and
snowblowers perform best when operated at full engine
speed. Proper ground speed is determined by power
limitations, type of terrain, the quality requirements of the
job being performed, obstructions, hazards, etc.
HYDRAULIC LIFT LEVER
The hydraulic lift system is used to raise and lower
attachments. To hold an attachment in position:
1.Lift attachment by pulling back hydraulic
lift lever until attachment is fully raised.
2.Lower attachment to desired position by
gently pushing lift lever forward. When
attachment reaches desired position,
release lever. Attachment will stay in that
position.
To have an attachment follow the ground:
3. Push lift lever all the way forward to “Float”position.
Attachment will be lowered to ground and lever will
stay at that position.
4. The hydraulic lift can be used to increase traction
momentarily for hill climbing, etc. Pull back on lift
lever until just before attachment begins to raise.
Immediately release lever. When traction assist is no
longer needed, return lever to “Float”position.
RANGE SELECT LEVER
IMPORTANT: Do not shift range select lever while
direction control pedal is depressed or unit is moving.
This will damage gears. Always release direction control
pedal to “neutral”and bring unit to a complete stop before
moving range select lever.
Range select lever is used to select speed
range of unit. Speeds vary from slow to
fast. Fast travel speeds are intended for
transport only. Slow speed is intended for
mowing. Do not mow at fast speed. When
unit is in neutral, transmission pumps do
not turn over. Unit must be in neutral to
start and park.
DIFFERENTIAL LOCK CONTROL
The differential lock control is used to lock
drive wheels together to reduce wheel spin.
1.To engage differential lock, press down on
the control bar with the heel of the left foot
while steering the unit in a straight line.
2.To disengage, remove foot from the
control.
Avoid making turns with the differential lock
engaged.
CAUTION
Before leaving operators position, engage parking
brake.
WARNING
On rough and sloping ground and when mowing and
trimming near buildings, trees, and other obstructions,
use a slow ground speed.

WARNING
Never operate PTO when attachment is in raised
position. PTO must be turned off before lifting
attachment.
