WARNING
Please read the following owner’s manual before using this air conditioner. This manual is not a
contract and should be used as a reference guide only. We reserve the right to make technical
changes at all times without prior notice.
USE
Thank you for purchasing this air conditioner. This unit is designed to improve indoor living and
working comfort by providing cooling and ventilation with minimal installation. Please refer to the
Room Cooling Chart at the end of this manual for the room size to cool vs the capacity of your new
air conditioner.
SAFETY NOTES
When using this air conditioner, or any other electric appliance, always follow these basic safety
precautions. Not doing so could result in injuries, electrical shocks or fire.
1. The unit must be connected to a grounded (three prongs) power supply properly rated. For
your safety, this unit is grounded through the power cord plug when connected to a grounded
wall outlet.
2. Do not alter the power cord nor the plug end by removing the ground prong.
3. It is recommended not to use an adaptor plug or extension cord.
4. Do not plug the unit in a damaged electrical receptacle.
5. Do not connect the unit to an outlet that is being used for other electrical appliances.
6. Before unplugging the unit, always turn it off. Always unplug the unit before cleaning or
servicing. When unplugging the unit, never pull on the power cord - always grip the plug.
7. Do not start or stop the unit by plugging in or pulling out the power cord.
8. Always check the power cord for signs of damage before use. If the power cord is damaged,
contact SUNRISE TRADEX Customer Service.
9. Do not install or use the unit in the following places:
• near a heat source;
• an area with possible gas leakage or in an explosive atmosphere ;
• near a bath, shower enclosure, swimming pool, or any other steamy and wet areas ;
• in a greenhouse.
10. Do not apply insecticides or any other flammable products on the unit.
11. Do not operate with wet hands or spray water or other liquid on the unit, nor immerse the
appliance.
12. This unit is not intended for the use of children and close supervision is necessary when it is
operating near children.
13. Never insert fingers, foreign objects, or anything to obstruct the air inlet and outlet grills.
Warn children.
14. Never operate with an outside protective cover in place or other objects blocking the outside
airflow.
15. For a maximum efficiency, do not block inside airflow with curtains, blinds, furniture or else.
16. Do not expose skin or eyes directly to cool air over a long period of time.
17. Ensure that all parts and accessories are correctly fitted before turning on the unit.
18. If an abnormal odour or smoke comes out of the unit, immediately unplug the unit and contact
SUNRISE TRADEX Customer Service.
19. Do not place a plant or allow a pet to be exposed directly to the unit cool airflow.
20. Do not put any combustion appliance in the direct path of the unit airflow ; it could affect the
combustion efficiency.

Before beginning to install, make sure to have close at hand all the tools you will need (listed below) and
that all accessories and hardware parts provided with your air conditioner (as shown) are all included.

IMPORTANT NOTICE :
Do not pierce the bottom of the air conditioner. Excess water is accumulated to cool down
the temperature of the capacitor (outdoor unit). It is normal to hear the capacitor’s blade hit
water accumulated in the bottom of the unit. Not respecting this notice will automatically void
the warranty of the unit.
NOTE : Drawing of the air conditioner and accessories may differ from the products.
UNPACKING THE AIR CONDITIONER
•Remove the air conditioner from the packing carton. It is recommended to keep the carton
and packing material for storage or transportation of the unit. If you decide to dispose of
the packing material, waste recycling where possible.
•Remove tape and glue residue from surface before turning on the air conditioner. Rub a
small amount of liquid dish soap over the glue residue with your fingers. Wipe with warm
water and dry.
• Do not use sharp instruments, rubbing alcohol, flammable fluids, or abrasive cleaners to
remove tape or glue. These products can damage the surface of your air conditioner.
• Handle the air conditioner with care. We recommend that 2 persons move and install this
air conditioner.
ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
•The electrical ratings for your air conditioner are listed on the rating plate of your unit.
• Specific electrical requirements are listed in the chart below. Make sure to follow the
requirements for the type of plug ending the power supply cord.
•The air conditioner must be grounded ; it is equipped with a power supply cord ending
with a grounded plug (3 prongs) and must be plugged into a properly rated 3-prong
grounded outlet.
• If you do not have a grounded outlet available, contact a qualified electrician to have a
grounded outlet properly installed.
• Do not alter the power supply plug by removing the ground plug.
RECOMMENDATIONS
•Make sure you install the air conditioner in a window that will hold the weight and secure
the unit as per the instructions.
• The weight may vary from 22 to 40 kg (48 to 88 lbs). Check the rating label on your unit
or the packing box to get the exact weight of your air conditioner.
• For a safe and solid installation, make sure you follow closely the instructions detailed in
the next pages.

INSTALLATION
WINDOW REQUIREMENTS
1. These instructions and installation parts are for a
standard double-hung window. It can be installed
with our without the expandable panels. Make sure the
opening is large enough for the size of unit (figure A).
2. The unit must be installed within 122 cm (48”) of a wall
grounded outlet. Do not use an extension cord.
3. All supporting parts must be fixed to solid wood,
masonry or metal.
4. Clear out the area where the unit is installed ; air inlets
and outlets must be free at all times.
N.B. : For storm window, to make sure the unit will drain properly, attach a piece of wood
to the stool in order to allow the air conditioner to tilt toward outside.
Size of the window piece :
Width - 2.5 cm (2”). Length - long enough to fit inside the window frame.
Thickness - place a piece of wood on the stool to make it 1.3 cm (1/2”) higher than the
top of the storm window frame.
PREPARING THE AIR CONDITIONER
*FIX THE EXPANDABLE PANELS ON THE AIR CONDITIONER
BEFORE PLACING THE UNIT IN THE WINDOW.
1. Using 2 Phillips screws, install the top mounting
rail on the top of the unit casing (figure B).
2. Slide the left and right expandable panels into
the top and bottom mounting rails* (figure C).
3. Using 2 Phillips screws and screwing through
the holes on the panel edge, fix the expandable
panels onto each side of the unit (figure D).

5. Fix the balance of the foam adhesive
sealer to the underside of the window
sash (Figure F).

COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION
1. Center the air conditioner in the window
opening; make sure the lower rail of the
unit is behind and against the back side
of the window sill (Figure G).
2. Use a level to check if the unit is
properley positioned; the air conditioner
should slant slightly downward on the
outside by half a bubble off on the level.
Close the window and hold unit in posi-
tion (Figure G).
3. Extend the left and right expandable
panels into the vertical window sashes ;
using one (1) slot head wood screw,
attach each panel to the window sash by
screwing through the hole in the panel
frame (Figure H).
4. Using the last slot head screw, fix the
window-lock bracket to the upper
window sash to secure the window in
place. (Figure I).
5. Cut the top window foam gasket to the
window width. Insert the foam between
the glass and the top of the lower
window sash to prevent air and insect
intrusion (Figure J).

LCD DISPLAY CONTROL PANEL

To turn the air conditioner on or off. When the unit is on, the LCD display
currently shows the room temperature.
Press this button to choose one of the following modes : COOL ;FAN ONLY ;
POWER SAVER. An indicator light goes on when selecting the mode.
Turns the timer on or off.
Decrease/increase the degrees (by 1) when setting the temperature in COOL
and POWER SAVER modes.
Decrease/increase the hours when setting the timer for an automatic start or
shut off of the air conditioner.
To set fan speeds : AUTO,LOW,HIGH or TURBO ; each level is paired with an
indicator light going on when selected.
The indicator light goes on when the filter is dirty. Once the cleaned filter is
back in place, press and hold on this button for 5 seconds to reset.
Indicator lights are paired with each fan speed level, going on when selected.
LCD display : currently shows the room temperature, except when setting
temperature or time when timer is on.

UNIT OPERATION
IMPORTANT NOTICE :
Do not pierce the bottom of the air conditioner. Excess water is accumulated to cool down the
temperature of the capacitor (outdoor unit). It is normal to hear the capacitor’s blade hit water
accumulated in the bottom of the unit. Not respecting this notice will automatically void the
warranty of the unit.
• Plug the unit into a grounded outlet. Do not use an extension cord nor an adapter plug.
• Press the POWER button to begin operation.
• When turning your air conditioner off, always wait at least 3 minutes before turning it back
on. It will prevent the air conditioner from blowing a fuse or tripping a circuit breaker.
• Do not run your air conditioner in cooling mode when the outdoor temperature is below
18°C (64°F). The internal evaporator will freeze up and the unit will not operate properly.
COOLING MODE
1. Press the MODE button and set to COOL. The indicator light will go on.
2. Press or to set room temperature - 18 to 30°C (64 to 86oF). The set temperature
will show on the LCD display and after 3 seconds, the current room temperature will show
permanently on the display.
3. Press to set fan speed : AUTO, LOW, HIGH or TURBO.
AUTO : This automatically sets the fan speed to provide an optimum comfort level based on
the set temperature. The fan speed will increase or decrease in order to adjust the
cooling airflow as per the set temperature. This button can be activated only when in
COOL mode. This function cannot be activated in FAN ONLY mode.
LOW : Fan speed lowest level - for NIGHTIME and/or a SMOOTH cooling.
HIGH : Fan speed high level - for NORMAL cooling.
TURBO : High velocity powerful airflow - for a MAXIMUM POWERFUL and FAST cooling.
• For maximum cooling efficiency, draw the curtains or blinds if the room is exposed
to direct sunlight. Do not place near a heat source.
• If the air conditioner is turned off or switched on from FAN ONLY or POWER SAVER mode,
upon turning the unit on to COOL mode, allow a 3 minute delay before the compressor and
cooling operation resume.
FAN ONLY MODE
The FAN ONLY mode provides ventilation and air filtration without cooling. When using the
FAN ONLY mode, the temperature settings cannot be adjusted but the room temperature will
show on the LCD display.
1. Press the MODE button and set to FAN ONLY.
2. Press to set fan speed: LOW, HIGH or TURBO.
NOTE : The AUTO fan speed cannot be used when in FAN ONLY mode.

UNIT OPERATION
POWER SAVER MODE
Based on set temperature, the fan cycles on and off along with the compressor. This mode
will result in large variations of room temperature and humidity. It is recommended to use
this mode when the room is unoccupied.
1. Press MODE and set to POWER SAVER (indicator light will go on).
2. Press or to set room temperature. The set temperature will show on the LCD
display ; after 3 seconds, the current room temperature will appear on the display.
3. Press to set fan speed : AUTO, LOW, HIGH or TURBO ; each speed indicator light will
go on when selected.
NOTE : The fan and the compressor may not cycle on and off simultaneously.
SETTING THE TIMER
The timer is used to set an automatic start or shut off.
Automatic start :
1. Press TIMER when the unit is OFF ; the timer indicator light will flash.
2. Press or to set the numbers of hours (1-24) before the turn on.
3. The LCD display shows the time (in hours) left before the unit starts.
4. Presss TIMER again or wait 10 seconds, the indicator light will stay on.
Automatic shut off :
1. Press TIMER when the unit is ON ; the timer indicator light will flash.
2. Press or to set the numbers of hours (1-24) before the shut off.
3. The LCD display shows the time (in hours) left before the unit turns off.
4. Press TIMER again or wait 10 seconds, the indicator light will stay on.
To cancel the timer :
The air conditioner can be either on or off to clear the timer ; simply press and hold the
TIMER button for 3 seconds, until the indicator light goes off.
Showing the time left (number of hours) :
1. Press on TIMER after it has been programmed.
2. While the display shows the time left before the start or shut off of the air conditioner,
press or if you want to change the number of hours.
FILTER CLEANING WARNING LIGHT
1. When the FILTER light is on, it indicates that the air filter is dirty. Remove and clean the
air filter or replace it. Refer to “Cleaning the air filter” (p. 13).
2. Put the filter back in place.
3. To reset, press and hold the FILTER button for 5 seconds - pilot light will go off.

NOTE : 2 AAA batteries (included) power the remote control.
TO TURN THE AIR CONDITIONER ON OR OFF :
Press POWER.
TO SELECT THE MODE :
Press COOL, FAN or POWER SAVER.
TO SELECT THE FAN SPEED :
Press FAN SPEED to select TURBO, HIGH, LOW or press AUTO.
Note : AUTO fan speed cannot be used in FAN mode.
TO SET THE TEMPERATURE :
Press or to set the temperature. Each time you press or hold these buttons, the
temperature goes up or down by 1o.
TO SET THE TIMER :
Automatic start time :
1. Press TIMER when the unit is OFF ; the indicator light on the unit control panel will flash.
2. Press or to set the numbers of hours (1-24) before the turn on.
3. Presss TIMER again or wait 10 seconds, the control panel indicator light will stay on.
Automatic shut off :
1. Press on TIMER when the unit is ON ; the indicator on the unit control panel will flash.
2. Press or to set the numbers of hours (1-24) before the shut off.
3. Press TIMER again or wait 10 seconds, the control panel indicator light will stay on.

CHANGING AIR DIRECTION
EXHAUST CONTROL :
• For maximum continuous cooling,
set the exhaust control to CLOSED -
it circulates the air in the room.
• To draw stale or smoky air out of
the room, set the exhaust control
to OPEN - it exhausts the air in
the room outdoor.
Note : the Exhaust Control will function only when the Fan is operating.
FAN SPEED :
Turn clockwise the FAN SPEED rotary control to one ot the following settings:
LOW FAN: for lower airflow
HIGH FAN: for higher airflow
POWER SAVER : Fan cycles on and off along with the compressor based on set temperature.
This will result in large variations of room temperature and humidity. It is recommended to
use this mode when the room is unoccupied. Fan and compressor may not cycle on and off
simultaneously.
LOW COOL : For NIGHTIME and/or a SMOOTH cooling.
MED COOL : For NORMAL cooling.
HIGH COOL : For MAXIMUM and FAST cooling.
TEMPERATURE SETTINGS :
Turn the TEMPERATURE rotary control to a mid-setting. Then set the temperature to the
desired level of room comfort by turning the TEMPERATURE control clockwise towards
COOLER or counterclockwise towards WARMER.
Depending on the air conditioner model,
you can either :
Use the tab to direct the airflow right or
left (Figure A)
or
Rotate the whole cartridge to direct
airflow up, down or straight ahead
(Figure B).

MAINTENANCE
CLEANING THE FILTER
The air filter is removable for easy cleaning. A clean filter helps to remove dust, lint and other
particles from the air. A clean filter is also essential to maximize the cooling and operating
efficiency of the air conditioner.
1. Turn the unit off and unplug the unit.
2. Slide the filter out from either side of the unit.
3. Gently clean with a vacuum cleaner or wash the filter in warm soapy water. Rinse well and
let it dry completely before putting it back.
4. Place the filter by sliding it back into either side of the unit.
NOTE :
• A dirty air filter reduces air volume. We recommend to clean the air filter every two weeks,
or more frequently if there are animals around.
• Never run the air conditioner without the air filter.
• Do not clean the air filter in the dishwasher, nor use chemical products or abrasive detergents.
CLEANING THE HOUSING
1. Turn the unit off and unplug the unit.
2. Wipe the surface of the unit with a soft damp cloth. Never immerse the unit.
3. Air dry completely and reconnect the unit.
4. Never use gasoline, paint thinner, other chemical products or abrasive detergents ; it could
damage the finish of the unit.
STORAGE
1. Turn off and unplug the unit.
2. Clean the filter and the housing.
3. Store the unit upright in a clean and dry area.
4. It is recommended to store the unit in its original packing box.
5. If the unit is installed permanently, during winter protect it with a heavy-duty cover ; it will
reduce air drafts, as well as paint and finish damages.
When the air conditioner is in good working conditions, it may produce the following noises
or vibrations:
• Noise of the fan blades hitting against water.
• The relay clicking when the compressor cycles on and off.
• Fan airflow ; the fan may run even when the compressor is off.
• Clicks from the thermostat cycle.
• Vibrations or noises due to poor wall or window construction.
Always turn off and unplug the unit before cleaning to avoid electrical
shock.
NOISES AND VIBRATIONS

TROUBLESHOOTING
Before getting service, please check the following::
Unit does not operate or
only runs in fan mode
Air cooling is not
efficient.
The unit starts and stops
frequently, or frequently
blows fuses or trips the
circuit breaker.

Re-establish the main power
supply.
Wait for power to restore. When
power is back, wait 3 minutes before
starting the unit.
Change time settings.
Clear out the air inlets and
outlets (curtains, blinds, etc.).
Close or move the heat source.
Clean the air filters.
Change set temperature.
Increase the fan speed or change
the unit mode.
Refer to the unit rating plate and
modify power source according.

Set the exhaust control to
CLOSED.
Check the room cooling chart in
this user’s guide (p.15).
The internal evaporator and
outside condenser coils look dirty or
obstructed by debris.

Customer Service.
Water drips from unit into
the house
Is the unit correctly installed and
properly leveled ?
Is the unit plugged alone or
connected to an extension cord?
Make sure that there is no other
appliance plugged on the same circuit
nor connected to an extension cord.
*Never drill a hole in the bottom of the metal base and condensate pan. This would void warranty of the unit.
Set highest fan speed and coolest
temperature and wait for frost to
melt.
The unit will not operate properly
when the outside temperature is
below 18oC (65oF).
The unit should slope slightly
downward the outside (half a bubble
on the level). Reposition or shim
the unit if necessary.*

LIMITED WARRANTY
This air conditioner is covered by a warranty against defects in materials and
workmanship including the compressor, if used for the applications specified in this owner’s
manual, for a period of two (2) YEARS from the date of original purchase in Canada.
Note : The internal compressor is covered by a 5-year limited warranty.
During the warranty period, if this air conditioner fails under normal use, SUNRISE TRADEX
CORP. will, at its option, either repair the unit or replace it, free of charge, within a
reasonable period of time after the air conditioner is returned.
As a condition to any warranty service obligation, the customer must present this warranty
certificate along with the proof of purchase.
THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER :
1. Damage, accidental or otherwise, to the air conditioner that are not caused by materials
or workmanship defect.
2. Damage caused by misuse, tampering or failure to follow the operating and maintenance
instructions provided in this owner’s manual.
3. Damage to the finish of the unit enclosure or to other outer features caused by wear.
4. Filter.
5. Damage caused by repairs or modifications to the air conditioner made by any person not
duly authorized by SUNRISE TRADEX CORP.
6. Insurance and freight costs for the warranty service.
ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY,
ARE LIMITED TO A TWO YEAR (2) PERIOD COVERED BY THIS EXPRESS LIMITED
WARRANTY. SUNRISE TRADEX CORP. DISCLAIMS ANY LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL
OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES AND, IN NO EVENT, SHALL SUNRISE TRADEX CORP. LIABILITY
EXCEEED THE RETAIL VALUE OF THIS AIR CONDITIONER FOR BREACH OF ANY WRITTEN
OR IMPLIED WARRANTY WITH RESPECT TO THIS AIR CONDITIONER.
