Green Brook DW050AH User manual

WIREFREE DOORCHIME
Replace battery cover carefully.
Press the button on the transmitter and
the doorchime will sound.
You have now tested your doorchime.
If there is no sound, check that
batteries are inserted correctly and that
they are not exhausted.
Before drilling any holes position the
transmitter on the door or door frame
outside (ideally a flat wooden area) and
press the button to ensure the signals
are getting through to the receiver.
Please test with the door closed to
simulate actual working
conditions. You should also look to
position the transmitter in an
unexposed place to protect from rain.
The range of the unit is up to 100 metres
but mounting the transmitter on metal
or UPVC doorframes may make the unit
inoperative or seriously reduce the
operating range.
As with all low powered transmitters the
number of walls and ceilings the signal
has to travel through, between the
transmitter and receiver also affects the
range.
Once a suitable surface is found remove
the transmitter base following 1a).
Use this as a template to fix the base on
to a doorframe. Ensure the transmitter is
the right way up so that the slot is at
the bottom.
If mounting on to masonry, wall fixings
will be required. Refit unit to the base.
IMPORTANT : The screws must be fixed
flush or the battery will not maintain
contact with the terminals and the unit
will not operate.
TUNE SELECTION
The unit comes with a factory pre-set
tune but it can be changed.
The tune is determined by the slider
switch as in Diagram 3.
Remove transmitter cover as in 1a) above
leaving the battery in and select tune as
shown in Diagram 3.
Press the push button to hear the sound
each different setting produces.
Once a desired tune is selected, Carefully
replace transmitter. Up to 3 different
sound options are available.
VOLUME CONTROL
Using a small screwdriver, adjust the
control on the back of ther receiver
(shown in Diag.5) until desired volume
level is achieved. If the sound is
completley muted adjust the control in
the opposite direction.
MODEL NUMBER:
DW 5 AH: Extra Loud + Flashing Light
• No more wires
• Simply insert batteries
• Batteries included for Transmitter
(2 x AAA)
• Receiver requires three Alkaline
”C cell“ LR14 batteries
• Transmitter screws included
Please read the instructions fully
before attempting installation.
1a) TRANSMITTER
The battery compartment slot is
located on the bottom of the unit.
Using a flat screw driver insert into slot
and gently push to remove the lower
cover. Remove plastic film from AAA
batteries, insert the two AAA batteries
supplied and refit the base cover.
1 b) RECEIVER
The battery compartment is located on
the base.
Remove cover gently by pushing and
releasing the two tabs.
Insert three batteries, ensuring the
correct polarity so that the negative end
is always resting on the spring and the
positive end on the flat metal plate.
The first battery goes in the lower
compartment with the negative end
against the spring.
The other two are inserted as shown in
diagram 4. above.
FLASHING LIGHT (DW050A & DW051A)
A bright xenon light will flash and
accompany the tune. This feature is
particularly useful for the hard of
hearing or when using the chime in a
noisy environment. The volume can be
muted following the instructions above.
See Diagram 5. for the sound/flashing
light options.
The unit comes with factory set code.
Only change it if you experience
interference from a neighbour’s unit.
Remove cover transmitter from base as
in 1a) leaving the batteries in
position. Set the dial as in Diag.3. to
required number i.e “6”, set this
number “6” on the corresponding dial
on the receiver.
Press push button on the transmitter to
check that the chime works and carefully
replace transmitter as above.
If using any existing chimes and/or
pushes, please read the information on
‘Doorchime Code Selection’ at the end
of these instructions*.
Test your doorchime by moving the
receiver in different rooms and at
varying distances from the
transmitter to ascertain the coverage
available in your home, this way you are
unlikely to miss any visitors. If preferred,
the receiver can be hung on a wall using
the keyhole slot at the back.
Fault : Chime does not sound
Cause :
• Check batteries are not flat and they
have been inserted the correct way
round. Do not mix different types of
batteries.
• Re-check the dials and switches in the
transmitter and receiver if the house
codes have been amended.
• Move the receiver nearer the
transmitter.
• Re-check the volume control
