SAFETY AND SET-UP _________________________
Please read this instruction manual thoroughly before
using this appliance. Follow all the safety instructions
to avoid damage caused by improper use.
Keep this instruction manual for future reference. If this
appliance is given to a third party, then this instruction
manual must also be handed over.
 The appliance is designed for domestic use only. It
should not be used for any commercial purpose.
 The appliance must not be immersed in water or any
other liquid. The power cord or power plug must not
be immersed in water or any other liquid. Do not
clean any of this appliance in a dishwasher.
 This appliance can be used by children aged from 8
years and above if they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the appliance in
a safe way and if they understand the hazards
involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not
be made by children unless they are older than 8
and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out
of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
 Appliances can be used by persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack
of experience and knowledge if they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of
the appliance in a safe way and understand the
hazards involved.

 Children shall not play with the appliance.
 Our GRUNDIG Household Appliances meet
applicable safety standards. Therefore, if the
appliance or supply cord (power cord) is damaged
it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service
agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid
a hazard. Faulty or unqualified repair work may
cause danger and risk to the user.
 The kettle is only to be used with the stand (the base)
provided. Do not use the base for any other purpose.
 Never fill the kettle above the maximum level indicator.
If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.
 Only use this appliance indoors. Do not use this
appliance in the bathroom or outside.
 Make sure that your local power supply corresponds
to the information on the label. The only way to
disconnect the appliance from the power supply is to
pull the power plug out of the power outlet.
 Do not wrap the power cord around the appliance.
Store the power cord in the base of the appliance.
 For additional protection, this appliance should be
connected to a household residual current device
with a rating of no more than 30 mA. Consult your
electrician for advice.
 Always pull out the power plug after using the
appliance, before cleaning the appliance, before
leaving the room or if a fault occurs. Do not
disconnect the plug by pulling on the cord.

bending or rubbing it on sharp edges. Keep the
power cord away from hot surfaces and open flames.
 Do not use an extension cord with the appliance.

circumstances. No warranty claims are accepted for
damage caused by improper handling.
 Make sure the appliance is always kept out of the
reach of children.
 Do not leave this appliance unattended when it is in
use. Extreme caution is advised when the appliance
is being used near children and persons who are
restricted in their physical, sensory or mental abilities.
 Before using the appliance for the first time, carefully
clean all parts that come into contact with water.
Please see details in the “Cleaning and care” section.
 Dry the appliance before connecting it to the mains supply.
 Do not place this appliance on hotplates (gas,
electric or coal stoves etc.). Keep this appliance
away from all hot surfaces.
 Do not use the appliance for anything other than its
intended use. The kettle is designed for boiling water.
Do not use the kettle to heat any other liquids or
tinned, jarred, bottled food.
 Never use the appliance in or near to combustible/
inflammable places and materials.

 Only use the parts provided with the appliance.
Operate the appliance with the delivered parts only.
 Never use this appliance with damp or wet hands.
 Always operate this appliance on a heat-resistant,
stable, dry, non-slip surface.
 Make sure that there is no danger that the power
cord could be accidentally pulled or that someone
could trip over it when the appliance is in use.
 Position the appliance so the plug is always
accessible.
 Warning – Danger of burns!
Hold the appliance by the handle only. Avoid contact
with hot surfaces as well as with the emitting steam.
 Position the lid so the hot steam is directed away
from you.
 Do not open the lid while the water is boiling. Be
careful while you are opening the lid after the water
has boiled. The steam from a kettle is very hot.
 Only fill the appliance with cold, fresh drinking water.
 Make sure the kettle lid remains completely closed
when using the kettle.
 Do not fill the kettle below the minimum level
indicator.
 Do not fill the kettle when it is fitted on its base.
 Ensure that the appliance is switched off before
removing it from its base.

 Do not stick any foreign objects on or in the appliance.
 No liability can be assumed for possible damages
that may have been caused by incorrect usage or
mishandling of the appliance.
 Danger of suffocation! Keep all packaging materials
away from children.
 Remove all packaging materials and labels and
dispose of them according to the applicable legal
regulations. Please contact your local authority in
regard to disposal and recycling in your area.
 Always connect the appliance to an earthed wall socket.
 To guarantee the safety of the appliance, do not
alter the safety features in any way.
 Products sold in the UK have a British Standard
plug. In the event of an electrical overload the fuse
may blow. Please have the fuse replaced by the
manufacturer or qualified service personnel. Position
the appliance so the power plug is always accessible.
 This appliance is intended to be used in household
and similar applications such as:

working environments;
– farm houses;
– by clients in hotels, motels and other residential

Special features
The GRUNDIG Digital Double Wall Kettle is
equipped with:
 High-powered kettle with 2000-2400 Watt output.
 A durable and corrosion-resistant, stainless steel
water tank with an energy saving double-wall that
insulates the kettle and keeps it warmer for longer.
 Child safety features: The kettle’s exterior is cool
to the touch and if the kettle is tipped, the non-
drip lid makes sure it does not leak. Also, if the lid
is not correctly put on the kettle will not start the
boiling process.
 The kettle automatically switches off when the lid
is taken off.
 Boil-dry protection automatically switches off the
kettle if it is accidentally switched on when there
is too little water in it.
 A 360°cordless water tank – maximum 1L and
minimum 0.5L marking.
 Adjustable boiling temperature from 40°C
to 100°C
 Boils water and keeps it warm for 40 minutes
at a preset temperature (40°C to 90°C).
 The water heating element is neatly concealed
and makes the water tank easier to clean.

OPERATION ________________________________
Preparation
1 Remove all packaging material and stickers.
Dispose of them according to the applicable
statutory regulations.
2 Before using the appliance for the first time,
carefully clean all parts that come into contact
with water. (See the “Cleaning and care” section.)
3 Unroll the power cord H from the base F. Pass
the power cord through the slot on the base.
4 Open the lid by squeezing the lid release buttons
C together and lifting it off.
5 Fill the water tank D with water.
6 Put the lid J on and push down to secure it
into place.
7 Set the kettle on its base F. Make sure the kettle
is sitting correctly on the base and that both parts
are in a stable position. Make sure that the base of
the kettle is placed on a heat-resistant, even, stable,
dry, non-slip surface.
8 Slide the open/close push button B to the closed
position to make sure no water or steam can come
out of the spout. No red is visible on the button
when it is in the closed position.
9 Insert the plug H into an earthed wall socket.
10 Clean the kettle to remove any manufacturing
residues:
a. Press to turn the kettle on and boil it.
b. Discard the boiled water.
c. Fill the kettle again and repeat steps 10a and
10b.
Operation
To set up the kettle, follow steps 4-9 above.
Notes
 Do not place the water tank D on the base F while
filling it with water.
 Never fill the water tank D above the maximum
level indicator or below the minimum level indicator.
Boiling water only
1 When the kettle is placed on its base, the icon
and 100°C appear on the LCD screen.
2 To boil the water, press

 The LCD screen illuminates for 10 seconds after the
kettle turns off.
Heating water to your desired
temperature
1 When the kettle is placed on its base, the icon
and 100°C appear on the LCD screen.
2 Press until the icon appears.
3 Press or to set the temperature. The
temperature is adjustable from 40°C to 100°C in
5°C increments. The default setting is 100°C.
4 Press to heat the water to your set temperature.
Notes
 The icon flashes to show the kettle is boiling.
The icon stops flashing when the kettle turns off.
 The LCD screen illuminates for 10 seconds after the
kettle turns off.

 To manually stop the kettle at any time, press .
 The lid should always be closed during the heating
process. If the lid is not placed on the kettle, the
kettle will stop to function.
 When you remove the kettle from the base, all
settings will be deleted and it will return to the
default setting.
Keeping water warm
Your kettle can keep water warm for up to 40 minutes at
a preset temperature.
1 Press until the keep warm icon appears.
2 Press or to set the temperature. The
temperature is adjustable from 40°C to 90°C in
5°C increments.

Notes
 The temperature is adjustable from 40°C to 90°C in
5°C increments. If you select a temperature higher
than 90°C, the appliance will automatically correct
it to within the available temperature range.
 To turn off the keeping water warm setting, simply
lift the kettle from the base unit until the LCD light
goes out.
3 Press to heat the water. Once heated,
flashes to show the water is being kept warm.

 To manually stop the kettle at any time, press .
 The lid should always be closed during the keeping
warm process. If the lid is not placed on the kettle,
the kettle will stop to function.
 When you remove the kettle from the base, all
settings will be deleted and it will return to the
default setting.
Prolonging the boiling point
This feature prolongs the boiling process for up to 3
seconds once the kettle has boiled. This is useful if you
are in an area of high altitude where water can come
to the boil at only 96°C. The extended boiling time will
bring the temperature nearer to 100°C and helps to
make sure that any impurities in the water are removed.
This is particularly important when preparing boiled
water for baby food.
1 Press until the prolonged boil icon
appears.
2 Press or to set the number of seconds
(0 to 3) the water will stay boiling for.
3 Press to boil the water. Once boiled,
flashes while the water continues to boil.
Note
 This function only works when the temperature is set
to 100°C.
Non-drip spout
To prevent water leaking from the spout, push the spout
open/close push button B away from the spout to close
it. To open the spout when you want to pour the water,
push the spout open/close push button B towards the
spout.

 No red is visible on the button when it is in the
closed position.

Caution
 When pouring water from the kettle always hold the
kettle by the handle. Do not touch the metal on the
lid as it can get very hot.
 Be careful – steam will emit from the steam vent on
the lid during boiling.
 Make sure the lid is always on the kettle and firmly
fixed into place when you are heating water or
keeping water warm.
 Do not open the lid when the kettle is boiling or
keeping water warm.
 We recommend that you unplug your kettle when
you are not using it.
 Warning! Normally steam will emit from the steam
vent I on the lid during boiling. If the steam comes
out from the steam vent T a foreign object could be
blocking the steam vent I. Remove the kettle from
the power base at once. Let the kettle cool down
and then thoroughly clean the lid and remove any
foreign objects from the steam vent I.
Tips
 Use softened or filtered water to prevent the build-up
of limescale.
 Water boils at 100°C.

INFORMATION _____________________________
Cleaning and care
Caution
 Never use petrol, solvents or abrasive cleaners,
metal objects or hard brushes to clean the
appliance.
 Never put the kettle, the lid J, the base F or
power cord H in water or any other liquids.
1 Turn the appliance off and disconnect it from the
earthed wall socket.
2 Let the appliance cool down completely.
3 Use a damp, soft cloth with a little mild cleanser to
clean the exterior of the appliance.
4 Dry all parts thoroughly with a soft towel after
cleaning.
Descaling the kettle
To extend the life of your kettle, descale it when you see
a build-up of limescale in the water tank.
1 Fill the kettle three-quarters full with water. Then
add white vinegar or lemon juice up to the
maximum level.
2 Boil the solution (refer to the “Operation” section).
3 Once boiled, leave the solution in the kettle for
a few hours.
4 Pour out the solution and thoroughly rinse the
inside.
5 Fill the kettle with water and boil it.
6 Empty the kettle and again rinse it with water.
7 If there is still some limescale, repeat the
procedure.
Caution
 If too much limescale builds up the appliance might
stop working. If that happens, take it to your service
centre.
 There is a temperature heating device (NTC) inside
the kettle. Make sure you do not damage it when
cleaning. Do not clean the inside of the kettle with
any type of brush.
Tips
You can buy descaler products for kettles. Please follow
the descaler product’s instructions.
Storage
If you will not be using the kettle for a long period
of time, please store it carefully.
 Make sure the appliance is unplugged and
completely dry.
 Packed carefully with the power cord stored in the
base.
 Store it in a cool, dry place.
 Make sure the appliance is always kept out of the
reach of children.
