1. Introduction
1.1 General
• Following the instructions and warnings in this manual ensures a smooth, ecient and safe handling of the Elephants Trunk.
• Before starting to work with the Elephants Trunk, the operator must have carefully read and understood this manual.
• This manual is a part of the Elephants Trunk and must therefore be kept in the immediate vicinity of the Elephants Trunk.
• This instruction manual constitutes original manufacturer’s instructions in the sense of EC Directive 2006/42/EC.
• GTM Professional is continually striving to further develop its range of products. We therefore reserve the right to make
alterations to the form, technical specications and equipment level of our standard equipment. For this reason, the information
and illustrations in this manual are subject to alterations.
• The warranty will be invalidated in the case of unauthorized intervention on the Elephants Trunk and whenever the safety
instructions, as described in the following enclosures, are not followed.
• This instruction manual is protected by copyright. All rights reserved, especially the right of reproduction, translation and
processing using electronic systems.
• Users are responsible for all damage caused to a third party.
1.2 Description of Elephants Trunk (called ET hereafter)
• The ET is an ergonomic harness developped for the use of (pole mounted) hedge trimmers or handheld leaf blowers. The
hedgetrimmer or leafblower (weighing between 4,5 and 8 kg) is simply clipped onto the steel cable of the balancer, taking the
weight of the machine and transferring it to the whole of your torso. The tension of the spring (preset) in the balancer reduces
the apparent weight of the hedge trimmer by approximately 3 kg. The ET can be used on all hedge trimmers and because the
cable length follows automatically the position of the arms, you can use it at a wide working range. With your ET you will be able
to trim hedges all day long and, furthermore, because you can work with less eort you will work faster, more accurate and in
greater safety.

2. Instructions for safety during use
2.1 Training
• Read the instructions carefully. Be familiar with the manual, and the correct use of the ET before attempting to operate this
equipment. Be familiar with the manual, and correct use of the tools connected to the ET.
• Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the ET. Users must be at least 16 years of age. Local
regulations can restrict the age of the operator.
• Keep in mind, that the operator or user is responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to other people or their property. Never
allow children, persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge or people
unfamiliar with these instructions to use the ET.
2.2 Preparation
• Obtain ear protection and safety glasses. Wear them at all times while operating the ET in combination with a hedge trimmer or
other motorized tool.
• While operating the ET always wear substantial footwear and long trousers. Do not operate the ET when barefoot or wearing
open shoes.
• Operate the ET in a stable, upright position. Make sure your workoor is free of obstacles.
• Before using, always visually inspect to see, that:
- All straps of the harness are in good condition and undamaged.
- The steel cable runs smoothly through the tube, across the groove rollers and has no damage.
Never operate the ET while people, especially children, or pets are nearby.
• The user should be aware of the rules and regulations concerning the environment and noise levels.
• It is prohibited to use the ET for other use than described in this manual.
• Do not use the ET in the dark.

3. Operation
3.1 General operation
• Do not operate the ET in rain or other wet circumstances.
• Keep proper balance and footing at all times. Do not overreach.
• Machines should stay in position or slowly lower to the ground when attached to
the ET, this indicates that the balancer works correct and the correct weight of the
machine. When the machine shoots up, the machine is too light or the balancer
doesn’t work correctly. When the balancer doesn’t work correctly, always
contact your dealer.
Never operate the ET with equipment lighter than 4,5 kg. this can cause
dangerous situations when the balancer lifts the equipment towards
your body or face.
Never operate the ET with defective straps or defective buckles.
• Wearing the ET
Adjusting the harness
- Adjust the straps to personal preference. (Fig. 2a)
- When necessary use extensions for waist band (Fig. 2b)
- You can adjust the stability with the slide from shoulders to frame.
Setting up the ET
- Loosen the knobs to adjust the space between your shoulders and the
room above your head. (Fig 3).
After adjusting, fasten the knobs to lock the desired position.
- Loosen the clamp to adjust the space between your hips and shoulders (Fig 4).

an overlap of minimal 4.5 cm of the tubes.
3.2 Maintenance and storage
• Store the ET in storage position (Fig. 5) in a dry place out of the reach of children.
• We suggest to clean the ET after every use. Remove woodchips and dust from the
ET using a soft brush and or cloth.
• Replace worn or damaged parts for safety. Use only genuine replacement parts
and accessories. Article numbers can be found in the Part List Book.
• When the ET is disassembled, make sure that no debris can fall into
the open tubes.

4. Unpacking and assembly
The ET is assembled in package (Fig. 6). To use the ET, put it in correct working position (Fig. 7).
4.1 Parts inside the package
Choking hazard for kids playing with packaging material!
Keep packaging material out of reach from children.
The package contains the following items:
• Pre-assembled ET
• Red carabiner
• CE document
• Hipbelts extension (2x)

5. Instructions for use
5.1 Preparation
Check following points before using the ET:
• No damage to the ET or cable (Fig. 8)
• All bolts and nuts tightened rmly
Always respect the safety and environment instructions!
5.2 Which machines can be used?
The ET can be used for reducing the working weight of machines from 4,5 kg up to
8 kg. We recommend to use the ET for hedge trimmers, pole hedge trimmers and
handcarried leaf blowers.
The ET is not meant to reduce the weight of machines weighing less than 4,5 kg.
Reducing the weight of a machine weighing less than 4,5 kg can cause dangerous situations!
The balancer can lift the machine towards your body and or face. Make sure that the carabiner doesn’t interfere with safety
functions of the tool attached.
6. Disposing of Elephants Trunk
When the ET is end-of-life, the ET needs to be scrapped. To do so, take following actions:
• Bring all parts to a specialized waste handling company.

7. Trouble shooting table
Problem Cause Solution
The steel cable is not pulled into the
balancer anymore.
- Steelcable is broken.
- Balancer spring is broken.
- Replace the steel cable or balancer.
- Replace balancer.
Harness parts do not hold their position. - Insucient clamping force - Tighten the Knobs & the nut of the
clamp. Applying a bit of grease on the
thread of the knobs helps to tighten them
easier.
When the balancer doesn’t function correctly, always contact your dealer.
8. Warranty conditions
8.1 Warranty
You are entitled to warranty on factory- and component faults provided that the ET is used as described in the manual. Not included
are parts that are subject to wear (see chapter 3.3).
8.2 Terms
For professional use: 6 months.
For private use: 2 years.
8.3 Conditions
The warranty covers the replacement of faulty parts and the corresponding labour, but not the costs of transport. The purchase
invoice is also the warranty certicate.
8.4 Exceptions
The warranty is invalidated when the operating and maintenance instructions, which are provided with the ET, have not been
followed, when an inproper use has been made, when not original spare parts have been used or when unqualied repairers have
tampered with the ET.
8.5 Where
The qualied After-Sale-Service, for repair under warranty, is available from the dealer from whom you have purchased the ET. Ask
for an invoice marked “Warranty Repair” for the repair.

NL 1. Introductie
1.1 Algemeen
• Door de instructies en waarschuwingen uit de handleiding te volgen, verzekert men zich van een gemakkelijke en veilige
bediening van de GTM Professional Elephants Trunk.
• Voordat begonnen wordt met de GTM Professional Elephants Trunk te werken, moet de gebruiker deze handleiding goed
hebben gelezen en begrepen.
• Deze handleiding is een deel van de machine en moet daarom in de buurt van de machine bewaard blijven.
• Deze handleiding bevat originele instructies van de fabrikant volgens EC Directive 2006/42/EC.
• GTM Professional streeft er continu na om onze producten verder te ontwikkelen. We behouden ons daarom het recht om
veranderingen aan te brengen in de vorm, de technische specicaties en het niveau van het apparaat ten opzichte van het
standaard apparaat. Daarom zijn de informatie en illustraties in deze handleiding onderhevig aan verandering.
• De garantie zal vervallen bij een ongeoorloofde ingreep aan de GTM Professional Elephants Trunk en bij het zich niet houden
aan de voorgeschreven veiligheidseisen.

1.2 Beschrijving van de Elephants Trunk (hierna ET genoemd)
• De ET is een ergonomisch harnas ontwikkeld voor het gebruik met heggenscharen (op stok) of handgedragen bladblazers.
De heggenschaar of bladblazer (tussen de 4,5 kg en 8 kg) wordt eenvoudig aan de staalkabel van de katrol gekoppeld. Hierdoor
worden uw armen ontlast en wordt de massa van het gereedschap verplaatst naar uw gehele lichaam. De veerspanning (vast
ingesteld) van de katrol brengt het gewicht van de heggenschaar terug met circa 3 kg. De ET kan voor alle heggenscharen gebruikt
worden, en omdat de staalkabel automatisch de positie van de armen volgt beschikt u over een groot werkbereik. Met de ET kunt u
een hele dag heggen trimmen en omdat het minder inspannend is kunt u sneller, preciezer en veiliger werken.

2. Instructies voor veiligheid tijdens gebruik
2.1 Training
• Lees de instructies nauwkeurig. Wees bekend met de handleiding, bediening en het correcte gebruik van de ET voordat u
ermee gaat werken.
• Laat nooit kinderen of mensen die niet bekend zijn met deze instructies met de ET werken. Gebruikers van de ET moeten
minstens 16 jaar zijn. Plaatselijke regelgeving kan de leeftijd van de gebruiker beperken.
• Let er op dat de gebruiker/ bediener van de ET verantwoordelijk is voor ongelukken of gevaarlijke situaties naar andere
personen of hun bezittingen. Laat nooit kinderen, personen met fysische, zintuigelijke of mentale beperkingen, personen met
gebrek aan ervaring en kennis of personen onbekend met deze instructies de machine gebruiken.
2.2 Voorbereiding
• Verzeker u van gehoorbescherming en veiligheidsbril. Draag deze te allen tijde tijdens het bedienen van de ET in combinatie
met een heggenschaar of ander gemotoriseerd gereedschap.
• De gebruiker moet veiligheidsschoenen en geschikte broek dragen. (Goed passend en geen losse kleding met koordjes of
franjes). De ET nooit gebruiken op blote voeten of met open schoenen.
• Gebruik de ET in een stabiele en rechte positie. Zorg ervoor dat je werkplek vrij van obstakels is.
• Controleer voor ieder gebruik van de ET het volgende:
- Schouder- en buikband op beschadigingen.
- De staalkabel moet soepel in en uit de katrol lopen via de V-groef roller en onbeschadigd zijn.
De ET nooit gebruiken in de aanwezigheid van personen, in het bijzonder kinderen, of dieren.
• De gebruiker moet zich bewust zijn van de regels en wetgeving met betrekking tot de leefomgeving en geluidsniveaus.
• Het is niet toegestaan de ET voor andere doeleinden te gebruiken dan waar deze voor bedoeld is zoals omschreven in deze
handleiding.
• Gebruik de machine niet in het donker.

3.1 Algemene bediening
• Gebruik de ET niet in de regen of andere natte omstandigheden.
• Zorg te allen tijde voor een stabiele houding en zorg dat je stevig staat.
Nooit overstrekken.
• Machine zou moeten blijven hangen of langzaam moeten zakken wanneer
bevestigd aan de ET, dit geeft de correcte werking van de balancer en het
correcte gewicht van de machine aan. Wanneer de machine naar boven schiet,
is de machine te licht of werkt de balancer niet correct. Wanneer de balancer
niet correct functioneert, neem contact op met uw dealer.
De ET nooit gebruiken in combinatie met gereedschap lichter dan 4,5 kg.
Dit kan tot gevaarlijke situatie leiden omdat de katrol dan het gereedschap
richting lichaam en/of gezicht kan heen.
De ET nooit gebruiken met kapotte of beschadigde banden en/ of sluitingen.
• Dragen van de ET
Aanpassen van het harnas
- Pas de banden aan naar persoonlijke voorkeur (Fig. 2a).
- Wanneer nodig, gebruik de verlengstukken voor de heupgordel (Fig. 2b).
- U kunt de stabiliteit aanpassen met de schuif van schouders tot aan het frame.
Instellen van de ET
- Draai de knoppen los om de ruimte tussen schouders en boven je hoofd
aan te passen (Fig. 3).
Draai de knop vast om de gewenste positie te behouden.
- Maak de klem los om de ruimte tussen heupen en schouders aan te
passen (Fig. 4). Maak de klem vast om de gewenste positie te behouden. Zorg
ervoor dat er een overlap is van minimaal 4.5 cm tussen de buizen.
3.2 Onderhoud en opslag
• Bewaar de ET in opslag positie (Fig.5) op een droge locatie buiten bereik
van kinderen.
• Wij adviseren om de ET na ieder gebruik te reinigen. Verwijder houtsnippers
en stof met een zachte borstel en / of doek.
• Vervang versleten of beschadigde onderdelen voor uw eigen veiligheid.
Gebruik alleen originele onderdelen. De onderdeelnummers staan vermeld in
de bijgeleverde onderdelenlijst.
• Let op dat bij een gedemonteerde ET geen vuil in de open buizen kan komen.

4. Uitpak instructies en montage
De ET zit voorgemonteerd in de verpakking (Fig. 6). Om de ET te gebruiken, plaats deze in de correcte werkpositie (Fig. 7).
4.1 Onderdelen in de verpakking
Verstikkingsgevaar voor kinderen die met het verpakkingsmateriaal spelen!
Houd verpakkingsmateriaal uit de buurt van kinderen.
In de verpakking bevinden zich de volgende onderdelen:
• Voorgemonteerde ET
• Rode karabijnhaak
• CE document
• Verlengstuk heupband (2x)
• Handleiding
5. Gebruikshandleiding
5.1 Voorbereiding
Controleer het volgende alvorens u de ET in gebruik neemt:
• Geen beschadigingen waarneembaar aan ET en kabel (Fig. 8)
• Alle bouten en moeren zitten goed vast
Neem altijd de veiligheids- en omgevingsrichtlijnen in acht!
5.2 Welke gereedschappen kunnen gebruikt worden in combinatie
met de ET?
De ET kan worden toegepast voor het reduceren van de massa van gereedschappen
van 4,5 kg tot 8 kg. We raden aan de ET te gebruiken voor heggenscharen,
heggenscharen op stok en handgedragen bladblazers.
De ET is niet bedoeld om de massa van gereedschappen met een gewicht kleiner dan 4,5 kg te reduceren. Reductie van
de massa van gereedschappen met een massa van kleiner dan 4,5 kg kan tot gevaarlijke situaties leiden! De katrol kan
het gereedschap richting lichaam en / of gezicht heen! Zorg ervoor dat de karabijnhaak de veiligheidsfuncties van het
bevestigde gereedschap niet hindert.
6. Afdanken van de Elephants Trunk
Wanneer de ET versleten is moet deze naar een ociële afvalverwerker gebracht worden.

Probleem Oorzaak Oplossing
De staalkabel wordt niet meer in de ET
getrokken.
- Staalkabel is gebroken.
- Veer van katrol is gebroken.
- Vervang de staalkabel of de katrol.
- Vervang de katrol.
Harnas behoudt de positie niet. - Niet genoeg klemkracht. - Draai de knoppen en de moer van de
klem vast. Door een beetje vet op het
schroefdraad van de knoppen aan te
brengen worden ze gemakkelijk vast
gedraaid.
Wanneer de balancer niet naar behoren functioneert, contacteer uw dealer.
8. Garantie bepalingen
8.1 Garantie
U heeft garantie op fabrieks- en materiaalfouten mits de machine wordt gebruikt zoals beschreven in de handleiding.
Hiervan uitgesloten zijn slijtagedelen. (Zie hoofdstuk 3.3)
8.2 Termijnen
Bij professioneel-gebruik 6 maanden.
Bij privégebruik 2 jaar.
8.3 Voorwaarden
De garantie dekt zowel onderdelen als arbeidsloon, echter niet de transportkosten. De aankoopfactuur is tevens het garantiebewijs.
8.4 Uitsluiting
De garantie vervalt wanneer de gebruiks- en onderhoudsvoorschriften zoals bijgeleverd niet worden opgevolgd, wanneer de ET
oneigenlijk gebruikt wordt, wanneer geen originele onderdelen gebruikt worden of wanneer er niet toegestane veranderingen aan
de ET zijn aangebracht.
8.5 Waar
Voor reparaties onder garantie wendt u zich altijd tot de dealer waar u de ET gekocht heeft. Vraag van uw reparatie een
garantienota.

1. Introduction
1.1 Généralité
• Suivre les instructions et les avertissements de ce manuel assure une manipulation douce, ecace et sans danger du harnais
Trompe d’éléphant.
• Avant de travailler avec le harnais Trompe d’éléphant, l’opérateur doit lire attentivement et comprendre ce manuel.
• Ce manuel fait partie du harnais Trompe d’éléphant et doit être gardé à proximité du harnais trompe d’éléphant. En plus, la
consigne de déballage fait également partie du harnais Trompe d’éléphant.
• Ce manuel constitue les instructions originales du fabricant respectant la Directive CE 2006/42/EC.
• GTM Professional s’eorce continuellement de développer sa gamme de produits. Par conséquent, nous nous réservons
le droit d’apporter des modications au formulaire, aux spécications techniques et le niveau de l’équipement de nos
équipements standard. Pour cette raison, les informations et les illustrations de ce manuel sont susceptibles d’être modiées.
• La Garantie sera invalidée si une intervention est faite sur le harnais Trompe d’éléphant sans autorisation et si les consignes de
sécurité ne sont respectées comme décrit dans ce manuel.

1.2 Description du harnais Trompe d’éléphant (appelé ET ci-dessous)
• Le ET est un harnais ergonomique développé pour l’utilisation de taille-haies (montés sur perche) ou d’un soueur de feuilles
portatif. Le taille-haie ou soueur de feuilles (pesant entre 4,5 et 8 kg) se clipse simplement sur le câble acier de l’équilibreuse,
en prenant le poids de la machine et en le transférant sur l’ensemble de votre torse. La tension du ressort (préréglé) dans
l’équilibreur réduit le poids apparent du taille-haie d’environ 3 kg. Le ET peut être utilisé sur tous les taille-haies et parce que
la longueur du câble suit automatiquement la position des bras, vous pouvez l’utiliser dans une large plage de travail. Avec
votre ET vous pourrez tailler les haies toute la journée avec moins d’eort, vous travaillerez plus rapidement, plus précisément
et en plus grande sécurité.

2. Instructions de sécurité
2.1 Formation
• Lisez attentivement les instructions. Familiarisez-vous avec le manuel et l’utilisation correcte du ET avant d’utiliser cet
équipement.
• N’autorisez pas les enfants ou les personnes peu familières avec ces instructions à utiliser le ET. Les utilisateurs doivent être
âgés de 16 ans au moins. Les réglementations locales peuvent restreindre l’âge de l’utilisateur.
• Pensez toujours que l’utilisateur est responsable des accidents ou des dangers envers d’autres personnes ou leurs biens.
Ne laissez jamais des enfants ou des personnes aux capacités physiques, sensorielles ou mentales réduites ou en manque
d’expérience et de connaissance ou des personnes non familières avec ces instructions utiliser le ET.
2.2 Préparation
• Procurez-vous des protections auditives et des lunettes de sécurité. Portez-les tout le temps pendant le travail avec le ET
couplé d’un taille-haie ou tout autre outil mécanique.
• Pendant l’utilisation du ET portez toujours des chaussures de sécurité et un pantalon long, mais ne soyez jamais les pieds nus
ou en chaussures ouvertes.
• Utilisez l’ET dans une position stable et verticale. Assurez-vous que votre espace de travail est exempt d’obstacles.
• Avant l’utilisation, contrôlez toujours que :
- Toutes les sangles du harnais sont en bon état.
- Le câble acier bouge aisément à travers le tube et dans les rouleaux rainurés.
N’utilisez jamais le ET alors que des gens, et surtout des enfants et des animaux se trouvent à proximité.
• L’utilisateur doit suivre les règles et les règlements concernant les niveaux sonores et l’environnement.
• Il est interdit d’utiliser le ET à d’autres ns que celles décrites dans ce manuel.
• N’utilisez pas le ET dans l’obscurité.

3. Utilisation
3.1 Utilisation générale
• N’utilisez pas le ET sous la pluie ou en d’autres circonstances humides.
• Tenez-vous bien en équilibre et d’aplomb au sol en tout temps. Ne vous penchez pas.
• Les machines doivent rester en position ou s’abaisser lentement au sol lorsqu’elles
sont attachées à l’ET, cela indique que l’équilibreur fonctionne correctement et que
le poids de la machine est correct. Lorsque la machine monte en èche, la machine
est trop légère ou l’équilibreur ne fonctionne pas correctement. Si l’équilibreuse ne
fonctionne pas correctement, contactez toujours votre revendeur.
N’utilisez pas le ET avec un outil pesant moins de 4,5 kg. Cela peut être
dangereux quand l’équilibreur lève l’outil vers vous.
N’utilisez pas le ET avec des sangles et boucles défectueuses.
• Porter le ET
Réglage du harnais
- Ajustez les bretelles selon vos préférences personnelles. (Fig. 2a)
- Si nécessaire, utilisez des extensions pour la ceinture (Fig. 2b)
- Vous pouvez régler la stabilité avec la glissière des épaules au cadre.
Mise en place de l’ET
- Desserrez les boutons pour ajuster l’espace entre vos épaules et le
pièce au-dessus de votre tête. (Fig 3).
Après le réglage, serrez les boutons pour verrouiller la position souhaitée.
- Desserrez la pince pour régler l’espace entre vos hanches et vos épaules (Fig 4).
Après le réglage, serrez la pince pour verrouiller la position souhaitée. Assurez-
vous qu’il y a un chevauchement d’au moins 4,5 cm des tubes.
3.2 Entretien et stockage
• Rangez l’ET en position de rangement (Fig. 5) dans un endroit sec hors de portée
des enfants.
• Nettoyez le ET après chaque utilisation, Retirez les résidus de bois et la poussière
à l’aide d’une brosse douce et ou d’un chion.
• Remplacez les pièces usées ou endommagées par sécurité. Utilisez des
accessoires et des pièces de rechange d’origine. Vous trouverez les références
dans la liste des pièces détachées.
• Quand le ET est démonté assurez-vous qu’aucun débris ne soient introduits
dans le tube.

4. Déballage et montage
L’ET est assemblé dans un emballage (Fig. 6). Pour utiliser l’ET, placez-le dans la bonne position de travail (Fig. 7).

5. Instructions d’utilisation
5.1 Préparation
Vériez les points suivants avant d’utiliser l’ET :
• Qu’il n’y a aucun dommage sur le ET ou le cable (Fig. 8)
• Que tous les boulons et écrous sont serrés fermement
Respectez toujours les instructions de sécurité et d’environnement !
5.2 Quelles machines peuvent être utilisées?
Le ET peut être utilisé pour réduire le poids des machines de plus de 4,5 kg jusqu’à
8 kg. Nous recommandons d’utiliser l’ET pour les taille-haies, les taille-haies sur perche
et soueuses à feuilles portées à la main.
Le ET n’est pas destiné à réduire le poids des machines pesant moins de
4,5 kg.Réduire le poids d’une machine pesant moins de 4,5 kg peut provoquer des situations dangereuses ! L’équilibreur
peut soulever la machine vers votre corps et/ou votre visage. Assurez-vous que le mousqueton n’interfère pas avec la
sécurité fonctions de l’outil joint.
6. Recyclage du harnais Trompe d’éléphant
Quand le ET arrive en n de vie, le ET doit être mis au rebut. Pour ce faire, prendre la mesure suivante :
• Amenez toutes les parties dans un centre spécialisé en recyclage des déchets.

7. Tableau problèmes / solutions

8. Conditions de garantie
8.1 Garantie
La garantie couvre les défauts d’usinage et les composants si le harnais ET est utilisé dans les conditions décrites dans ce
manuel. La garantie ne couvre pas les parties qui s’usent normalement. (Chapitre 3.3)
8.2 Durée
Pour un usage professionnel : 6 mois de garantie.
Pour un usage privé : 2 ans de garantie.
8.3 Conditions
La garantie couvre le remplacement des pièces défectueuses et la main d’œuvre correspondant, mais pas les frais de transport. La
facture d’achat fait oce de certicat de garantie.
8.4 Exceptions
La garantie est annulée lorsque les instructions d’utilisation et d’entretien, qui sont fournies avec le harnais ET, n’ont pas été
respectées, quand une mauvaise utilisation a été faite, lorsque les pièces de rechange ne sont pas d’origine ou lorsque des
réparateurs non qualiés sont intervenus sur le ET.
8.5 Où
Le service après-vente qualié, pour la réparation sous garantie, est disponible chez le revendeur où vous avez acheté le ET.
Demandez une facture avec la mention «Réparation sous Garantie ».
