Responsible disposal of the packaging
The packaging of your appliance has been selected from environmentally friendly materials and can usually be
recycled. Please ensure these are disposed of correctly.
Plastic wrapping can be a suffocation hazard for babies and young children, please ensure all packaging materials
are out of reach and are safely disposed of. Please ensure they are offered for recycling rather than throwing these
materials away.
Responsible disposal of the appliance
At the end of its working life, do not throw this appliance out with your household rubbish. An environmentally
friendly method of disposal will ensure that valuable raw materials can be recovered and used again.
Electrical and electronic appliances contain materials and substances which, if handled or disposed of incorrectly,
could be potentially hazardous to the environment and human health.
Observe any local regulations regarding the disposal of electrical consumer goods and dispose of it appropriately
for recycling.
The plug must be rendered useless and the cable cut off directly behind the appliance or the machine to
prevent misuse.

Safety Information and Warnings
Read this instruction manual thoroughly before first use and keep it in a safe place for future reference,
along with the warranty card and purchase receipt. The safety precautions enclosed herein reduce the
risk of fire, electric shock and injury when correctly adhered to.
Always follow basic safety precautions and accident prevention measures when using an electrical
appliance, including the following:
Electrical safety and cord handling
•Voltage: Before plugging in, ensure your outlet voltage and circuit frequency corresponds to the
voltage stated on the appliance rating label.
•Exclusive outlet: Plug the heater into a separate, properly earthed electrical outlet and ensure no
other appliance is in use on the same electrical circuit.
•No extension cord: Do not use the heater with an extension cord as this may overheat and cause
a fire risk.
•Protect from water: To protect against fire and electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug or the
heater in water or other liquid, or expose the electrical connections to water. Ensure your hands
are dry before handling the plug or switching on the heater.
•Damage: Check the power cord regularly for visible damage. If the cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, its authorised service centres or appropriately qualified personnel
in order to avoid any hazards.
WARNINGDo not pick up or operate the heater if the power cord, plug or housing is damaged
or after it malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any way.
In case of damage, contact GVA customer care for advice.
•Disconnect: Always switch the heater off and unplug it when it is not in use and before cleaning,
moving or storing it. Pull by the plug, do not pull the cord.
•Protect the power cord:
- Do not operate the heater with the power cord coiled up.
- Do not put the cord on top of, or wrap it around the heater.
-Do not twist or kink the cord or let it touch heated surfaces.
-Do not put any stress on the cord where it connects to the product.
-Do not carry the heater by the cord.
-Arrange the cord away from any traffic area so no one will trip over it.
- Do not run the cord under carpeting or cover it with rugs or runners.
•RCD: Unless your home is already fitted with a residual current device (safety switch), we
recommend installing an RCD with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA to
provide additional safety protection when using electrical appliances. See your electrician for
professional advice.

•This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
•Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
•This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-
control system.
•This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
- Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- Farm houses;
- By clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
Usage conditions and restrictions
•Domestic use only: This appliance is intended for indoor household use only. It is not suitable for
commercial, industrial or outdoor use. Do not use it for anything other than its intended purpose,
and only use it as described in this manual. Any other use may cause fire, electric shock or injury.
•No outdoor use: Do not use the heater outdoors or on wet surfaces. Protect it from liquid spills.
•Not a dryer: Do not use the heater to dry clothes.
•Usage restriction: This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliances by a person
responsible for their safety.
•Children: Supervise young children to ensure they do not play with the heater. Close supervision
is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
•Unattended: Never leave the heater unattended while it is in use. If it must be left operating while
you leave the room temporarily, make sure the heater is out of the reach of children and pets.
•Ventilation: Use this heater in a well-ventilated area. Do not insert or allow objects to enter any
openings. To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust openings in any manner.
Wipe air openings clean if they become clogged.
•Location: Place the heater on a flat, steady, stable, dry and heat-resistant surface when operating
to avoid overturning.
•Do NOT use the heater the following areas:
-Immediately in front of or below an electrical outlet.
-Near flammable materials, surfaces or substances (such as furniture, cushions, bedding, papers,
clothes and curtains). Keep such materials at least 1m from the front of the heater and away from
its sides and back.
-On or near surfaces that may be damaged by heat (such as delicate rugs, wall paper, floor
coverings not made of heat-resistant material).
On soft surfaces such as bedding or soft carpeting, where openings may become blocked.
-In any areas where petrol, paint or other flammable liquids are stored.
-In the immediate surroundings of a bath, shower, laundry tub or swimming pool, or where it
may fall into a tub or other water container.
-Outdoors, on wet surfaces, or where it can get splashed with water.
•Do not cover: Do not cover the heater in any way as it may overheat and become a fire risk.

•No timer: Do not use this heater with a programmer, timer or any other device that switches it on
automatically. If the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly, this could present a fire risk.
•While sleeping: Do not use the heater while sleeping; do not place it near a person who is
sleeping.
•WARNING Never insert fingers or allow objects to enter any openings as this may cause an
electric shock, fire, or damage to the heater.
•Cleaning: Always ensure the heater is kept clean and free of dust. Make sure it is disconnected
from the power supply and then clean it with a damp cloth (not wet). Do not use abrasive
cleaning products.
•Repair: The heater has no user-serviceable parts contained within. Do not attempt to repair,
disassemble or modify the appliance yourself. Contact GVA customer care if your heater is not
working properly.
•Liability: We accept no responsibility for any eventual injuries or damages caused by misuse of
the product and/or failure to follow these instructions.
CAUTION: HOT!
•This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns and personal injury, do not allow bare skin to
touch hot surfaces.
•Do not move or store the appliance while it is still hot. Allow it to cool before handling, cleaning
and storing.

Getting Started
Before first use
•Unpack the appliance and keep all packaging materials until you have made sure your new fan
heater is undamaged and in good working order.
•Plastic wrapping can be a suffocation hazard for babies and young children, so ensure all
packaging materials are out of their reach.
•Inspect the cord for damage orwear before each use. Donot use the heater ifits cord has been
damaged or is not working properly. In such a case, contact GVA customer care for advice.

Operation Instructions
NOTE: Always choose a safe location for the heater, keeping in mind the safety precautions outlined. Ensure all
packaging has been removed from the appliance before use. This appliance requires no installation, it should be
used solely as a portable appliance.
WARNING keep all objects at least 1 metre from the front, sides and rear of the appliance.
Heat control switch
The control switch positions are:
“0” = OFF
= Fan Only
“I” = Low Heat
“II” = High Heat
Check that the heat control switch is set to Off position before plugging the heater into the mains supply.
For greater economy, use the High Heat setting initially and then switch to the Low Heat setting.
For the Low and High Heat settings the fan remains at the same speed; only the element changes to create the
greater/lesser heat output.
Thermostat
Turn the thermostat knob clockwise until you reach the maximum temperature on the graduated scale. When the
desired room temperature is reached, slowly turn the knob anti-clockwise until the heater turns off (you will hear a
click). The heater will now cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature.
WARNING: In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.

Safety device
This appliance has three protection devices:
The rst device will automatically turn the appliance off if the appliance is not in the appropriate operating position.
The second device automatically disconnects & reconnects the appliance at a pre-set temperature.
The third device disconnects the appliance permanently in case of overheating, by means of a thermal fuse (it is non
resettable).
Care and cleaning
The heater requires regular cleaning to ensure trouble free operation:
Unplug the heater from the mains supply before cleaning.
Ensure that the heater has been allowed to cool down completely before cleaning.
Use a damp cloth (not wet) to wipe the exterior of the heater to remove dust and dirt.
Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust and uff from around the grills.
Never use solutions such as benzene, thinners or polishing agents.
Ensure the heater is dry before plugging back into the mains supply.
CAUTION the heater generates heat during use. Proper precautions must be taken to prevent the risk of burns,
scalds, res or other damage to persons.
Do not use this heater with a programmer, timer, separate remote-control system or any other device that switches
the heater on automatically.
Do not attempt to dismantle the heater. There are no user serviceable parts. For service or repair, contact an
authorised electrical service technician.
Proof of purchase
To receive warranty retain receipt as proof of purchase.
