This document describes the features, restrictions and guidelines, open problems, and workarounds
of WA6300 fit APs. Before you use this version in a live network, back up the configuration and test
the version to avoid software upgrade affecting your live network.
Use this document in conjunction with the documents listed in “Related documentation”.

performing an upgrade.

Restrictions and Cautions
1. Some Intel NICs do not support 802.11ax. For more information, access the Intel official
website at
https://www.intel.cn/content/www/cn/zh/support/articles/000054799/network-and-io/wireless-n
etworking.html.
2. The value of the port-number argument in the poe port command in WA6330 AP view
was changed to be the same as the actual port sequence number.
3. You do not have the privilege to execute commands after logging in to an AP through Telnet,
and you must restore the default settings of the AP when the following conditions are met:
1) The AP operates in fit AP mode and the running configuration has been saved on the AP.
2) You upgrade the software version of the AP from a version earlier than 2442 to 2442 or a
later version.
Workaround: Clear the configuration saved on the AP before upgrading.
Open problems and workarounds
1. When both WPA and WPA2 are configured, clients might fail to come online. Do not configure
WPA.

Symptom: For a WA6320H that uses an HK region code, changed the max transmission power
of channels on the 5 GHz radio that have a max transmission power of 17 dBM to 20 dBM.

Symptom: Clients might be unable to associate with an AP after the AP has been running for a
long time.

Condition: This symptom might occur if a cloud-managed AP connects to the Cloudnet platform
for upgrade.
Symptom: Upgrade of a cloud-managed APs fails because of insufficient storage space if the
AP is upgraded through connecting to the Cloudnet platform.
Resolved problems in WA6300-CMW710-R2444
202103190944 (Cloud)
Symptom: An AP operating in cloud mode cannot supply power through PoE.
Condition: This symptom might occur if a PoE out port is enabled to supply power.

Symptom: An AP operating in fit mode is displayed as an anchor AP in the output from the
display wlan device role command.
Condition: This symptom occurs if the display wlan device role command is executed.

Symptom: The uplink performance of the AP drops after the option signal-ignore
enable rssi command is executed.
Condition: This symptom might occur after the option signal-ignore enable rssi
command is executed.

Procedure
1. Configure AP settings on the AC:
# Create a manual AP named WA6320 and set the AP model to WA6320.
<Sysname> system-view
[Sysname] wlan ap wa6320 model WA6320
# Specify the serial number of the AP.
[Sysname-wlan-ap-wa6320] serial-id 219801A1NN8169E16844

2. Configure DHCP on the AC:
# Enable DHCP.
[Sysname] dhcp enable
# Create a DHCP address pool and enter its view.
[Sysname] dhcp server ip-pool dhcp1601
# Assign an IP subnet for the DHCP address pool for dynamic address allocation.

The AP automatically establishes a CAPWAP tunnel with the AC, and then loads the software
image from the AC. You can execute the display wlan ap name wa6320 command to verify
that the AP is downloading the software image.

Upgrading from the Cloudnet
This feature can upgrade only online devices. To upgrade offline devices, download the images to a
local directory and upgrade the devices locally. To download images, see Figure 2.

Upgrading specific devices
5. On the top navigation bar, click Network.
6. From the left navigation pane, select Maintain > Upgrade.
7. Select the target branch and site from the upper left corner of the work pane.
8. On the Upgrade by Device tab, expand the Filter menu, and filter devices as needed.
9. Select the target devices, and then click Upgrade.

11. On the top navigation bar, click Network.
12. From the left navigation pane, select Maintain > Upgrade.

14. Click the Upgrade by Model tab, expand the Filter menu, and filter devices as needed.

15. To upgrade all devices of specific models, perform the following tasks:
a. Select the target device models, and then click Upgrade.

16. To upgrade specific devices of a device model, click the device quantity link for the model. In
the window that opens, select the target devices and then click Upgrade.
Viewing upgrade details
17. On the top navigation bar, click Network.
18. From the left navigation pane, select Maintain > Upgrade.
19. Select the target branch and site from the upper left corner of the work pane.
20. Click the Upgrade Details tab.
Devices Being Upgraded—Contains current version, progress, and upgrade time
information.
Upgraded Devices—Contains current version, upgrade state, and failure reason
information.

Upgrading from the Web interface
You can upgrade the software of an AP from the Web interface when the AP operates in cloud AP
mode or anchor AC mode.
Preparing for the upgrade
Set up the upgrade environment as shown in Figure 6 or Figure 7. Make sure the AP and PC can
reach each other.

Upgrading from the Web interface
Web browser requirements
As a best practice, use the following Web browsers:
Internet Explorer 10 or higher.
Firefox 30.0.0.5269 or higher.
Chrome 35.0.1916.114 or higher.
Safari 5.1 or higher.
To access the Web interface, you must use the following browser settings:
Accept the first-party cookies (cookies from the site you are accessing).
Enable active scripting or JavaScript, depending on the Web browser.
If you are using a Microsoft Internet Explorer browser, you must enable the following security
settings:
Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins.
Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting.

To ensure correct display of webpage contents after software upgrade or downgrade, clear data
cached by the browser before you log in.
Logging in to the AP from the Web interface
21. Enter the IP address of the AP in the address bar of the browser.
22. On the login page, enter the username and password. By default, the username and password
are admin and h3capadmin, respectively.

Saving and backing up the configuration file
23. Click the system view tab at the bottom of the page.
24. From the navigation tree, select System > Management.
25. Click the Configuration tab.
26. Click Save Running Configuration.
27. In the dialog box that opens, select to the next-startup configuration file, and then click
Apply.

28. On the Configuration tab, click Export Running Configuration to download the configuration
file.

Upgrading the software
29. From the navigation tree, select System > Management.
30. Click the Upgrade tab.
31. Click Upgrade.
32. In the dialog box that opens, select a software image file and select Reboot now.

34. After the AP restarts, log in to the AP from the Web interface.
35. Click the system view tab at the bottom of the page.
36. From the navigation tree, select System > Management.
37. Click the Configuration tab.
