This document provides a brief guide for installing H3C SR8800-X routers. For more installation
information, see H3C SR8800-X Routers Installation Guide.
本文档用于为H3C SR8800-X路由器的硬件安装提供简明快捷的操作指导。关于安装过程及注意事项更
全面、完整的介绍，请参见《H3C SR8800-X路由器安装指导》。
The installation procedure is similar for the SR8800-X routers. The following uses an SR8808-X
router as an example unless otherwise specified.
H3C SR8800-X路由器各模块安装步骤类似，如无特殊说明，均以SR8808-X为例。
The figures in this document are for illustration only.

Safety recommendations
To avoid equipment damage or bodily injury, read the following safety recommendations before
installation. Note that the recommendations do not cover every possible hazardous condition.
为了避免在安装路由器过程中对人和设备造成伤害，请您在安装前仔细阅读本节的安全建议。实际情况中包
括但不限于以下安全注意事项：
To prevent ESD damage, always wear an ESD wrist strap and make sure it is reliably grounded
before you touch the switch, cards, or PCB. 为防止人体静电损坏敏感元器件，请您在接触设备、单
板、IC芯片等之前佩戴防静电腕带，并将防静电腕带的另一端良好接地。

Do not install the router, FRUs, or cables when the router is powered on. 禁止带电安装设备、模块和线缆。

To avoid equipment damage or bodily injury, make sure the router is reliably grounded before
powering on the router. 请您确保设备接地后再接通电源，以免危及人身和设备安全。

To ensure good ventilation, install a filler panel in an unused slot. 为保证设备正常的通风散热，对于
未使用的安装槽位，请务必安装上相应的假面板。

Installing the router
1. Use a pattern tool to record the installation holes of the mounting brackets and mark the
cage nut holes on the rack posts accordingly.
2. Install cage nuts on the square holes.
This section only lists the most commonly used installation accessories. 本节介绍了安装过程中最常
用的安装附件。
(1) 您可以使用参照物（比如卷尺）先对照挂耳上的安装孔位标识好安装孔位，再将参照物与
机柜方孔条对照，用记号笔在方孔条上标出浮动螺母的安装孔位。
(2) 在对应位置安装浮动螺母组件。

Installing the router in a rack 安装路由器到机柜
Do not hold the handle of the fan tray, power module, or the back panel of the chassis, or the air vents of
chaSSis to carry the chassis. Any attempt to carry the router with these parts might cause equipment
damage or even bodily injury.请勿试图通过抓握设备模块（风扇框、电源）把手、机箱通风孔或机箱后面
板拉手来进行设备的搬运，否则可能因该部件无法承重而引起设备损坏，甚至会伤害到您的身体。
Use a minimum of two people to move the router. For heavy models, use a mechanical lift as a best
practice. 要求多人配合（不少于2人）搬运设备，对于较重机型， 推荐您使用机械设备搬运。

After placing the router on the slide rails, Do not leave go of your hands immediately because this
might tip the router, damaging the router or even causing bodily injury. 将机箱放至滑道后，请确保机
箱放置平稳后再松手，以免机箱倾倒而损坏设备，甚至伤害您的身体。

Grounding the router 路由器接地
Use the supplied grounding cable (yellow-green grounding Cable). 为了保证良好的接地效果，请使用
随机附带的接地线（黄绿双色保护接地电缆）。
Connect the grounding cable to the grounding system in the equipment room. Do not connect it to a
fire main or lightning rod.消防水管和建筑物的避雷针接地都不是正确的接地位置，路由器的接地线应
该连接到机房的工程接地。

Installing FRUs
Before installing a card in the chassis, make sure the connectors on the card are not broken or
blocked. 安装前，请检查单板的连接器是否有破损和堵塞，以免对机箱背板造成损坏。

Make sure the circuit breaker at the power input end is off when you connect the AC power cord to
the terminals on the power source. 连接交流电源线前，请您确保连接电源线的输入端空气开关置于
断开状态。

Make sure each power cord has a separate circuit breaker. 请保证每根电源线都有独立的输入断路器。
Press the power module handle inward until it is secured in place before fastening screws. 紧固安装
螺钉之前，请将电源模块拉手归位。
Provide a circuit breaker for each power module and make sure the circuit breaker is off before
installation. 请为每个电源单独配一个空气开关，安装前请使空气开关处于断开状态。
Do not install power modules of different models on the same router. 不同型号的电源模块不能混插在
同一台设备上。
To avoid power module damage or bodily injury, move a power module by supporting its bottom
instead of holding its handle. 搬运电源模块时，请您用手托住模块的底部，切勿提着模块拉手进行搬
运，以免损坏电源模块甚至伤害您的身体。

Obtaining documentation
Powering on the router and verifying its operation 路由器上电并检查
Make sure the power cords are connected correctly and the power source is operating correctly. Then
power on the router. Verify that the router is operating correctly by observing the LEDs on the router. For
more information about the LEDs, see H3C SR8800-X Router Installation Guide. 确认电源线已经正确连接
到外部供电系统且供电系统已正常供电，使设备上电。请您根据设备各部件的指示灯正常状态来检查设备是
否正常。关于设备指示灯状态的详细描述，请您参见《H3C SR8800-X路由器安装指导》 中的“附录C 产品
指示灯介绍”。

Accessing the router
Connecting the console cable 配置电缆连接
To access the router for the first time, use a console cable to connect the console port or USB
console port on the router. This example uses the console port. 当您首次登录设备时，只能通过
Console口/USB Console口登录。下图中，以通过Console口登录设备举例。
