Safety Precautions
Please read these simple guidelines. Not following them may be dangerous or illegal.
For further information, see the section of “Safety Information”.
Do not switch the phone on when mobile phone use is prohibited or
when it may cause interference or danger.
Do not place your phone and its accessories in containers with
strong electromagnetic field.
Obey all local laws. Always keep your hands free to operate the
vehicle while driving. Your first consideration while driving should be
road safety.
Hospitals or health care facilities may be using equipment that could
be sensitive to external radio frequency energy. Follow any
regulations or rules in force.
Do not use the phone at a refueling point. Do not use near fuel or
chemicals.
Follow any restrictions. Wireless devices can cause interference in
aircraft.
Keep the phone and all its parts, including accessories, out of the
reach of small children.

Use only approved batteries and chargers. Disconnect the charger
from the power source when it is not in use. Do not leave the battery
connected to a charger for more than a week, since overcharging
may shorten its lift.
Please remove the battery only after the phone is switched off
normally, otherwise it could cause unpredictable damage for the
phone.
Only qualified personnel should service the phone or install the
phone in a vehicle. Faulty installation or service may be dangerous
and may invalidate any warranty applicable to the device.

Notice:
Standby time is the handset continuous working time without making phone calls.
Standby time and talking time are both depending on mobile phone using situations,
network situations and environments.

Left loft key In standby mode, press Left soft key to Main menu.
Right soft key In standby mode, press right soft key to Contacts list.
End calls or reject calls.
Up key In standby mode, press up key to Messages menu.
Down key In standby mode, press Down key to FM.
Left key In standby mode, press left key to Profiles.
Right key In standby mode, press Right key to My shortcuts. [The
default is Scheduler].
Ok key In standby mode, short press OK key to TATA zone; long
press OK key to SMS services.
C Send key Making or answering a call.
In standby mode, press C Send key to Dialed calls.
G Send key Making or answering a call.
In standby mode, press G Send key to Dialed calls.
Number keys In standby mode, press and hold [1] to access your Voice
mail server. Enter numbers, letters, and some special
characters.
[*] key
In the standby mode, short press enter “*”, "P" symbol;
long press this key to lock the keypad.
In the edit mode, press to switch between upper case,
lower case and sentence case.

[#] key In the standby mode, short press enter “#” symbol; long
press to enable Meeting mode.
In the edit mode, press to switch input method.
[0] key In standby mode, press enter “0”, "+"symbol.
Side key Adjust volume.
USB connector Plug the travel adapter into the charger connector.
Headset jack Before using headset, pull in the headset to this hole.
End key/Power key Short press Power key close opened window and switch to
idle screen. Long press Power key Power on or Power off.

Indicating C network signal strength.
Indicating G network signal strength.
Indicating in call status.
Indicating without network.
You have one or several missed call.
Indicating the mobile phone is under roaming G network.

2 Getting Started
Insert the RUIM/SIM card
1. With the back of the phone facing you, push
down and slide the cover off in the direction

shown.
2. Push the RUIM/SIM card into the RUIM/SIM card
holder.
Insert and charge the battery
1. Align the gold-colored contacts of the battery with
the battery compartment contacts and press the battery into place.
2. Replace the back cover by aligning the tabs and sliding the cover until it locks into
place.
3. Plug the charger into a standard AC wall outlet.
4. Connect the USB data cable to the Charger connector.
3 Basic Functions
Switching On/Off
zIn the power off status, long press the Power Key to switch on the phone.
zIn the power on status, long press the Power Key to switch off the phone.
Making phone call
Making phone call using the keypad
1. In the standby mode, enter the phone number you want to call, and press the C
Send Key or GSend Key to make the call.
To delete a character to the left of the cursor, press <Clear>.
2. To end the call, press the Right soft Key.

Making phone call using contacts
1. In the standby mode, press <Contacts> or press <Menu> to access the Main
menu >Contacts.
2. View the Contacts list; select the contact you want to call.
3. Press <Options> and select Call >Via CDMA or Via GSM to make the phone call;
or press the CSend Key or GSend Key to make the call.
Making phone call using last dialed number
1. In the standby mode, press the CSend Key or G Send Key to display the last
numbers Dialed calls.
2. Scroll to the number or name you wish to redial, and press <Options> and select
Call >Via CDMA,Via GSM or press the G Send Key or C Send key to make
the call.
Making phone call using speed dial
In standby mode, long press a number key to make phone call. See “Speed dial” P40
for more information about configuring speed dial.
Answering the call
Answer or silence an incoming call
1. To answer the call, press the CSend Key or GSend Key or select <Accept>.
Press <Silence> to mute the ringing tone before you answer the call.
2. To reject the call, press the Right soft Key or select <Reject>.
Adjust the earpiece volume
Press the navigation key of your phone to adjust the volume of the earpiece, during a
call.

Answer a call with the keypad locked
To answer a call with the keypad locked, simply press the CSend Key or GSend
Key.
When you end or reject the call, the keypad automatically locked again. For more
details, see “Keypad lock” P13.
Operations during a call
During a call press <Options> and one of the following options:
¾Hold/Retrieved: The currently participant is put on active or hold.
¾Mute on (off): To mute or unmute your phone during a call.
¾DTMF on (off): To enable or disable the DTMF tone of your phone during a call.
¾Handsfree on (off): To activate or deactivate the loudspeaker.
¾Voice privacy:There are two options for your choice: Standard and Enhanced.
¾New call: Initiate a conference call. See H” Make a conference call” P11 for
information.
¾Contacts: To the contacts list.
¾Messages: To the messages menu.
¾Phone info:Shows the details version information for the phone.
Keypad lock
To prevent the keys from being accidentally pressed, you can lock the keypad. The
keypad lock can prevent you form accidental calls.
If the keypad is locked, it unlocks when you receive a call. After the call, the lock
automatically locked again.
When the keypad is locked, calls may be possible to the official emergency number
programmed in your phone.
Press * key for more then 2 seconds to unlock the keypad.

4 Text Entry
Your phone provides following text input methods:
zEnglish input method: input English characters;
zNumeric input method: input Numeric characters;
Input method Icon Letter case
en Lower case
En Sentence case text, only available at
the beginning of a sentence.
Intelligent(English)
EN Upper case
abc Lower case
Abc Sentence case text, only available at
the beginning of a sentence.
Multi-tap(English)
ABC Upper case
Numeric 123 -
Change the input method
zPress [*] to switch between upper case, sentence case and lower case;
zPress [#] to switch between Intelligent (English), Multi-tap (English) and Numeric
mode.
Notice:
Press [1] to insert common symbol under the intelligent mode or multi-tap mode.

5 Call history
Call history stores information about the missed, received, or
dialed calls. It also adds the total duration of all calls. When the
number of calls exceeds the maximum, the most last call
replaces the oldest.
Missed calls
1. In the standby mode, press <Menu> to access the Main menu > Call history;
2. Go to Missed calls, Received calls,or Dialed calls, select a call record;
Press <Options> to access the following options:
¾View: View the time of the record.
¾Call: Dial the number Via CDMA or Via GSM.
¾Save number:Save the number to the Contacts.
¾Send message: Send message to the selected number.
¾Delete: Delete the selected record.
¾Delete all: Delete all records.
¾Add to blacklist: Add the number to blacklist.
¾Add to whitelist:Add the number to whitelist.
Received calls
The received calls are calls that have been answered or rejected.
Dialed calls
The Dialed calls are previous calls you have dialed from your phone.

Delete
You can delete any missed calls, received calls, dialed calls, or all calls from phone
memory.
Call duration
You can view the duration of Last call,Received calls,Dialed calls,All calls or
Reset timer.
6 Messages
Your phone is capable of creating; sending and receiving text
messages (support long SMS).
Write message
Create and send messages.
1. In the standby mode, press <Menu> to access the Main menu >Messages >
Write message;
2. Enter your message.
3. Press <Options> and select Send >Via CDMA,Via GSM.
4. Enter a destination number.
To send the message to more than one recipient, fill in additional destination
fields.
5. Press the OK key to send the message.
Using options while writing SMS messages

While composing a message, press <Options> to access the following options:
¾Send: Send the message Via CDMA or Via GSM.
¾Insert symbol: Insert a special character.
¾Insert smileys: Insert an expression.
¾Insert templates: Insert a predefined template or personalized template.
¾Insert number: Add a number from Contacts.
¾Save to draft:Save the message to the drafts folder.
¾Priority: Message sending priority levels are classified as: Normal, Urgent and
Emergency.
¾Delivery report: Set the network to inform you when your messages have been
delivered.
¾Validity period:The SMS valid period has the following options: Default, 1 hour,
12 hours, 1 day, 1 week or Max value.
¾Deferred delivery: There are four choices of deferred delivery: Immediate, After
1 hour, After 5 hours and After 1 day.
Inbox
Text messages are automatically stored in the inbox when they are received. A
notification appears when a message arrives in the inbox.
1. In the standby mode, press <Menu> to access the Main menu >Messages >
Inbox;
2. While viewing a message, press <Options> to access the following options:
¾Reply: Reply to the sender via SMS.
¾Forward: Edit and forward the message to other people.
¾Delete: Delete the message.
¾Use number: Save the number to contacts, call the number Via CDMA or Via
GSM, send message to the number, or add the number to blacklist or whitelist.
