The balancedvoltageinputorcurrent-modeinputsaremostdesirableforminimizing

Sourceswithcurrent-modeoutputsare rare andaremostlikelytohavean RCA

• Earthloopgeneratedmainshumandrippleareminimized.
• Cable,plugandsocketgeneratedinterferenceisminimized(from poorconnections

Onealso hastoquestionthebeliefthatan amplifiershouldbecapableofsuch
unreasonably highoutputcurrents.Consider the followingfacts:
• Mostloudspeakershaveimpedancesof4ohms(not1or 2ohms).
• Allvalveamplifiersareoutputcurrentlimited,andyetthe industrydoesnot
considerthisaproblem,whichisinconsistentwiththe belief thatmaximum

• Allwelldesignedloudspeakershave impedancesthatdonotdeviateexcessively

• Ifindeeda4or8ohmloudspeakerdoeshave animpedanceof1ohmata
