Do not dispose of Ni-Mh batteries in the regular trash,
municipal waste stream or by re as batteries may leak or
explode. Do not open, short circuit, or mutilate batteries as
injury may occur. Preserve our environment by recycling
Ni-Mh batteries or disposing of them in accordance with
Local, State, and Federal regulations. Do not mix old and
new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (Carbon-Zinc),
or rechargeable (Nickel Cadmium) batteries.
Warranty
WHAT IS COVERED
The manufacturer warrants this xture to be free from defects in materials and workmanship when installed and used under
normal operating conditions for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase. This warranty covers all component parts and
extends only to the replacement of a defective xture or components; it does not cover failure due to improper installation,
misuse, mishandling, or damage incurred in transit.

ƑSlide the light head (A) into the pole (B).

NOTE: If the ground is hard and packed,
moisten the ground with water before inserting
the stake to avoid breakage. Use a rubber
mallet (not included), if necessary, to gently tap
the stake into the ground.

ground stake (C) until it is ush.

The light does not come on.
Problem
ƑThere is plastic over the solar cell.
ƑThe pull tab was not removed.
ƑThe batteries are dirty.
ƑThe batteries are dead.
Possible Cause
ƑMake sure there is no plastic over the
solar cell.
ƑMake sure that the pull tab is removed.
ƑRemove batteries, wipe both ends with
a clean dry cloth, and replace batteries.
ƑTest batteries by replacing with alkaline
batteries and placing the light in a dark
room. DO NOT leave the alkaline
batteries in the light. Replace with new
batteries if needed.
Solution
First time use
1Replacing the battery
ƑRemove the pull tab (1) in between the battery and its
connector.
ƑThe solar light needs to charge in full sunlight for 8 - 12
hours to allow the rechargeable battery to reach
maximum capacity. For optimum performance, allow
the battery to charge in full sunlight.
ƑCarefully pull the light head (A) off of the pole (B).
ƑUse a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw (1)
holding the battery cover in place.
ƑOpen the cap from the bottom of of the light head (A).
ƑRemove the old battery and replace with a new Ni-Mh
AA 350 mAh rechargeable battery.
ƑClose the cap.
ƑReturn the screw removed earlier.
ƑPlace the light head (A) back on the pole (B).

FAQ
What type of maintenance should I perform on the lights?
Although it is not mandatory, some people choose to periodically clean their lights. This can be done with a nonabrasive soap,
sponge and water. You may also need to replace the batteries.
Will I need to / can I replace the LED in my solar light?
The solar lights have LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) because of their long lifetime and low power consumption. The LED is not
replaceable.
Can I use any other type of battery or different mAh rated battery?
Yes, you may put Ni-Cd or Ni-Mh (Nickel Metal Hydride) rechargeable batteries. Higher mAh is allowed. (Battery capacity,
measured in mAh, is marked on the
side of the battery.) Do NOT use Alkaline batteries. Alkaline batteries are not rechargeable and will burst or explode releasing the
corrosive chemicals inside.
How long will my batteries / lights last?
Ni-Cd batteries should last for 1000 daily cycles, Ni-Mh for 500 daily cycles, Ni-Mh LSD (low self-discharge) for 800 daily cycles
and the LED bulbs should last 20 years.

insertarla en la tierra.

La luminaria no enciende.
Problema
ƑHay un plástico sobre la celda solar.
ƑNo retiró la pestaña.
ƑLas baterías están sucias.
ƑLas baterías están agotadas.
Causa probable
Ƒ Asegúrese de que no haya ningún plástico
sobre la celda solar.
Ƒ Asegúrese de retirar la pestaña.
Ƒ Retire las baterías, limpie ambos extremos
con un paño limpio y seco, y colóquelas de
nuevo en su sitio.
Ƒ Pruebe las baterías sustituyéndolas con
baterías alcalinas y colocando la luminaria en
una habitación oscura. NO deje las baterías
alcalinas dentro de la luminaria. Reemplácelas
con baterías nuevas si es necesario.
Solución
Uso por primera vez
1Reemplazo de la batería
ƑExtraiga la pestaña (1) que se encuentra entre la batería
y su conector.
ƑEs necesario cargar la lámpara solar a la luz directa del
sol durante 8 a 12 horas para permitir que la batería
recargable alcance su capacidad máxima. Para un
rendimiento óptimo, permita que la batería se cargue
bajo la luz directa del sol.
Ƒ Retire cuidadosamente la cabeza de la luminaria (A) del
poste (B).
ƑUse un destornillador Phillips para extraer el (1) tornillo
que sujeta la cubierta de la batería en su lugar.
ƑAbra la tapa de la parte inferior de la cabeza de la
luminaria (A).
ƑExtraiga la batería agotada y reemplácela con una batería
recargable nueva tipo AA de Ni-Mh de 350 mAh.
Ƒ Cierre la tapa.
Ƒ Coloque de nuevo el tornillo que quitó antes.
ƑColoque de nuevo la cabeza de la luminaria (A) en el poste (B).

Preguntas frecuentes
¿Qué tipo de mantenimiento debería darles a las luminarias?
Aunque no es obligatorio, algunas personas optan por limpiar periódicamente sus luminarias. Esto puede hacerse con jabón sin
abrasivos, esponja y agua. También quizás necesite cambiarles las baterías.
¿Necesitaré o podré cambiarle el foco LED a mi luminaria solar?
Las luminarias solares contienen focos LED (diodos emisores de luz) debido a su larga vida y bajo consumo de energía. El foco
LED no es reemplazable.
¿Puedo utilizar otro tipo de baterías o baterías con una clasicación mAh diferente?
Sí, puede usar baterías recargables Ni-Cd o Ni-Mh (hidruro de metal y níquel). Se puede utilizar un mAh más elevado (la
capacidad de la batería, medida en mAh, está indicada en uno de sus lados). NO utilice baterías alcalinas. Las baterías alcalinas
no son recargables y se agrietan o explotan, derramando las sustancias químicas corrosivas en su interior.
¿Cuánto durarán mis baterías o las luminarias?
Las baterías de Ni-Cd deben durar 1,000 ciclos diarios, las de Ni-Mh 500 ciclos diarios y las de Ni-MH LSD (baja autodescarga)
800 ciclos diarios; los focos LED deben durar 20 años.
