1. Brief introduction
HLK-RM08K is a new low-cost embedded UART-ETH-WIFI module (serial port - Ethernet -
Wireless network) developed by Shenzhen Hi-Link (HK) co., Ltd.
The product is a low power consumption WIFI module,supports EEE802.11b/g/n wireless
protocol with small size and smart use,ully transparent transmission UART module, built-in TCP /
IP protocol stack, enabling users short development cycle. It just needs host computer,WEB
browser or APP to set up parameters, making the connection between UART and network.
HLK-RM08K has stable performance and flexible use, meeting kinds of requirements of users. and
strong technical supports could be provided. Also, it could be customized,such as WEB
interface ,mobile phone app and so on.
一. UART to Ethernet configuration method
Method 1：Via UART to configure
1. Restore factory setting. Power on 5V/350MA, and wait for 20s. Pull down ES1 pin more then
6S after setting up. The system will restart automatically. Then the system is on the factory mode.
2. Power on module and wait for 10s until the LED is flashing.Make the connection of two uart
ports of DB9 and PC.Or use USB-UART cable connect the HLK-RM08K development board.

3. Short press ESO button, start the configuration tool,choose the uart number then click search
module. It will return at (:Found Device at COM7(115200)! in the text box.Click inquiry
configuration to read the current parameters.
4. Configuration parameters
Working mode selection: : UART to Ethernet
Network protocol select: TCP server

Network IP : Remote IP does not work as server
Port :TCP server set monitoring port.
UART parameter: Change it as required
Parameters configurations are as follows,
Disable DHCP, configure it as static IP.
Apply the configuration, WIFI and LAN are closed.
Note : At this mode, local IP and WAN IP must be different network segment.Or could not
access internet.

5. Data transmission between TCP and Serial port.
Apply all the parameters, the module will reset. Or power on module again,connecting the net
ports of PC and RM08K. Chose all the network cards, configure HLK-RM08K as follows,
ping 192.168.16.254 :Start ----Run ----cmd

Set up serial configure tool and network testing tool, testing the data if could be sent.
Then the serial port and ethernet could send data each other.
6. The configuration method of serial 1 is same as serial 0.

Method 2 Via network port configuration
1. Restore factory setting and set up the module, use the network cable to connect LAN 2 and
PC. Configure PC as follows.
ping 192.168.16.254 :Start----Run ---Cmd

2. Enter the site http://192.168.16.254, enter the user name and password admin, then transfer
to the configuration page.
Configure IP and DHCP, Click apply to wait for the module restarting.
3. Once the module restart,change the net cable from LAN2 to LAN 1 then refer to the manual
from step 5 of method 1.
