Non-contact infraredthermometer
Instruction manual
1Introduction
Compact,rugged and easytouse. Justaimand pushthe
button, read currentsurfacetemperaturesinless than a
second.Safelymeasuresurface temperaturesofhot,
hazardousorhard-to-reach objectswithoutcontact.
Howit works
Infrared thermometermeasuresthe surfacetemperature
ofan object.Theunit sopticssenseemitted, reflected,
and transmitted energywhich iscollectand focused onto
adetector.Theunit selectronicstransmitted energy
which isdisplayon the unit.Forincreased easeand
accuracythe laserpointermakesaiming even more
precise.
Cautions
Infrared thermometershouldbe protected forthe
following:
--EMF(electro-magneticfields) fromarcwelders,
induction heaters.
--Thermalshock(causebylarge orabruptambient
temperaturechangesallow1hours forunit tostabilize
before use).
--Donotleavethe unit onornearobjectsofhigh
temperature.
Warning
Donotpointlaserateyeorindirectlyoffreflective
surfaces.
1. When take measurement,pointthermometertoward
the objecttobemeasuredandholdtheyellow
trigger.Theobjectundertestshouldbe large than
the spotsize calculated bythe fieldofview
diagram.
2. Distance spotsize:Asthe distance fromthe
objectincrease, the spotsize ofmeasuring area
becomeslarge.
3. Fieldofview: Make surethe targetislargerthan the
unit sspotsize. The smallerthe targetthe close
measuredistance. When accuracyiscritical,make
surethe targetisatleasttwice aslarge asthe spot
size.
4. Emissivity:Mostorganicmaterialsand painted or
oxidized surfaceshavean emissivityof0.97.
Inaccuratereadingswill result frommeasuring
shinyorpolished metalsurfaces.Tocompensate,
coverthe surface tobe measured withmasking tape
orflatblack paint.Measurethe tape orpainted
surface when the tapeorpainted reach the same
temperature asthe materialunderneath.
