the MISTINGJETS
(page 7), where your water
source will come from
(page 6) and where the
supply pipeline will run
®Plan where to attach
pipework and a route to
easily attach it together

Understand your Water Supply
ÁOnly fresh tap water
is recommended as
bore or dam water may
contain sediment that
will block MISTING JETS
®The misting system uses
very little water volume.
Each jet uses 2 litres an hour
®This misting system
is designed to run
from your household
mains tap pressure
®Please operate within
the pressure ratings
listed on page 3
®The higher the pressure,
the finer the droplets, the
quicker and more effectively
they evaporate and cool the
area. A normal household
water supply is usually at
an adequate pressure
®The MISTING TUBE can
be connected directly
to a garden tap
®You can use a garden
hose to bring water
from a tap to the start
of the MISTINGTUBE
work (page 12)
®To easily maintain access
to your garden tap, install
a manifold as shown below
Installation
Our tap outlet manifolds
convert one garden tap
into independent,
manually operated
outlets. Giving you more
flexibility in the garden.

How to Position Misting Jets
ÁPosition MISTING JETS away from where
people sit as the jets may drip water
ÁToo much water can be a problem. The air can become
saturated and even wet the people and objects in the space
®Factors to consider are:
• Spacing of MISTING JETS [a] along MISTING TUBE [b]
• Location of jets over tables or chairs
• How many jets in a particular area
®There are no fixed rules to how you position the MISTINGJETS.
The more jets you have, the more water you will use
and potentially the cooler the space will become
LSpace jets between 600mm and 1000mm apart
LLocate jets away from tables and sitting areas if possible
LTry to create a curtain of mist on two sides of the area being cooled
Spacing 600 to 1000mm for effective
coverage of chosen area

Benefits of a Misting Timer
LTo achieve the best misting results install a MISTING TIMER
LRegulate the amount of water entering a space by adjusting
the “ON” times and “OFF” times of the timer
LMISTING TIMERS allow you to make these settings in
seconds, where other timers may not have this feature
LWe have several Tap Timers with misting settings

How to Join Misting Tube to Compression Fittings
ÁOnce tubing is installed
to ELBOW, TEE or
JOINER CONNECTORS
it cannot be removed
1. Measure and cut
MISTINGTUBE to desired
lengths for effective
coverage of chosen area
®This system features
“compression fittings”:
• These fittings grip
the MISTING TUBE
and prevent it
loosening or leaking
• To ensure a good
joint, the misting tube
must be cut square
and free of burrs
• To quickly ensure
a square cut, use a
MISTING TUBE CUTTER
(sold separately)
The Misting Kit Plastic
Tube Cutter gives you
the ultimate flexibility to
build your misting system
your way. The quickest
way to ensure a square
cut, everytime.

How to Join Misting Tube to Compression Fittings (continued)
2. Once MISTING TUBE
is cut, the compression
fitting can be installed
3. Bring the two parts
together, level and straight
4. Push MISTING TUBE
[c] in while twisting the
compression fitting [d]
5. The MISTING TUBE [e]
should enter the fitting [f]
at least 10mm
ÁOnce tubing is pushed
into the barbed fitting
it cannot be removed
ÁDo not push tubing in
more than 10mm–this
will cover and block
the spray outlet

Installing your Misting System
1. Start at the garden tap or water source point. If
using a GARDENHOSE [g], it is recommended you
install a 12mm SPRINKLERADAPTOR [h] (sold
separately) into MISTING FILTER [i] as shown
ÁIf your GARDENHOSE is running in the sun, ensure
it is a good quality hose that can withstand the
pressure when the water and hose may get heated
ÁIt is highly recommended that the
MISTINGFILTER be installed immediately after
the connection to the water source

Installing your Misting System (continued)
2. Run MISTING TUBE [i]
to a low position to install
AUTO DRAIN VALVE [k]
using THREADEDTEE
CONNECTOR [j]
®Valve automatically releases
pressure and “dumps”
water in MISTINGTUBE
“above” the level of
AUTODRAIN VALVE
when water is turned off
®Valve stops MISTING JETS
from “dripping” and the
build up of precipitated salts
(like calcium and iron)
3. Use ELBOW CONNECTOR
[m] to go around corners
4. Work out the spacing of
MISTING JETS and cut
MISTING TUBE [n] to length
and install THREADEDTEE
CONNECTORS [o]
600mm–1000mm apart

5. Finish the line with
the THREADED END
CONNECTOR [p]
6. Position HOSE CLAMPS[q]
70–80mm each side of
compression fittings to
attach MISTING TUBE[s]
to wall or beams
ÁConnect each section
of MISTING TUBE before
pinning to walls or beams
ÁAvoid installing
MISTINGTUBE in direct
sunlight as this may
cause the tube to go
brittle over time
®HOSE CLAMPS use
a strong masonry nail
that should not bend
when you hammer it into
timber or masonry
®If hammering into metal,
the correct nails will
need to be purchased
®Run pipework along mortar
joints in brickwork. Hammer
the hose clamps into the
brickwork for a reliable result

Installation (continued)
Flushing the System
1. Perhaps the most important part of the installation
process is to properly flush the system
2. Remove ALL MISTING JETS and connect
the water and run for 4 or 5 minutes
®This will ensure all dirt and pipe swarf is flushed from the system.
If this is not done, MISTING JETS will clog and not work
3. After misting system has been flushed, attach
MISTINGJETS to THREADED TEE CONNECTORS

Drain Water from your System
®When your system is not in use, drain all water from system.
If using an AUTOMATIC DRAINING VALVE, this will
happen automatically
®If this is not shutting off while in use, unscrew the valve inside a
container and check the internal spring and ball bearing–if these
are not moving freely, the valve may need cleaning or replacing
ÁThese small parts fall out easily–using a
container will prevent the parts being lost
Clean Misting Jets
®Periodically clean all MISTING JETS by soaking them in a
solution of vinegar, or similar calcium and iron remover
®If MISTINGJETS are “dripping” or not “misting” properly,
they must be removed and soaked in cleaning solution
®If this fails to clean MISTING JETS, it is highly recommended
to purchase replacement jets and replace as required
Flush System
®Periodically remove all MISTING JETS and flush the system
by running water through it for 4 or 5 minutes
Maintenance

Clean Filter
®Periodically clean the MISTING FILTER by soaking in a
solution of vinegar to remove calcium and iron build up
®This cleans solid particles away and dissolves calcium
and iron deposits that build up as water evaporates
in MISTING FILTER and MISTING JETS

Troubleshooting
Question Answer
Why is my auto drain valve leaking? nThe line not reaching pressure,
ensure there is sufficient supply
pressure to run the system efficiently
I cannot remove the MISTINGTUBE
from the barbed fittings. Can
I reuse these fittings?
nWe recommend cutting the hose
free of the fitting. With a clean
cut on the end of the hose, the
connection will be better in future
nTo remove MISTING TUBE from
the fittings, it is possible by soaking
the connection in hot water, and
wiggling the hose free. This method
however is not recommended
for a good quality connection
Why am I missing a misting jet?
Why do I have an extra 7mm
Barbed/4mm BSP Threaded Tee?
nThis extra fitting is actually for
the 4mm BSP Auto Drain Valve
