OWNER’S MANUAL

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should
always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric
shock and injury to persons, including the following:
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
1. Read all instructions before using heater.
2. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surface.
If provided, use handles when moving this heater. Keep combustible materials such as
furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9m) from
the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
3. Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids
and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
4. Always unplug heater when not in use.
5. Do not operate the heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater
malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return heater to
authorized service facility for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment,
or repair.
6. Do not use outdoors.
7. This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar moist
indoor locations.
8. Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or the
like. Arrange cord away from traffic areas where it will not be tripped over.
9. This heater is for use on 120 volts. The cord has a grounded plug as shown in
Fig. 1. An adapter is available at retail (not included) for connecting three-blade
grounding-type plugs to two-slot receptacles. The green grounding lug extending
from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a property
grounded outlet box. The adapter should not be used if a three-slot grounded
receptacle is available.
10. This heater draws 12.5 amps during operation. To prevent overloading a circuit, do
not plug the heater into a circuit that already has other appliances working.
11. It is normal for the plug to feel warm to the touch; however, a loose fit between the
AC outlet (receptacle) and plug may cause overheating and distortion of the plug.
Contact a qualified electrician to replace loose or worn outlet.

12. To disconnect the heater, first turn controls to the OFF position, then grip the plug and
pull it from the wall outlet. Never pull by the cord.
13. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as
this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
14. To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not
use on soft surface, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
15. A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in the areas
where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.
16. Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by
the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
17. Avoid the use of an extension cord because the extension cord may overheat and
cause a risk of fire. However, if you have to use an extension cord, the cord shall be
No. 14 AWG minimum size and rated not less than 1875 watts.
18. The output of this heater may vary and its temperature may become intense enough to
burn exposed skin. Use of this heater is not recommended for persons with reduced
sensitivity to heat or an inability to react to avoid burns.

REGARDING THE PLUG ON YOUR PRODUCT
• Place the heater on a firm, level surface away from any
combustible material.
• With Power knob in the OFF position, plug the heater
into a grounded outlet.
• To turn the heater on, turn the Power knob clockwise to the
ON position. (Fig. 2).
• If you want to use the Quick Heat™ feature, turn the
Power knob to the Quick Heat™ Setting.

QUICK HEAT™ FEATURE
•Quick Heat™will propel a blast of warm air out of your baseboard. This can help
heat your room more quickly. You will hear a fan operating in this mode. You can also
turn the Quick Heat™setting off and the heater will operate with silent heat.
This heater is equipped with several devices and features for added protection.
•A high temperature safety control prevents overheating (Hi Limit).
•A thermal circuit breaker.
•This heater was created using a high quality safety plastic.
SAFETY FEATURES
TROUBLESHOOTING
If your heater shuts off unexpectedly or fails to operate, one of your heater safety
features may have been activated to prevent overheating.
•Be sure the power cord is plugged into a working electrical outlet. The power
light will illuminate.
•Check for any obstructions. If you find an obstruction, turn the heater
OFF and unplug it.
•Allow the heater to cool completely, then remove the obstruction. Wait at
least 10 minutes, then re-plug in the heater and follow the OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS for your unit.

THE PLACE OF ORIGINAL PURCHASE OR SEE YOUR WARRANTY. DO NOT

We recommend that the heater be cleaned at least once a month and before
off-season storage.
•Turn the heater OFF and unplug it. Allow it to cool.
•Use a dry cloth only to clean the external surfaces of the heater.
DO NOT USE WATER, WAX, POLISH OR ANY CHEMICAL SOLUTION.
•Clean your heater using the above-mentioned steps, then pack the
heater in its original container and store it in a cool dry place.
•This heater does not disassemble.
This product is rated 12.5 amps (1500W) at 120V, 60 Hz.

The enclosed Customer Response card should be filled out and returned
within 7 days of purchase.
A. This 5 year limited warranty applies to repair or replacement of product found to
be defective in material or workmanship. This warranty does not apply to damage

Defects that are the result of normal wear and tear will not be considered

B. At its option, Honeywell will repair or replace this product if it is found to be defective in
material or workmanship. Defective product should be returned to the place of purchase
in accordance with store policy. Thereafter, while within the warranty period defective
product may be returned to Honeywell.
C. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from any unauthorized attempts to
repair or from any use not in accordance with the instruction manual.

L'utilisation d'appareils électriques nécessite des précautions
élémentaires afin de réduire les risques d'incendie, de choc
électrique ou de blessures. Parmi les précautions àobserver,
on compte les suivantes :

1. Lire toutes les instructions avant d'utiliser l'appareil de chauffage.
2. Cet appareil devient chaud quand il fonctionne. Afin de prévenir les brûlures, éviter le
contact entre la peau nue et les surfaces chaudes. Si l’appareil est muni de poignées, les
utiliser pour déplacer l’appareil. S'assurer que les matières combustibles comme les meubles,
les oreillers, la literie, le papier, les vêtements et les rideaux se trouvent àau moins 0,9 m (3
pieds) du devant de l'appareil et qu’elles n’entrent pas en contact avec les côtés ou l’arrière
de l’appareil.
3. La plus grande prudence est recommandée si l’appareil de chauffage est utiliséen présence
d'enfants ou de personnes handicapées –ou par ces personnes -- ou dans le cas où
l'appareil est laissésans surveillance.
4. Toujours débrancher l'appareil de chauffage quand celui-ci ne sert pas.
5. Éviter d'utiliser tout appareil de chauffage dont la fiche ou le cordon d'alimentation est
endommagé. Éviter également d'utiliser l'appareil si celui-ci a montrédes signes de mauvais
fonctionnement, si on l'a laissétomber ou s'il a étéendommagéde quelque façon que ce soit.
Retourner l'appareil àun centre de service autorisépour un examen, un réglage électrique ou
mécanique ou une réparation.
6. Ne pas utiliser l'appareil en plein air.
7. Cet appareil de chauffage n'est pas conçu pour être utilisédans les salles de bains, les salles
de lessive ou dans tout autre endroit humide de la maison. Ne jamais déposer l'appareil là
oùil pourrait tomber dans une baignoire ou dans un autre récipient contenant de l'eau.
8. Éviter de faire passer le cordon d'alimentation sous les tapis ou de le recouvrir d'une carpette,
d'un chemin de couloir, etc. Éloigner le cordon des endroits très passants et de làoùl'on
risquerait de trébucher dessus.
9. L’appareil doit être raccordéàune tension de 120 volts. Le cordon d’alimentation est muni
d’une fiche similaire àcelle qui est montrée ci-dessous (Fig. 1). On peut se procurer dans
les points de vente au détail un adaptateur (non fourni) permettant de brancher les fiches à
trois broches (mises àla terre) dans des prises de courant àdeux fentes. La patte (verte) de
mise àla terre de l’adaptateur doit être raccordée àune mise àla terre permanente, telle
une prise de courant adéquatement mise àla terre. L’adaptateur ne devrait pas être utilisé
dans une prise de courant mise àla terre (àtrois fentes).
10.Durant son fonctionnement, cet appareil de chauffage tire 12,5 ampères. Afin de ne
pas surcharger le circuit, éviter de brancher l'appareil sur un circuit qui alimente déjà
d'autres appareils en marche.

11.Il est normal que la fiche soit un peu chaude au toucher. Cependant, une mauvaise connexion
entre la sortie de courant alternatif et la fiche peut provoquer un échauffement excessif et la
déformation de la fiche. Demander àun électricien qualifiéde remplacer la prise de courant.
12.Pour débrancher l'appareil de chauffage, régler le dispositif de contrôle àOFF, puis enlever la
fiche de la prise de courant. Ne jamais tirer sur le cordon d’alimentation.
13.S'assurer qu'aucun corps étranger ne pénètre dans les ouvertures prévues pour la
ventilation ou l'évacuation, au risque de recevoir une décharge électrique, de déclencher
un incendie ou d'endommager l'appareil de chauffage.
14.Afin de prévenir un incendie, éviter de boucher de quelque façon que ce soit les orifices
d’admission ou d’évacuation d’air. Éviter de placer l’appareil sur une surface molle comme un
lit, ce qui pourrait boucher les orifices.
15.Un appareil de chauffage contient des pièces chaudes et susceptibles de produire des
étincelles. Éviter de faire fonctionner l'appareil dans des endroits oùsont utilisés ou entreposés
de l'essence, de la peinture ou d'autres liquides inflammables.
16.Utiliser uniquement cet appareil de chauffage conformément aux directives contenues dans le
présent guide d'utilisation. Tout autre usage non recommandépar le fabricant pourrait être
cause d'incendie, de choc électrique ou de blessures.
17.Éviter d'utiliser une rallonge, puisque celle-ci risquerait de surchauffer et de déclencher un
incendie. Toutefois, s'il s'avère nécessaire d'utiliser une rallonge, cette dernière doit être d'une
grosseur minimum de 14 AWG et calibrée pour pas moins de 1 875 watts.
18.La quantitéde chaleur émise par cet appareil de chauffage peut varier, et sa température peut
devenir suffisamment intense pour brûler la peau nue. Pour cette raison, l'usage de cet
appareil n'est pas recommandéaux personnes qui ont une sensibilitéréduite àla chaleur ou
dont la capacitéde réaction pour éviter les brûlures est limitée.

MODE QUICK HEATMD
•Quick HeatMD propulse un jet de chaleur. Ceci permet de chauffer plus rapidement une
pièce. Quand ce mode est utilisé, on peut entendre un ventilateur fonctionner.
Lorsqu'on coupe le fonctionnement en mode Quick HeatMD, l'appareil de chauffage
fonctionne silencieusement.
L’appareil est équipéde plusieurs dispositifs de sécurité.
•Un dispositif de sécuritéprévenant l’échauffement excessif de l’appareil
(dispositif de commande àmaximum).
•Un disjoncteur thermique.
•L’appareil est fabriquéde plastique de sécuritéde très haute qualité.
DISPOSITIFS DE SÉCURITÉ
DÉPANNAGE
Si l’appareil arrête subitement de fonctionner ou ne se met pas en marche, il est possible que
ce soit parce que l’un des dispositifs de sécuritéde l’appareil a étéactivéafin de prévenir un
échauffement excessif.
•S'assurer de brancher le cordon d'alimentation dans une prise de courant
fonctionnelle. Le voyant d'alimentation s'allumera.
•Vérifier si un objet quelconque entre en contact avec l’appareil. Si c’est
le cas, arrêter l’appareil (OFF) et le débrancher.
•Laisser l’appareil refroidir complètement et enlever l’objet qui fait contact.
Attendre au moins dix minutes avant de rebrancher l’appareil et de suivre
les instructions de la section FONCTIONNEMENT.
•Placer l'appareil de chauffage sur une surface dégagée,
ferme et bien horizontale, àl'écart de toute matière
combustible.
•Après avoir placéle bouton d’alimentation àla position OFF,
brancher l'appareil dans une prise de courant mise àla terre.
•Pour mettre l'appareil en marche, tourner le bouton
d'alimentation dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre jusqu'à
la position ON. (Fig. 2).
•Pour utiliser le mode Quick HeatMD, régler le bouton
d'alimentation àla position Quick HeatMD.
