HHP PDA
At the beginning of each shift
1. Change the battery at the beginning of your shift and every 4hours.
2. Reset your PDA at the beginning of your shift.
Resetting (sometimes called a warm boot or a soft reset) will prevent freezes & other problems.
Press the CTRL key and the SFT key on the keypad at the same time.
Hold down the buttons until the screen is blank and the lights at the top are flashing.
To turn on the PDA:
1. Tap the Power button. Do NOT power off device.
2. “Waking Up” appears on the screen
for a few seconds.
3. Check to make sure the device
has a full battery. Color bar at the top of the screen
indicates battery status.
4. Tap CareMobile icon.
To scan medications and the ID band, press Scan.
The scanner emits a green bar that must be on the barcode.
To exit correctly:
1. Tap Workflow at the bottom of the window.
2. Tap Exit.
3. Return device to charging cradle. Do NOT power off device.
Note: Do not tap the Exit icon to turn off the PDA. It exits out of the charting view and opens the
IS view. If clicked, a password window opens that does not accept your password.

Checking the Battery Status
The color bars at the top of the screen indicate the battery status.
Other Battery Status Indicators

Realigning the PDA Screen
Green indicates the battery is functioning
at an optimal level.
Peach-yellow indicates the battery
needs changing.
Red indicates the battery must be
changed or at risk of losing data and
function.
Tap the Battery icon in CareMobile to view the
actual battery level.
Do not click Exit.
The icon does not
turn off the PDA.
Your password
will not work.
When a number or letter tapped is not the one that is entered on the screen, the online keyboard
needs to be realigned.
1. Tap Align Screen on the opening window
2. The align screen window opens. Follow the directions.
3. When you return to the Setting window, Tap OK exit the window.
Tap and press firmly into
the screen, not quickly.
You may have to do this
several times.
Changing PDA Volumes
1. Tap Volume Control Icon on the PDA screen.
2. Tap and slide the bar to the right or left.
3. Tap Xto close the window.
Volume Control changes both the tapping and scanning volume.
To access the Volume Control and Calculator in CareMobile when charting:
Volume Control: Press the red key and then the “B” key.
Calculator: Press the red key and then the “A” key.
Light button on the keypad
Press to backlight the keypad. Press again to
turn off the light.
