Your appliance is virtually maintenance-free. No lubrication is
needed. Keep heated surfaces clean and free of dust, dirt, and
hair spray. If cleaning becomes necessary, unplug the appliance
from the power source and clean with Hot Tools Iron Cleaner and a
damp cloth.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a
safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug
does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a
qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
IMPORTANT:
During the first few minutes of initial use, you may notice smoke
and a slight odor. This is normal and is not a cause for concern.
How to Use the Heat-resistant Glove
The Heat-resistant Glove is worn on the hand you are using to wrap the hair
around the heated barrel. The glove provides a barrier between your fingers
and the heated barrel during styling. It is NOT designed to protect fingers from
prolonged exposure to the barrel surface. Only touch the iron handle and the
Cool Tip while styling.
TIP:
Rest your fingertips that are covered by the glove holding the hair on the
Cool Tip at the end of the barrel while waiting for curl to set.

Start-up
Plug the iron into an electrical outlet and slide the On / Off Switch to the “On”
position. Allow the appliance at least 60 seconds’ heating time.
CAUTION:
Curling irons with heat-control dials operate at high temperatures
when used on high settings. When using for the first time, begin with the
LOWEST setting. Please read all instructions carefully before using. For best
results, follow these guidelines:

Helpful Styling Hints
• Hair should be clean and dried completely before using any styling tool.
• Clip hair back into multiple sections.
• Place the Heat-resistant Glove on the hand that will be used to wrap
hair around the barrel.
• Begin with the bottom section of your hair.
• Hold the iron at a vertical angle and wrap a section of hair tightly
around the barrel while holding the hair ends with the gloved hand.
Hold iron in this position for a few seconds.

The barrel is very hot when

Do not leave hair wrapped around barrel for more than 5 seconds.
• Release the hair and pull the iron from the center of the curl. Proceed with
other sections until the desired look is achieved.
• Repeat the process until you have achieved the look you desire.
• When styling is complete, slide the “On / Off” Switch to the “Off” position.
Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before storing.
