IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

4. DO NOT use near, place in or drop into water or other liquid.
5. If an appliance falls into water, “unplug it” immediately. DO NOT
reach into the water.
6. DO NOT use an appliance with a twisted, bent or otherwise damaged
cord.

1. An appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in.
Turn off the switch and unplug the electrical cord when not in use.
2. Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by, on, or

manual. DO NOT use attachments not recommended by the
manufacturer.
4. Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is
not working properly, or if it has been dropped, damaged, or dropped
into water. Return the appliance to a service center for examination
and repair.
NOTE: Helen of Troy L.P. does not have an authorized service center.
However, if this appliance is still under warranty, return it to the Helen
of Troy Consumer Service Department for replacement.
5. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. DO NOT pull, twist or wrap
the cord around the appliance.
6. Never use while sleeping.
7. Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
8. DO NOT use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are
being used or where oxygen is being administered.
9. This curling iron is hot when in use. DO NOT let eyes and bare skin
touch heated surfaces. Use the handle.
10. DO NOT use an extension cord with this appliance.
11. DO NOT place the heated appliance directly on any surface while it is
hot or plugged in. Use the stand provided.
12. Keep the safety stand extended forward while in use.
13. DO NOT operate this appliance with a voltage converter.

USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Maintenance
Your appliance is virtually maintenance-free. No lubrication is
needed. Keep heated surfaces clean and free of dust, dirt, and
hair spray. If cleaning becomes necessary, unplug the appliance
from the power source and clean with Hot Tools Iron Cleaner
and a damp cloth. If the cord becomes twisted, untwist prior
to use.
WARNING: If any malfunction occurs, do not attempt to repair.
This appliance has no user-serviceable parts.
STORAGE
Unplug appliance when not in use.
Allow appliance to cool and store out of reach of children in a safe, dry
location. Never wrap the cord around the appliance since this will cause the
cord to wear prematurely and break. Handle cord carefully for longer life and
avoid jerking, bending sharply, twisting, or straining cord, especially at plug
connections.

within 30 days from purchase because of defect, simply return it to the place of purchase with proof of
purchase for a no-charge replacement.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a
safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does
not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
Start-up
Plug the iron into an electrical outlet and slide the On / Off Switch to the “On”
position. Allow the appliance at least 60 seconds’ heating time.
Caution: Curling irons with heat-control dials operate at high temperatures when
used on high settings. When using for the first time, begin with the LOWEST set-
ting. Please read all instructions carefully before using. For best results, follow
these guidelines:
Heat Selection Hair Type
280 ˚F - 330 ˚F For fine, thin hair
330 ˚F - 380 ˚F For normal, medium-textured hair
380 ˚F - 430 ˚F For wavy, thick, coarse hair
To use as a curling iron:
• Hair should be clean and dried completely before using any styling tool.
• Comb out a 2-inch section of hair and place hair ends between the Barrel and
Clamp. The Clamp should be on top of the hair.
• Using one hand to hold the Rotating Cool Tip and the other hand to hold the
Curling Iron handle for faster curl wrapping, roll under for a curl and over for a
flip.
• Leave the iron in fine hair for 5 to 8 seconds, and 10 to 15 seconds for thick
hair.
• Press Thumb Grip to release hair.
• Repeat the process until you have achieved the look you desire.
• Allow curls to cool before combing or brushing.
• When styling is complete, slide the “On / Off” Switch to the “Off”
position. Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before storing.
To use as a wand
• Hair should be clean and dried completely before using any styling tool.
• Clip hair back into multiple sections.
• Begin with the bottom section of your hair.
• With clamp closed, hold the iron at a vertical angle and wrap a section of hair
tightly around the barrel while holding the hair ends. Hold iron in this position
for a few seconds.
CAUTION: DO NOT touch the styling Barrel. The Barrel is very hot when the
appliance is in use. Only touch the handle and the Rotating Cool Tip while
styling.
NOTE: This iron reaches professional temperatures. Do not leave hair wrapped
around Barrel for more than 5 seconds.
• Release the hair and pull the iron from the center of the curl. Proceed with other
sections until the desired look is achieved.
• When styling is complete, slide the “On / Off” Switch to the “Off” position.
Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before storing.
