center. However, if this appliance is still under warranty, return it to the
Helen of Troy Consumer Service Department for replacement.
5. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. DO NOT pull, twist or wrap the
cord around the appliance.
6. Never use while sleeping.
7. Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
8. DO NOT use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are
being used or where oxygen is being administered.
9. This curling iron is hot when in use. DO NOT let eyes and bare skin touch
heated surfaces. Use the handle.
10. DO NOT use an extension cord with this appliance.
11. DO NOT place the heated appliance directly on any surface while it is hot
or plugged in. Use the stand provided.
12. Keep the safety stand extended forward while in use.
13. DO NOT operate this appliance with a voltage converter.

USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Maintenance
Your appliance is virtually maintenance-free. No lubrication is
needed. Keep heated surfaces clean and free of dust, dirt, and
hair spray. If cleaning becomes necessary, unplug the
appliance from the power source and clean using Hot Tools
Styling Iron Cleaner and a damp cloth. If the cord becomes
twisted, untwist prior to use.
WARNING: If any malfunction occurs, do not attempt to
repair. This appliance has no user-serviceable parts.
STORAGE
Unplug appliance when not in use.
Allow appliance to cool and store out of reach of children in a safe, dry
location. Never wrap the cord around the appliance since this will cause the
cord to wear prematurely and break. Handle cord carefully for longer life and
avoid jerking, bending sharply, twisting, or straining cord, especially at plug
connections.

MODE D’ENTRETIEN
Entretien
Votre appareil ne requiert pour ainsi dire pas d’entretien.
Aucune lubrification n’est nécessaire. Maintenez les surfaces
chauffées exemptes de poussière, de saleté et de fixatif. Si un
nettoyage devient nécessaire, débranchez l’appareil de la prise
de courant et essuyez-le à l’aide d’un chiffon doux et du
nettoyant à fer de Hot Tools. Si le cordon électrique
s’entortille, redressez-le avant l’utilisation.
MISE EN GARDE : Si l’appareil venait à mal fonctionner,
n’essayez pas de le réparer. Cet appareil ne comporte
aucune pièce réparable par l’utilisateur.
RANGEMENT
Débranchez l’appareil après chaque utilisation.
Laissez l’appareil se refroidir et rangez-le dans un endroit sûr et sec, hors de
la portée des enfants. N’enroulez jamais le cordon autour de l’appareil, car
cela entraînerait son usure prématurée et sa rupture. Manipulez le cordon
avec précaution pour en prolonger la durée et évitez de le plier brusquement,
de tirer dessus ou de le tordre, en particulier près de la fiche.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance may have a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one
way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still
does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this
safety feature.
IMPORTANT: During the first few minutes of initial use, you may notice
smoke and a slight odor. This is normal and is not a cause for concern.
Helpful Styling Hints
• Hair should be clean and completely dried before using any
styling iron.
• Plug the curling iron into an electrical outlet and slide the On / Off
Switch to the “On” position. On light will glow. Turn the Heat Control
Selector to the heating level best suited for your hair type.
Note: The variable heat selector dial provides a wide range of heats
from which to choose. This allows you to tailor the barrel temperature
to the texture and type of hair you are styling. Use the chart below to
help you select the proper temperature.

280˚F (140˚C) For fragile hair
330˚F (165˚C) For normal hair
380˚F (195˚C) For wavy, medium-textured hair
430˚F (221˚C) For thick, coarse hair
• Allow the appliance 60 seconds to heat.
• Take a 2-inch section of hair and place between Barrel and Clamp.
Roll under for a curl and over for a flip.
• Leave in fine, thin hair for 5 to 8 seconds or 10 to 15 seconds for thick
or coarse hair. Slowly unroll.
• Allow the hair to cool before combing or brushing.
• When styling is complete, slide the On / Off Switch to the “off”
position. Allow the appliance to cool before storing.
MODE D’EMPLOI
Cet appareil peut être équipé d’une fiche polarisée (une lame est plus
large que l’autre). Par mesure de sécurité, cette fiche n’entrera que dans
un seul sens dans une prise polarisée. Si la fiche ne s’adapte pas à la

IMPORTANT : La première fois que vous vous servirez de l’appareil, il se

• Branchez le fer à friser dans une prise de courant et faites coulisser le
bouton marche-arrêt à la position « on ». Le témoin lumineux brillera.
Tournez le cadran du sélecteur de chaleur au niveau convenant le
mieux au type de cheveux.
Remarque : Le cadran de sélection de chaleur variable offre un grand
choix de niveaux de chaleur. Il vous permet de personnaliser la
température du tube suivant la texture et le type des cheveux que
vous coiffez. Le tableau ci-dessous vous aide à sélectionner la
température appropriée.

• Laissez l’appareil se réchauffer durant 60 secondes.
• Prenez une mèche de 5 cm et placez-la entre le tube et la pince.
Roulez vers l’intérieur pour obtenir une boucle traditionnelle et, vers
l’extérieur, pour créer un flip.
• Maintenez le fer dans les cheveux fins et minces de 5 à 8 secondes
ou de 10 à 15 secondes dans les cheveux gros ou épais. Déroulez
lentement.
• Laissez les cheveux refroidir avant de les peigner ou de les brosser.
• Une fois la mise en forme des cheveux terminée, faites coulisser le
bouton marche-arrêt à la position « off ». Laissez refroidir l’appareil
avant de le ranger.

workmanship for seven years from the date of purchase.
