2 Getting Started
Installing SIM Card and the Battery
When inserting a SIM card, ensure that the golden contact area on
the SIM card is facing downward and that the beveled edge of the
SIM card is properly aligned with that of the SIM card slot.
Removing the Battery and SIM Card
Before removing the battery and SIM card, ensure that your phone is
powered off.
Installing a microSD Card
Before installing or removing a microSD card, power the
phone off. When powered back on, the phone indicates
whether the microSD card has been correctly installed.

You can expand your phone's memory capacity by installing a
microSD card. When installing a microSD card, ensure that the gold
contact area faces down.
Charging the Battery
To charge the battery:
1. Connect the charger to the phone's charger jack.
2. Connect the charger to a power outlet.
3. Allow the battery to fully charge.
When the battery is charging, the charging icon blinks. When the
charging icon stops blinking, the battery is fully charged.
4. Disconnect the charger from the power outlet and then from the
phone.

Working with the Main Menu
1. In standby mode, press (Menu) to access the main
menu.
2. Press to scroll to the desired submenu, and press
to access the submenu.
3. Press or to scroll to an option, and press
(OK) or to select the option.
4. Press (Back) to return to the previous screen or
to return to the standby mode.
Automatically Switching Between Profiles
You can set your phone to activate different profiles at different
times. The phone can automatically switch between profiles up to a
maximum of three times a day.
To automatically switch between profiles:
1. Select Menu > User profiles > Profile Switch Timing.
2. Scroll to a time, and press (Edit) to select the profile
to be activated at the specified time.
3. Press (Done) to save the settings.

Phone Lock
The phone lock protects your phone from unauthorized use. The
preset password to unlock your phone is 1234. By default, the
phone lock is disabled. Once the phone lock is enabled, you are
required to enter the password each time you power on the phone.
To enable the phone lock:
1. Select Menu > Settings > Security settings >Phone security >
Phone lock.
2. Enter the password, and press (OK).
To change the password:
1. Select Menu > Settings > Security settings >Phone security >
Change password.
2. Enter the old password and press (OK).
3. Enter a new password and press (OK).
The password must be a numeric string between four and eight
digits.
4. Enter the new password again to confirm it.
If you forget the password, contact your service provider.
Mass Storage
When you have connected your phone to a computer using the USB
cable, Mass storage is displayed on the phone screen.
Select Mass storage to manage the files stored in the phone memory
or on the microSD card using the computer's file manager
application.
The phone memory and its microSD card are displayed as removable
disks on the computer. You can perform the following operations:
1. Double-click a disk to open it.
2. Copy, paste or delete files on a disk.

3. Disconnect the phone from the PC.
Ensure that you connect and disconnect the USB cable
correctly.
Do not run the formatting command on the computer to
format the phone memory; doing so may permanently
damage the phone memory.
You can transfer data and charge the battery by
connecting the phone to the computer with the USB
cable.
PIN and PUK
The personal identification number (PIN) protects your SIM card from
unauthorized use.
If you incorrectly enter the PIN a specified number of times, the PIN
is blocked and the phone prompts you to enter the PIN unblocking
key (PUK).
If you incorrectly enter the PUK a specified number of times, the SIM
card will become permanently invalid, and you must contact your
service provider for a new SIM card.
Both the PIN and the PUK are provided with the SIM card. For details,
contact your service provider.
The lock for each SIM card must be configured separately.
To enable the PIN lock:
1. Select Menu > Settings > Security settings > SIM security >PIN
lock.
2. Enter the PIN and press (OK).

Locking and Unlocking the Keypad
To lock the keypad, press and hold in standby mode for 3s.
To unlock the keypad, press (Unlock) and then
(OK).
If the Auto keypad lock function is enabled, the phone will
automatically lock the keypad after being idle in standby mode for a
preset period.
To enable the Auto keypad lock function, select Menu > Settings >
Security settings >Auto keypad lock, scroll to a period, and press
(OK) to select the period.
When the keypad is locked, you can press to
answer a call or make an emergency call.
Entertainment
Camera: take pictures.
Image viewer: view pictures stored on the phone or the microSD
card.
Audio player: play audio clips stored on the phone or the microSD
card.
Sound recorder: record audio clips.
FM radio: listen to the radio.
Games: play games.

3 Voice Services
Making a Call
1. In standby mode, enter the phone number.
To make an international call, press to enter the plus sign (+),
and then enter the country or region code, area code, and phone
number.
To call an extension, enter the switchboard number, press to
enter P, press and then to enter W, and enter the
extension number.
2. Press to dial the number.
3. Press to end the call.
You can also make calls from call logs, contacts, or
messages.
During a call, you can press or to adjust the
in-call volume.
Answering a Call
When you receive an incoming call:
Press to answer the call.
Press (Options) and select Answer to answer the call.
Press to reject the call.

Press (Silent) to mute the ringtone, and press
(Reject) to reject the call.
Press (Silent) to mute the ringtone, press
(Options), and then select Answer to answer the call.
If the Any key answer function is enabled, you can press any key
except and to answer a call.
4 Text Input
Changing the Text Input Mode
The current text input mode indicator is displayed in the upper left
corner of the screen. You can press to switch between text
input modes.

Press (Clear) or once to delete the last
entered character. You can also press and hold
(Clear) to delete all the characters entered.
In any text input mode, press to enter a space.
In any text input mode, press to start a new paragraph.
When the input language is English, press to switch
between upper and lower case.
Multi-Tap Input Mode
In multi-tap input mode, press the key labeled with the desired letter.
Predictive Input Mode
To enter a word in predictive input mode:
1. Press each key once according to the spelling sequence of the
desired word.
The phone displays candidate words.
2. Press or to scroll left or right, and press or
to turn pages.
3. Press to enter the word.
Number Input Mode
In number mode, press the key labeled with the desired digit.
Entering Symbols
To enter a symbol with the QWERTY keypad in any input mode:

Using to Enter a Symbol
To enter only one symbol, press once and then the key
labeled with the desired symbol.
To enter multiple symbols, press twice and then the keys
labeled with the desired symbols.
Using to Enter a Symbol
1. Press to display the symbol list.
2. Press or to scroll left or right, and press or
to scroll up or down.
3. Press to select the desired symbol.
5 Messaging
Writing and Sending a Text Message
1. In standby mode, select Menu > Messages > Write message >
Text message, or press and select Write message >Text
Message.
2. Write the message.
3. Press (Options), and select Send to.
4. Select Enter number, and enter the recipient's phone number; or
select Add from Phonebook and add a recipient from the
phonebook.
To add multiple recipients, repeat this step.

5. Once the recipient or recipients have been added, and press
to send the message or press (Options) for the
following options:
Send: send the message to the recipient or recipients.
Save to Drafts: save the message to Drafts and exit the message
editing screen.
Writing and Sending a Multimedia Message
1. In standby mode, select Menu > Messages > Write message >
Multimedia message, or press and select Write message >
Multimedia message.
2. Write the message.
3. Press (Options) for the following options:
Add picture: add a picture to the message.
Add sound: add an audio clip to the message.
Add subject: add a subject to the message.
4. On the message editing screen, press , or press
(Options) and select Send to.
5. Select Enter recipient to enter the recipients' phone numbers, or
select Add from Phonebook to add the desired recipients from
the phonebook.
6. Once the recipient has been added, press to immediately
send the message, or press (Options) for the
following options:
Send: send the message.
Change to Cc: copy the message to the recipient.

Change to Bcc: blind copy the message to the recipient.
Save to Drafts: save the message to Drafts.
You can contact your service provider to determine the
availability of the Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) and
the method for subscribing to the service.
Your phone supports a multimedia message up to 300 KB.
Open multimedia messages with caution. Objects in
multimedia messages may contain viruses and malicious
software that can damage your phone.
6 Phonebook
Creating a Contact
1. Select Menu > Contacts > Add new contact.
2. Select To SIM or To Phone for saving the contact.
3. Enter the contact information, press , and select Save.
4. When prompted, press (Yes).
Searching for a Contact
1. Select Menu > Contacts.
2. Enter the first letter of the contact name in the search box.
3. Press or to scroll to the desired contact.
Setting the Preferred Storage
You can set the storage where you want to save new contacts.
1. Select Menu > Contacts.

2. Press (Options), and select Phonebook settings >
Preferred storage.
3. Scroll to SIM, Phone, or Both as desired.
4. Press (OK).
Copying Contacts
You can copy contacts to the phone or SIM card.
Copying One Contact
1. Select Menu > Contacts.
2. Press or to scroll to the desired contact.
3. Press (Options), and select Copy.
4. Select To Phone, or To SIM to copy the contact to the desired
location.
Copying All Contacts
1. Select Menu > Contacts.
2. Press (Options), and select Phonebook settings >
Copy contacts.
3. Press or to scroll to the desired option, such as To
Phone or To SIM.
4. Press (OK)to copy all contacts to the desired
location.
