1 Get to Know Your Phone
The preceding figure is provided for your reference only. The appearance
of the actual product that you have purchased may differ slightly from that
shown.
Installing the UIM Card and the Battery
Install your User Identity Module (UIM) card before using your
phone. Remove the UIM card and the battery only after powering
off the phone.

Charging the Battery
Although the lithium battery of the mobile phone can be used
immediately after being unpacked from the gift box, a new
battery performs best after being fully charged and discharged for
3 times.
The following figure shows how to charge your battery.
1. Connect the charger to the phone's charger jack.
2. Plug the charger into a power outlet.
3. Wait until the battery is fully charged.
While the battery is charging, the charging icon blinks. When
the charging icon stops blinking, the battery is fully charged.
4. Unplug the charger from the power outlet and from the phone.

Keys and Functions
In this guide, your phone's navigation keys are indicated by the following
icons: , , and .
Press…
To…
Make a call.
Answer a call.
View the call log in standby mode.
Power the phone on or off (press and hold the
key for about 3 seconds).
End or reject a call.
Turn the phone backlight on or off in standby
mode.
Return to standby mode.
Left soft
key
Select the option displayed directly above the key, in
the lower left corner of the screen.
Right soft
key
Select the option displayed directly above the key, in
the lower right corner of the screen.

2 Getting Started
Powering On/Off the Phone
Press and hold for about 3 seconds, powering on or off
the phone.
If Auto Power On/Off function is enabled, the phone will power
on/off automatically in preset time.
You can select Menu > Settings > Phone Settings > Auto
Power On/Off to set the power on/off time.
Locking the Keypad
In standby mode, press and hold for about 3 seconds to
lock the keypad. When the keypad is locked, you can press
to answer a call or make an emergency call.
To unlock the keypad, press (Unlock) then in quick
succession.
If the Auto Keyguard function is enabled, the phone will lock the
keypad automatically after being idle in standby mode for a pre-
defined period. You can select Menu > Settings > Phone
Settings > Auto Keyguard to set the function.
Phone Lock
Phone Lock protects your phone from unauthorized use and
factory settings restoration.
By default, the Phone Lock is disabled. You can select Menu >
Settings > Security Settings > Phone Lock to enable or disable
Phone Lock.

The preset phone code is 0000. You can select Menu >
Settings > Security Settings > Change Phone Code to change
the phone code to any numeric string of four to eight digits. Do
remember your phone code. If you forget it, contact the service
center.
PIN and PUK
The personal identification number (PIN) protects your SIM/USIM
card from unauthorized use. The PIN unblocking key (PUK) unlocks
a blocked PIN. Both the PIN and the PUK are provided with the
SIM/USIM card. For details, contact your service provider.
If you enter the incorrect PIN a specified number of times, the
phone prompts you to enter the PUK.
If you enter the incorrect PUK a specified number of times, the
SIM/USIM card will become permanently invalid. If this occurs,
contact your service provider for a new SIM/USIM card.
Shortcuts
You can select Menu > Settings > Phone Settings > Shortcuts
to set the corresponding functions to .
Press , , and in standby mode to access the
preset function menus.
Power Saving Mode
Select Menu > Settings > Phone Settings > Power Saving
Mode to enable or disable this function.
If the power saving mode is enabled, the keypad backlight will be
off from 9:00 to 17:00.

3 Voice Services
Making a Call
1. In standby mode, enter a phone number.
To make an international call, press twice to enter the
plus sign (+). Then enter the country or region code, area
code, and phone number.
To call an extension number, enter the phone number, press
three times to enter Por four times to enter T, and
enter the extension number.
2. Press to dial the number.
3. Press to end the call.
You can also make a call from Contacts , Call Log, or Messages.
Answering a call
When there is an incoming call, press to answer the call or
to reject it.
If you select Menu > Settings > Call Settings > Answer Mode >
By Any Key, you can press any key except and to
answer the call.

4 Text Input
Text Input Mode
The current text input mode indicator is displayed in the upper left
corner of the screen. Press to switch between text input
modes.

Number input modes
In editing mode, press (Clear) once to delete the last character
entered, or press and hold for about 3 seconds to delete all the
characters.
Entering English
Press to enter a space, press and hold for about 3 secondes to enter
"0". Press to switch between upper case mode, lower case mode,
and capitalization of the first letter mode.

Multi-Tap Input Mode
In multi-tap input mode, press the key labeled with the desired
letter once to enter the first letter on the key, twice to enter the
second letter, and so on.
If the letter that you want to enter is on the same key as the
previous letter, enter the desired letter after the cursor appears
again or after you press to move the cursor to the right of
the previous letter.
Predictive Input Mode
1. Press each key once according to the spelling sequence of the
desired word. The phone displays candidate words.
2. Press or to scroll to the desired word.
3. Press to enter the desired word or press key to enter
the desired word followed by a space.
Entering a Number
In number input modes, simply press the number key labeled
with the desired number.
In multi-tap input mode, press and hold the number key
labeled with the desired number, or repeatedly press it until the
number appears on the screen.
In predictive input mode, press the number key labeled with
the desired number, and press or until the number
appears on the screen.
Entering a Symbol
In any text input mode, press to display the symbol list.

Press to scroll to the desired symbol, and press to
enter it.
In any input mode except the number input mode, press in
quick succession to display the commonly used symbol list.
5 Creating and Sending a Messages
1. Select Menu > Messages > Create Message.
2. Write the message.
3. press or select Options > Send.
4. Add recipients by entering the phone numbers, or select the
recipients from Contacts.

Creating a Contact
1. Select Menu > Contacts > Add New.
2. Enter the contact information.
3. Press (Save) or to save the contact.
Searching for a Contact
1. Select Menu > Contacts > Search.
2. Enter the contact name, or the first several letters of a contact
name.
3. Press or to scroll to the contact.

7 FM Radio
The headset cable functions as an antenna as well. To ensure good
reception of radio programs, do not disconnect the headset from the
phone or severely bend the headset cable.
Swithching on the Radio
Select Menu > Radio to display the radio screen. The phone plays
the program on the channel that you listened to last time.
When you listen to the radio for the first time, because no channel
is saved on the list, you need to press (Options) and
search for channels as follows:
Automatic Tuning: The phone performs automatic tuning,
and then saves the channels found to the channel list.
Manual Tuning: Press and to search channels and
save to the channel list.
Fine Tuning: Adjust the frequency with a precision of 0.1MHz.
Set Frequency: Enter a channel frequency and press to
listen to the program.
Listening to the Radio
When listening to a radio program, you can perform the following
operations:
Press to enable or disable the Speaker.
Press or to adjust the volume.
Press or to switch between channels.
