This document describes the site requirements for installing the FusionModule1000A
prefabricated all-in-one data center (FusionModule1000 for short) as well as the methods and
skills required for installing containers, pipes, and cables, providing installation guidance for
onsite installation personnel.

1 Installation Guide Usage
This chapter describes the notes for using the FusionModule1000 installation guide.
This manual focuses on the installation methods and precautions. For details about the
number of units to be installed and the installation positions, see the quick installation
guide for the corresponding solution.
Operations marked as "optional" in the chapters, sections, or procedures can be
performed depending on the actual configuration and requirements of the
FusionModule1000.
For information such as installation drawings and number of units which are not
provided in this manual but required in certain operations, see the quick installation
guide for the corresponding solution.
Some parameters mentioned in this document should be provided and configured by
onsite technical support engineers based on the actual application of the
FusionModule1000.
The figures provided in this document illustrate only installation and connection methods.
The actual product appearance prevails.
Before using this manual, understand the actual configurations of the products and data
center solution in use.
Before performing an operation, ensure that the prerequisites are met. Otherwise, the
expected result may not be achieved. More seriously, equipment damage and personal
injury may occur.
Before using this document, read through and keep in mind the precautions in each
chapter or section and the cautions and notes for operations.
Put on necessary protective equipment such as the safety helmet and gloves before
entering the site.
Before using this document, make available the documents delivered with each
component.
Precautions provided in this document are only supplementary to the local laws and
regulations governing the FusionModule1000.
Unless otherwise specified, dimensions of devices in this document are by default height
x width x depth.

2 Site Requirements
2.1 Site Selection Requirements
The power supply is stable and reliable.
The communication and traffic or convenient.
The site is far away from dust, smoke, harmful gas, and corrosive, flammable, or
explosive objects.
Not on a low-lying land, and above the highest water level of that area.
The site is far away from sources of strong variation, loud noises, and strong
electromagnetic interference.
The ground is solid without spongy or soft soil, and is not prone to water aggregation or
subsidence.
The site is in an open area without obstacles 10 m around the containers.
At least 50 m away from residential areas to prevent noise pollution.
At least 500 m away from a seashore.
For a specific project, select the product specifications based on the application environment. For
example, in a class B environment 3700 m away from the seashore, the air conditioner outdoor unit can
be a common outdoor unit. In a class C environment 500–3700 m away from the seashore, the air
conditioner outdoor unit must be a class C outdoor unit.
2.2 Field Requirements
The concrete platforms must provide an average bearing capacity greater than 50,000
kg/m2and be able to bear concentrated loads.
The average base strength must exceed 300 kg/cm2.
For the length and width requirements of concrete platforms, see the quick installation
guide for the corresponding solution.
The concrete platforms must be at least 100 mm higher than the ground, and the
levelness deviation must be less than 10 mm.
The height depends on the local drainage capability and climate.

2.3 External Environment Requirements
Temperature: –15°C to +52°C.
Relative humidity: 5%–95% RH.
Solar radiation: ≤ 1120 W/m2.
Altitude: < 3000 m; derated when the altitude exceeds 1000 m.
For the derating details, contact Huawei technical support.
2.4 Power Distribution Requirements
Huawei recommends that YJV22 (4 x 50 mm2+ 1 x 25 mm2) armored cables are used as
input power cables.
Applies to two mutual-backup inputs, namely, two mains supplies, or one mains supply
and one diesel generator (DG) supply.
A class B surge protective device (SPD) with a maximum discharge current (Imax) of 60
kA (8/20 µs) is required for the upstream input PDC for the FusionModule1000.
The main input power cables can be buried underground or routed on an external cable
tray.
The power input current must be 160 A. Table 2-1 describes the voltage and frequency
requirements. Huawei provides products based on the voltage system and frequency
required by customers.

2.5 Grounding Requirements
The external ground resistance of the container must not exceed 10 ohms, or the
equivalent radius of the ground grid is no less than 5 m.
The upper end of the pre-installed ground grid must be at least 0.7 m underground. In
cold areas, the ground electrodes must be buried under the frozen layer.
At least two ground points on each container must be properly grounded.
Do not connect devices such as fuses and switches to ground cables.
Ground cables should be short, straight, and not coiled.

The ground resistance must be measured periodically to ensure effective grounding.
Ground lugs or ground cables can be used to ground the containers. The requirements are
as follows:
−Ground lug: use ground lugs made of hot-dip zinc-coated flat steel with a
cross-sectional area of 40 mm x 4 mm (1.57 inches x 0.16 inch), and leave 500 mm
of each ground lug out of the concrete pad.
−Ground cable: Use 95 mm2ground cables and route them through a plastic-coated
metal hose.
2.6 Water Refill and Drainage Requirements
2.6.1 Water Refill Requirements
The water refill ports must supply water continuously at a pressure greater than 0.1 MPa when
the FusionModule1000 is operating.

If σ20 is less than 300 μS/cm, it takes a longer time for the humidifier to generate vapor for
the first time. If σ20 is greater than 1250 μS/cm, the humidifier service life is affected.
Anti-freezing measures must be applied for pipes in low-temperature areas. For details, see 2.7 Pipe
Anti-freezing.
2.6.2 Drainage Requirements
The FusionModule1000 must be located in an area with proper drainage. To prevent
ponding which may affect equipment operation, deploy drainage channels before
constructing a concrete foundation.
Dispose of water drained out of containers in accordance with local laws and regulations.

Anti-freezing measures must be applied for pipes in low-temperature areas. For details,
see 2.7 Pipe Anti-freezing.
2.7 Pipe Anti-freezing
Condensate drainpipes of air conditioners and water refill pipes of humidifiers may freeze and
thereby be blocked or crack in low-temperature areas. Anti-freezing measures must be taken
for the pipes.
Wrap the pipes with an electric trace heater, starting from the water refill and drain ports on a
container to the frozen soil layer. Bury the remaining pipes underground (the temperature at a
specific depth underground is always above 0°C).

Prepare traps for container drainpipes.
The ends of the drainpipes must be connected to the utility drainpipes.
After an electric trace heater is deployed, wrap 10 mm thick thermal insulation foam around the
pipes.
The thermal switch and electric trace heater should be powered separately. As recommended, the
thermal switch should be an outdoor model and its working temperature range and protection level
should meet local climate requirements (low temperature resistant and rainproof). If the
recommended thermal switch is unavailable, place a thermal switch in the position where the
temperature range and protection level are met, for example, inside an outdoor control box with
electric heating.
Typically, a thermal switch consists of a temperature controller and temperature sensor. The
temperature sensor is deployed in a position such as the pipe surface where antifreeze measures are
required. Set the temperature to 5°C as recommended. When the temperature decreases to 5°C or
lower, the temperature sensor will send a signal to the temperature controller, which will release a
command to start the electric trace heater. The electric trace heater will be closed until the
temperature of the pipe surface rises to 5°C or higher.
