1 O&M Preparations
1.1 O&M Personnel Skill Requirements
Professional Quality and Skills
Maintenance personnel must be trained before performing maintenance tasks to master
necessary maintenance knowledge, basic operation skills, and emergency handling skills.
They should strictly follow the operation regulations and industry safety regulations to ensure
personal safety and equipment security.
Have the product knowledge.
Be clear of related device functions and basic protocols.
Understand device positions in the network as well the services and ports provided.
Have the basic computer network knowledge, such as the Ethernet, TCP/IP, and
Client/Server.
Skilful in routine device operations and basic computer operations, especially routine
maintenance such as device alarm management and performance management.
Device Operations
To improve the troubleshooting efficiency and avoid misoperations, maintenance personnel
must obtain the work permit and understand the related operation procedure. Critical
troubleshooting tasks should be performed by qualified personnel trained by Huawei.
Maintenance personnel should also be clear of the following during maintenance:
Operations that may lead to the failure of some or all the services
Operations that may damage devices
Operations that may lead to customer complaints
Emergency and backup measures

2.1 Routine Maintenance for the Power Supply and
Distribution System
To perform routine maintenance for a single component in the power supply and distribution
system, see the documents delivered with the component. Table 2-1 lists the reference
documents.
