1 Safety Information
Statement
Before installing, operating, and maintaining the equipment, read this document
and observe all the safety instructions on the equipment and in this document.
The "NOTICE", "CAUTION", "WARNING", and "DANGER" statements in this
document do not cover all the safety instructions. They are only supplements to
the safety instructions. The Company will not be liable for any consequence
caused by the violation of general safety requirements or design, production, and
usage safety standards.
Ensure that the equipment is used in environments that meet its design
specications. Otherwise, the equipment may become faulty, and the resulting
equipment malfunction, component damage, personal injuries, or property
damage will not be covered under the warranty.
Follow local laws and regulations when installing, operating, or maintaining the
equipment. The safety instructions in this document are only supplements to local
laws and regulations.
The Company will not be liable for any consequences of the following
circumstances:
● Operation beyond the conditions specied in this document
● Installation or use in environments which are not specied in relevant
international or national standards
● Unauthorized modications to the product or software code or removal of the
product
● Failure to follow the operation instructions and safety precautions on the
product and in this document
● Equipment damage due to force majeure, such as earthquakes, re, and
storms
● Damage caused during transportation by the customer

1.1 Personal Safety
D ANGER
Do not work with power on during installation. Do not install or remove a power
cable with power on. Transient contact between the core of the power cable and
the conductor will generate electric arcs or sparks, which may cause a re or
personal injury.
D ANGER
Before installing, operating, or maintaining the equipment, remove conductive
objects such as watches, bracelets, bangles, rings, and necklaces to prevent electric
shocks.
D ANGER
When installing, operating, or maintaining the equipment, use dedicated insulated
tools to prevent electric shocks and short circuits.
D ANGER
Contact with high-voltage components will cause electric shocks, which could
result in serious injury or death.
D ANGER
Exercise caution when operating electrical components. Medium voltage can cause
injury or death. Do not operate the interlock switch without permission.
WARNING
When installing, operating, or maintaining the equipment, wear personal
protective equipment (PPE) such as insulated gloves, safety clothing, goggles,
safety helmet, and safety shoes.
General Requirements
● Do not stop protective devices. Pay attention to the warnings, cautions, and
precautionary measures on the equipment.

● If there is a likelihood of personal injury or equipment damage during
operations, immediately stop, report the case to the supervisor, and take
feasible protective measures.
● Do not power on the equipment before it is installed or conrmed by
professionals.
● Before handling a conductor surface or terminal, measure the contact point
voltage and ensure that there is no risk of electric shock.
● Do not touch a running fan with your ngers, components, screws, tools, or
boards before the fan is powered o or stops running.
● In the case of a re, immediately leave the building or the equipment area
and activate the re alarm or call emergency services. Do not re-enter the
building or aected area until it has been deemed safe by qualied
professionals.
Personnel Requirements
● Only professionals and trained personnel are allowed to operate the
equipment.
– Professionals: personnel who are familiar with the working principles and
structure of the equipment, trained or experienced in equipment
operations and are clear of the sources and degree of various potential
hazards in equipment installation, operation, maintenance
– Trained personnel: personnel who are trained in technology and safety,
have required experience, are aware of possible hazards on themselves in
certain operations, and are able to take protective measures to minimize
the hazards on themselves and other people
● Personnel who plan to install or maintain the equipment must receive
thorough training, understand all necessary safety precautions, and be able to
correctly perform all operations.
● Only qualied professionals or trained personnel are allowed to install,
operate, and maintain the equipment.
● Only qualied professionals are allowed to remove safety facilities and inspect
the equipment.
● Personnel who will perform special tasks such as electrical operations,
working at heights, and operations of special equipment should possess the
required local national qualications.
● Only authorized professionals are allowed to replace the equipment or
components (including software).
● Keep irrelevant people away from the equipment. Only operators are allowed
to access the equipment.
● Comply with local standards and regulations.
● Observe the electrical safety regulations, such as the operation and work
ticket mechanisms.

1.2 Equipment Safety
D ANGER
Strictly follow the requirements in this document to avoid risks caused by system
exceptions.
D ANGER
Do not route, prepare, or install signal cables at the rear or sides of a cabinet with
power on.
WARNING
Prevent foreign matter from entering the equipment. Otherwise, equipment
damage, derating, power failure, or personal injury may occur.
WARNING
Do not directly connect a genset to the electrical system of the building.
Otherwise, a dangerous medium voltage may ow into the power grid from the
genset, which may cause electric shocks or property damage. They can be
connected only using an approved disconnector or similar equipment.
WARNING
Do not enter the enclosed electrical operation area without authorization.
Touching live components may cause electric shocks, which can result in serious
injury or death.
General Requirements
● Observe the medium-voltage safety regulations, such as the operation and
work ticket mechanisms.
● Ensure that instruments are connected and used correctly to avoid electric
arcs and other dangerous situations.
Transformer Cabinet
● Before opening the transformer cabinet door, ensure that the low-voltage
circuit breaker on the transformer output side is turned o, the upstream
medium-voltage switch for the transformer is also turned o, and the

grounding switch is turned on. Ensure that no fatal voltage exists before
entering the transformer cabinet.
● Ensure that you are wearing dedicated working clothes when inspecting the
transformer cabinet. Check the tools in advance and record them. After the
work is complete, collect all of the tools to prevent them from being left
inside the transformer.
● After the transformer cabinet is installed, strictly check the reliability of the
grounding system to ensure that the grounding is safe and reliable.
● Keep the key to the transformer cabinet door in a safe area.
● Install temporary fences or warning ropes and hang "No Entry" signs around
the transformer cabinet construction area to keep unauthorized personnel
away from the area.
● Assign dedicated personnel for supervision. Do not touch devices that may be
energized, such as transformers.
● Place warning signs near the upstream and downstream switches of
transformers to prevent accidental connection.
1.2.1 UPS Safety
D ANGER
During installation, operation, and maintenance, prevent foreign matter from
entering the UPS. Otherwise, equipment damage, load power derating, power
failure, or personal injury may occur.
NO TICE
The category 3 (C3) UPS is intended for commercial and industrial application in
the second class environment. Installation restrictions or additional measures may
be needed to prevent disturbances.
General Requirements
● The UPS is used for commercial and industrial purposes only. It cannot be
used as a power supply for life support devices.
● For power supply systems that are critical to signicant economic interests or
public order, such as the national computing center, military command
system, emergency command center, railway signal system and control center,
civil aviation and air trac control center, airport command center, nancial
clearing center, and transaction center, the Tier 4 or 3 power architecture
specied in TIA-942 must be used. That is, two power supplies must be used
to supply power to loads.
● If the root mean square (RMS) of the mains voltage exceeds 320 V AC, the
UPS may be damaged.
● A UPS can be used to serve resistive-capacitive loads, resistive loads, and
micro-inductive loads. It is recommended that a UPS not be used for pure

capacitive loads, pure inductive loads, and half-wave rectication loads. A UPS
does not apply to regeneration loads.
● The UPS can be congured with a backfeed protection dry contact to work
with an external automatic circuit breaker, preventing the voltage from
owing back to input terminals over static bypass circuits. If the installation
and maintenance personnel do not need backfeed protection, paste labels on
external mains and bypass input switches, informing that the UPS is
connected to a backfeed protection card. Disconnect the backfeed protection
card from the UPS before operating the UPS.
● The upstream power distribution of the UPS should comply with IEC
60364-4-41.
Environmental Requirements
● The UPS operating environment must meet the requirements for the climate
indicator, mechanically active substance indicator, and chemically active
substance indicator in ETSI EN 300 019-1 class 3.6.
● Ensure that the equipment is used in an environment that meets the product
design specications (including power grid, temperature, and humidity).
Otherwise, the equipment may become faulty, and the resulting equipment
malfunction and component damage are not covered under the warranty.
● After unpacking the UPS, you are advised to power it on as soon as possible.
If the UPS is not in operation, take appropriate measures to prevent moisture,
dust, and foreign matter from entering the UPS.
● Any operation on any electrical equipment in an environment that has
inammable air can cause extreme danger. Strictly obey the operating
environmental requirements specied in related user manuals when using or
storing the equipment.
● Do not use the UPS in the following places:
– Environments that are close to ammable or explosive materials, dust,
corrosive gases or dust, conductive or magnetic dust, abnormal vibration,
or collision
– Rooms or outdoor environments where temperature and humidity are
not controlled (with high temperature, low temperature, moisture, direct
sunlight, or heat sources)
–Non-conned environments near the ocean (0–3.7 km) and indoor or
semi-indoor environments where the temperature and humidity are not
controllable, such as simple equipment rooms, civil houses, garages,
corridors, and direct ventilation cabinets near the ocean; or houses with
only roofs, railway station platforms, gymnasiums, and aquariums
– Environments that are conducive for the growth of microorganisms such
as fungus or mildew
– Environments where rodents (such as mice) and insects exist
1.2.2 Battery Safety
Before installing, operating, or maintaining batteries, read the battery
manufacturer's instructions. Observe the safety precautions provided in this
document which are supplemental to the safety instructions provided by the
battery manufacturer.

D ANGER
Do not short-circuit the positive and negative poles of batteries. Battery short
circuits can generate high instantaneous current, which may cause battery
leakage, overheating, re, or explosion. To avoid battery short circuit, do not
maintain batteries with power on.
D ANGER
Do not expose batteries at high temperatures or around heat-generating sources,
such as high-temperature sunlight, res, transformers, and heaters. Battery
overheating caused by external heat sources may cause vent opening, leakage,
re, or explosions.
D ANGER
Protect batteries from mechanical vibration, collision, punctures, and strong
impact. Otherwise, the batteries may catch re.
D ANGER
To avoid leakage, overheating, re, or explosions, do not disassemble, alter, or
damage batteries, for example, insert sundries into batteries, squeeze batteries, or
immerse batteries in water or other liquids.
D ANGER
Do not burn batteries. Otherwise, the batteries may catch re or explode.
D ANGER
There is a risk of explosion if the model of the replaced battery is incorrect. The
battery should be replaced with a battery of the model recommended by the
manufacturer.
WARNING
Before installing and commissioning batteries, prepare re extinguishing facilities,
such as re ghting sands and carbon dioxide re extinguishers, according to
construction standards and regulations. Before putting the battery room into
operation, ensure that it is equipped with a re extinguishing system that
complies with local laws and regulations, has been constructed and commissioned,
and can work in automatic and manual control modes.

WARNING
Before unpacking batteries, ensure that the packing cases are intact and correctly
placed according to the labels on the packing cases during their storage and
transportation. Do not place a battery upside down or vertically, lay it on one side,
or tilt it. Stack the batteries according to the stacking requirements on the packing
cases. Any bumping or falling may damage the batteries.
WARNING
After unpacking batteries, place them in the required direction. Do not place a
battery upside down or vertically, lay it on one side, tilt it, or stack it with others.
Any bumping or falling may damage the batteries.
WARNING
If the battery system is powered o for installation or commissioning or batteries
are not charged in time after discharge, recharge them in time by referring to the
instructions for recharging batteries with low SOC. Otherwise, batteries may be
damaged due to overdischarge.
CA UTION
● Batteries should be used soon after being deployed onsite. Batteries that have
been stored for an extended period should be recharged periodically.
Otherwise, they may be damaged.
● After the battery system is installed, fully charge batteries (the SOC must reach
100%) and then use them. Replace a battery only if it is faulty.
General Requirements
NO TICE
To ensure battery safety and battery management accuracy, use batteries provided
by the Company. The Company is not responsible for any battery faults caused by
batteries not provided by it.
● If a battery is accidentally exposed to water, do not install it. Move it to a safe
place for isolation and contact technical engineers in a timely manner.
● Keep the battery switch o during installation and maintenance.
● When installing batteries, do not place installation tools on the batteries.
After the installation is complete, clean up the objects on the batteries and
the surrounding area.

● Use batteries of specied models. Using batteries of other models may
damage the batteries.
● Note the polarities when installing batteries. Do not connect the positive and
negative poles of a battery or battery string together. Otherwise, the battery
may be short-circuited.
● Exercise caution when setting battery parameters. Incorrect settings will aect
the power supply and battery lifespan.
● Do not charge a battery when the ambient temperature is below the lower
limit of the operating temperature (charging is forbidden at 0°C). Low-
temperature charging may cause crystallization, which will result in a short
circuit inside the battery.
● Dispose of waste batteries in accordance with local laws and regulations. Do
not dispose of batteries as household waste. If a battery is disposed of
improperly, it may explode.
Battery Leakage
● If a battery leaks, wear goggles, rubber gloves, and protective clothing, power
o the equipment in a timely manner, remove the leaking battery from the
cabinet, and contact technical support.
● If a battery overows, protect the skin or eyes from the leaking liquid. If the
skin or eyes come in contact with the leaking liquid, wash it immediately with
clean water and go to the hospital for medical treatment.
● Special requirements for lead-acid batteries:
WARNING
When the electrolyte overows, absorb and neutralize the electrolyte
immediately. When moving or handling a battery whose electrolyte leaks,
note that the leaking electrolyte may cause damage.
NO TICE
Battery overheating causes deformation, damage, and electrolyte overow.
– When the battery temperature exceeds 60°C, check whether the
electrolyte overows. If the electrolyte overows, handle the leakage
immediately.
– If the electrolyte overows, follow the instructions of the battery
manufacturer or use sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) or sodium carbonate
(Na2CO3) to neutralize the electrolyte.
– Electrolyte overow may damage the equipment. It will corrode metal
parts and boards, and ultimately damage the boards.

– A battery module is an enclosed battery system and will not release any
gases under normal operations.
– If a battery module is improperly treated, for example, burnt, needle-
pricked, squeezed, overcharged, or subject to other adverse conditions
that may cause battery thermal runaway, the battery may be damaged or
an abnormal chemical reaction may occur inside the battery, resulting in
electrolyte leakage or production of gases such as CO2, CO, N2, and H2.
To prevent re or corrosion, ensure that ammable gas (such as
hydrogen) is properly exhausted.
● Lead-acid battery:
Lead-acid batteries in use emit ammable gas. Ensure that batteries are kept
in a well-ventilated area and take preventive measures against re.
NO TICE
● Do not use unsealed lead-acid batteries.
● To prevent re or corrosion, ensure that ammable gas (such as hydrogen)
is properly exhausted for lead-acid batteries.
Battery Room Fire Safety
The re safety of the battery system must comply with local laws and regulations
as well as applicable standards such as NFPA 855-2020, NEN-1010, or GB 50016.
● The battery room must not be located in environments where explosive gases
may exist or released.
● The battery room must not be located near or under areas with water
leakage risks, such as water reservoirs, water landscapes, and water towers.
● It is recommended that an independent battery room be used. If the total
battery capacity exceeds 600 kWh (for example, more than seven cabinets
each with a battery capacity of 80 kWh are deployed), an independent
battery room must be used.
● The indoor layout of batteries should comply with local re protection laws
and regulations in aspects such as production scenarios and the safe distance
and layout of buildings and materials.
● Combustible materials should not be stored in the battery room and should
be at least 3 m away from it.
● A battery room deployed outdoors should be at least 3.0 m away from the
following places: municipal red lines, combustible warehouses, dangerous
goods, high-stacking warehouses, power infrastructure, public roads, and
buildings.
● The battery room should be isolated from the adjacent area by re
compartmentation. Holes should be sealed by restop material. The re
resistance and thermal insulation strength should be the same as that of the
partition wall.
● The battery room should be equipped with re extinguishers that use
halogenatedane, heptauoropropane, peruorohexanone, carbon dioxide, or
dry powder. Each re protection unit should be equipped with at least two re
extinguishers, which should be checked and replaced periodically.

● The battery room should be equipped with cabinet-level or room-level CO
sensors, smoke sensors, and temperature sensors. It is recommended that H2
sensors and open ame sensors be deployed. At least two sensors of each
type should be deployed, and the automatic re alarm system should be
enabled.
● The battery room should be equipped with independent air conditioners and
ventilation ducts, which must not be shared with other equipment areas or
oce areas. If they are shared, re dampers must be installed for the battery
room. The ventilation and exhaust system must interact with the re alarm
system and be able to handle ammable gases with a concentration lower
than 25% lower ammability limit (LFL).
● The battery room should be equipped with a halogenatedane or
peruorohexanone gas re extinguishing system, which should interwork with
the re alarm system. After the extinguishing agent is released, the battery
room should meet the requirement on ame extinguishing concentration
within 10 min.
● The battery room should be equipped with re extinguishing facilities such as
a dry-type water spray or water mist pipe network to cope with the risk of
reignition or re spreading after the battery re is extinguished.
● The battery room should be equipped with pressure relief explosion-proof
devices or pressure relief channels (such as glass windows and magnetic lock
doors) with equivalent areas. According to the NFPA 68 or GB 50016
standard, if side pressure relief is adopted, a protective fence or wall should
be installed outside the pressure relief channels, and the fence or wall should
be at least 12 m away from the pressure relief wall.
● The re alarm system should interact with the ventilation and exhaust system
and automatic re extinguishing system, able to trigger the energy storage
system to disconnect the charging and discharging circuits.
● Fire alarms in the battery room should be automatically reported to the re
supervision center. If the battery room is unattended, an automatic re alarm
system must be deployed to report re alarm signals to the remote
management center.
1.3 Electrical Safety
General Requirements
● Installation, operation, and maintenance must be performed in the sequence
specied in the manual. Do not change the structure or installation sequence
of the equipment without permission.
● When installing the equipment, use a torque wrench with a proper range to
tighten the screws. When using a wrench to tighten the screws, ensure that
the wrench does not tilt and the torque error does not exceed 10% of the
specied value.
● Before installing or removing power cables, ensure that the switch is turned
o.
● If the equipment has multiple inputs, disconnect all the inputs before
operating the equipment.

● Before connecting power cables, check that cable labels are correct and cable
terminals are insulated.
● A circuit breaker equipped with a residual current device (RCD) is not
recommended.
● It is recommended that the three-phase loads be equalized and the neutral-
ground voltage be kept at less than 2 V to meet power distribution
requirements.
● To avoid electric shock, do not connect safety extra-low voltage (SELV) circuits
to telecommunication network voltage (TNV) circuits.
● A damaged cable must be replaced by the manufacturer or professionals to
avoid risks.
● Check equipment connections periodically, ensuring that all screws are
securely tightened.
● Do not use water to clean electrical components inside or outside of a
cabinet.
● Do not scrawl, damage, or block any labels or nameplates on the equipment.
Promptly replace warning labels that have worn out.
Grounding
● For the equipment that needs to be grounded, install the ground cable rst
when installing the equipment and remove the ground cable last when
removing the equipment.
● Ensure that the equipment is connected permanently to the protective
ground. Before operating the equipment, check its electrical connection to
ensure that it is reliably grounded.
● If a "high electricity leakage" tag is attached on the equipment, ground the
protective ground terminal on the equipment enclosure before connecting the
AC input power supply; otherwise, electric shock as a result of electricity
leakage may occur.
● Do not operate the equipment in the absence of a properly installed ground
conductor.
● Do not damage the ground conductor.
Cabling
● When selecting, connecting, and routing cables, follow local safety regulations
and rules.
● The ame spread rating of cables should meet the UL 1581 VW-1 or IEC
60332-3-22 (ZB) or higher requirements.
● Do not route cables behind the air intake or exhaust vents of the equipment.
● If a cable is connected to the cabinet from the top, bend the cable in a U
shape outside the cabinet and then route it into the cabinet.
● Bind cables of the same type together. When routing cables of dierent types,
ensure that they are at least 30 mm away from each other.
● When routing cables, ensure that a distance of at least 30 mm exists between
the cables and heat-generating components or areas. This prevents damage
to the insulation layer of the cables.

● When the temperature is low, violent impact or vibration may damage the
plastic cable sheathing. To ensure safety, comply with the following
requirements:
– Cables can be laid or installed only when the temperature is higher than
0°C. Handle cables with caution, especially at a low temperature.
– Cables stored at subzero temperatures must be stored at room
temperature for at least 24 hours before they are laid out.
● Do not perform any improper operations, for example, dropping cables
directly from a vehicle. Otherwise, the cable performance may deteriorate due
to cable damage, which aects the current-carrying capacity and temperature
rise.
ESD
NO TICE
The static electricity generated by human bodies may damage the electrostatic-
sensitive components on boards, for example, the large-scale integrated (LSI)
circuits.
● Wear ESD gloves or a well-grounded ESD wrist strap when touching the
device or handling boards or application-specic integrated circuits (ASICs).
● When holding a board, hold its edge without touching any components. Do
not touch the components with your bare hands.
● Package boards with ESD packaging materials before storing or transporting
them.
