At HydroHoist®, we take pride in bringing the most advanced, easiest to use, and lowest maintenance boat li
systems to the market. Installaon of the li is simple due to its design and ease of operaon.
The following pages contain step-by-step instrucons of the installaon and operaon processes.
The Front Mount UltraLi™ Series li takes approximately 2 man-hours to assemble. Review all parts, hardware,
and required tools before beginning assembly. Don’t forget: safety rst.

Lis must be installed by an approved HydroHoist® installer. Failure to comply will result in termina-
on of warranty and could cause injury to the user and damage to the li and vessel.
It is STRONGLY recommended that each installer read the manual before aempng an installaon.

PRE-INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS
Due to its size, the following determinaons must be made before installing a Front Mount Li:
• Locaon of li assembly (remote or on-site)
• Method of transport from assembly to launch site
• Equipment required to safely build, transport, and launch the li
• Review the boom of the vessel for strakes, hull steps or protrusions, or thru hull ngs to make sure the
bunks do not come in contact with them.
If you plan to build remotely and assemble the li before transport, be sure state regulaons do not require any
special permits and or escorts for transportaon. Consider how to obtain permits and the cost.
Other items to consider:
• Does the launch site allow commercial work?
• Do you need a permit to work and/or launch at the ramp or dock?
• Is there a me limit on dock use?
• How will you transport the li from the launch site to the install locaon?
• How much of the li can be preassembled and transported safely?
• Do you have equipment with the capacity to li subassemblies onto a trailer for transport to the launch site?
• Does the nal assembly locaon have equipment to hoist and launch the completed li?
• Is there level ground for nal assembly, or will some assembly occur in the water?
• Verify the slip width meets the minimum requirements of the li width.
• See Chart 2 for a list of the required tools.
Working through these consideraons is the rst step in a successful build.

STEP 1: ATTACH FRAME TO TANK (6500)
1. Place the frame on top of the tank.
Be sure to have proper liing equipment. It is also recommended to support the front of the frame with a material
support stand (approx. 2’ o ground level)
2. Bolt the EL-1060 tank brackets to the frame as shown below (3*1/2-13 x 3-1/2” bolts, 6* at washers, 3* lock washers, and
3* 1/2-13 nuts per bracket)
3. Hook the plasc side brackets to the tank. Adjust the frame if necessary to align the holes in the frame brackets with the
holes in the plasc side brackets.
4. Place the bolts, at washers, and single piece washer through the frame bracket and side bracket (2* 1/2-13 x 2-1/2” bolts,
2* at washers, 2* single piece washers per bracket)
5. Install the Plate (Bow Tie), washers, lock washers, and nuts as illustrated. Check that the frame and tank are parallel before
ghtening hardware.

STEP 2: HULL PAD SUPPORTS (V-HULL)
The parts installed in the following steps may require adjustment to beer t the hull of the boat aer inial li. Accurate
measurements of the boats hull prior to assembly and careful aenon to these steps may prevent having to re-posion
the parts over the water.
If the boat is unable to be measured prior to assembly space the Hull Support Columns 36”-42” apart at the rear of the hoist, with
the front Columns posioned 3” narrower.
1. Aach two Hull Support Columns to the front cross channel and two Hull Support Columns to the rear Cross channel. Aach
the columns with the at side oriented as shown, and the brace angle of the column outboard. Fasteners per Column: (2 ea.)
1/2-13 x 1-1/2” Bolt, (4ea.) 1/2” Flat washers, (2ea.) 1/2” Lock Washer, and (2ea.) 1/2-13 nuts.

STEP 3: ATTACH THE HULL PADS AND HULL PAD BRACES
1. Aach Hull Support Pads to the tops of the front and rear Hull Support Columns. The pads long angle frame member should
be inboard so that its weight keeps the pad lted inboard, toward the boat hull. Fasteners per pad: (2ea.) 1/2-13 x 5” bolt,
lock washer, and 1/2-13 nut.
2. Install the Hull Support Pad Braces between the Hull Support Pads and the Hull Support Columns. The at side of the braces
face inboard. Fasteners to aach to the braces. (1ea) 1/2-13 x 1-1/2” Bolt , lock washer, 1/2-13 nut at Column; (1ea) 1/2-13
x 5” Bolt, lock washer, 1/2-13 nut at Hull Support Pad.
Pads can be installed forward as shown, or toward the rear of the hoist. The hull support braces can be installed on
either end of the hull support pad as long as both pads are consistent.

STEP 3: ATTACH THE HULL PADS AND HULL PAD BRACES
1. Install the Pontoon Riser and Le and Right Tri-toon/Pontoon brackets to them selves and the cross channel using
the 1/2” - 13 x 1-1/2” bolts, at washers, lock washers and nuts. Important to use a at washer on every sloed
hole.
2. Aached the Hull Pad Supports with the pads long angle frame member should be inboard so that its weight keeps
the pad lted inboard, toward the boat hull. Fasteners them to the bracket using 1/2-13 x 5” bolts, 1/2” lock wash-
ers, and 1/2-13 nuts.

• Verify spacing of the oat tanks on your Pontoon or Tri-toon boat before installing the hull pads. This I
crical for supporng the vessel properly.
• Make sure that the bunks do not set on any strake or chine.
• Remember on most Tri-toon the center oat tank sets deeper in the water. This means it will not be
raised as high as the outer ones. It is best to leave the center Triton a lile lose when rst loading the
vessel so if its to high it can slide down. Go back aer loading the vessel and make sure o adjust it up to
touch and support the oat tank if needed. If the Tri-toon raiser is too tall it could damage the center
oat tank.

STEP 4: ATTACH MOORING POLE
Determine the locaon of the mooring tube Assembly: The center Cross Channel is preferred, however the rear cross
channel can be used if there is an obstrucon at the Center Cross Channel locaon.
1. Aach Mooring Pole Bracket to Cross Channel. Fasteners: (2ea.) 1/2-13 x 1 –1/2” Bolt, Lock washer, 1/2-13 Nut.
2. Slide Mooring tube into Mooring Pole Bracket. Adjustment: If the li is centered in a 10’ wide slip, the distance from the
edge of the bracket to the inside of the vercal tube is about 12”.
Prior to galvanizing the Mooring Pole Bracket weld nuts were lled with High Temperature Silicone to prevent galva-
nizing build up that would prevent the set screw bolts from threading properly. Their may be some remaining sili-
cone on the threads that need to be cleaned out prior to installing set screw bolts. You may want to run a 1/2” - 13
tap through them
When installing the set screws use an-seize to avoid issue if you need to re-adjust the mooring pole at a later date
3. Install the 2 1/2-13 x 1-1/2” “set screw” bolts into the Mooring Pole Bracket. Hand ghten these down unl it has been
properly ed to the mooring to retain the Mooring tube.
It is recommend NOT to use a impact gun on these to avoid damage to the mooring pole or breaking the set screw o
in the bracket. YOU MAY WANT TO LEAVE THIS HAND TIGHT UNTIL YOU HAVE INSTALLED IT WITH THE MOORING COL-
LAR AT THE DOCK AND FINAL ADJUSTMENTS MADE

STEP 5: STUB TUBE INSTALLATION
1. Apply thread sealant to the Stub Tube Recommend Sealants: #2 Permatex, 3M 4200, or Permatex with PTFE. Sealant must have
PTFE. See sealant manufacturer applicaon instrucons.
2. Screw the Stub Tube into the tank ng.
3. Apply Thread Sealant to the elbow and screw into Stub Tube ng. You may need to hold the Stub Tube ng with a pipe
wrench to avoid turning it while screwing in the elbow. As the threads ghten, pay aenon to the direcon that the elbow /
hose is poinng.
The stub tube is used to retain some air in the tank when the li is all the way down. This residual air avoids the li from
slamming down on the mooring stop and reduce the amount of weight the nger of the dock must support.
If the li will not completely drop, or oats back up, the stub tube can be trimmed in .5” increments unl the li remains
in the down posion. Be sure if you have to remove the stub tubes that you reapply sealant to avoid creang a leak path.

1. Secure one of the hose ends to the nipple on the tank and the other end to the valve in the control. Secure using the provid-
ed hose clamps.
Make sure to route the hose such that the vessel will not come in contact with it when it is loaded or be kinked

STEP 8: Launching the Hoist
Insert Tank Plugs (Pt. No. 2905406) into the 6” water Discharge Holes DO NOT tow without Tank Plugs
Addional oataon, such as a block of Styrofoam under the front frame header is recommended especially in di-
cult towing environments. Secure the oataon to the frame. This oataon must be sucient to prevent the hoist
from pping forward when launched and towed.
1. Secure the Control Unit on top of the tank assembly to the mid cross brace. Make sure all valves are in the closed posion.
2. Aach a towing line to the rear Cross Channel of the li.
3. Back the trailer into the water to oat the hoist. Do this SLOWLY so that the front of the hoist or Tanks do not pivot hard
into the trailer.
4. Slowly tow the hoist to it locaon.

1. To posion the li in the center of a 10’ wide slip, the center of the dock bracket adjustment angle should be set at 19.5” from the
dock nger. Mark this locaon. Increasing this to 25.5” will center the li in an 11’ wide slip, and 31.5” will center it in a 12’ wide slip.
2. The center to center of the two dock brackets in 81”.
3. The forward edge of the C-Channel for the rear mooring brackets should be mounted at 16’ - 11” from the header on the Short
Frame, or 18’ - 11” on the Long Frame. Mark this locaon.
STEP 9: DOCK ATTACHMENT MEASUREMENTS

1. Aach Dock Brackets with the holes of the Vercal Angle aligned with the mark on the dock. Note: Grip Tabs must be installed to
reduce movement of the Lower Dock Bracket Angle. If grip tabs are not applicable, it will be necessary to Through-Bolt the Dock
Brackets to the dock structure to eliminate movement. Fasteners: 2 Grip Tabs per Dock Bracket—(2ea.) 1/2-13 x 1” carriage bolt and
nut.
2. Loosely ghten the 20” Dock Bracket Bolts. It may be necessary to slightly adjust the posion of the Dock Brackets when aaching
the hoist.

2. Float the li in and assemble the bushings in to the frame pivot hole and then align the assembly into the pivot
connecon bracket and bolt into place and ghten.

STEP 11: SIDE MOORING INSTALLATION
1. Take the Mooring Tube Collar and run it down over the Mooring pole get it
in the general locaon it would be installed on the dock allowing a 1/4” gap
between the front of the tube and inside of the collar. Mark the dock as to
where the Mooring Hinge Plate would need to be located to achieve this.
2. Through bolt the Mooring Hinge Plate to the Dock using the 3/8-16 x 1-1/2”
bolts, washers, lock washers, and nuts provided or other appropriate hard-
ware for the applicaon. It is up to the installer to insure that the bracket is
suciently aached to the dock.
3. Bolt the Mooring Collar Tube to the Mooring Hinge Plate with the 5/8”x 11
6-1/2” long bolts and 5/8” Nylock hex nuts. Verify you have at lease 3” of
space between the boom of the collar and the horizontal poron of the
mooring pole to allow it not to hit when the li is all the way up and to ac-
count for wave acon.
4. Adjust the Mooring Pole so it is centered in the Mooring Tube Collar and
then ghten the set screws on the Mooring Pole Bracket from Step 4

The next step must be performed with the mooring pole perpendicular to the water surface/dock nger
surface. You may have to either add or remove air from the tank to achieve this

STEP 12: MOORING STOP AND DOCK PROTECTION INSTALLATION
1. Slide the Mooring Tube Stop over the Mooring Pole. Use the forth
or lowest hole on the pole. Use the hardware specied to secure
the stop.

Alternate Mounng Method
1. Install the Hydrofender on the boat facing side of the mooring pole. The Hydrofender is sloed to allow for exible assembly and
adjustment. You can also assembly using the bolt that holds the mooring stop to cover the stop if desired.

Commissioning the Li
Damage to the li or vessel can result from improper inial setup of the system.
Consult a HydroHoist® approved installer for inial setup and support.
• Installaon and service should be performed by a qualied service professional.
• To lessen the risk of electric shock, disconnect the control box from power during installaon.
• The GFCI supplied with the control is designed for outdoor applicaons, but should NOT to be sub-
merged or directly sprayed with water by the exhaust port of the control box. If user disables the con-
trol unit’s ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) device, this is in direct conict with the recommenda-
ons of US government. Disabling the GFCI could result in severe electrical shock or death.
• Verify that the power receptacle is clean and supplies the proper current for the controller.
• Keep children away from setup and assembly.
• Do not become distracted or walk away from the li during operaon.
• Do not overload the li. Make certain your boat’s bilge pump is set for automac. Signicant water
accumulaon in the bilge may overload the li.
• Make sure ballast tanks are empty before liing the boat.
• Li is not designed to hoist the boat with people in it.
• Never allow a person to be under the boat and/or hoist.
• Weight must be distributed equally side to side and bow to stern before liing. Otherwise, the boat will
not center properly and could be misaligned on the li.
Before commissioning the hoist, read the Operaon Manual completely to familiarize yourself with
all the funcons and features of the control box.

(e) Damaged by disasters such as but not limited to re, ood, wind, and lightning
(f) Damaged by unauthorized aachments or modicaons
(g) Damaged by operaon, maintenance, or repair of the product contrary to wrien instruc-
ons of HydroHoist®
(h) Damaged during shipment
(i) Damaged by any other abuse or misuse by the user
(j) Which has an altered or defaced service number
