1. Overview
This document introduces how to manage PDC760 through Smart MDM (Mobile Device Management), including
programming, feature configuration, application management, key management, paid feature license etc.
Meanwhile, this document introduces how to manage PDC760 through Smart MDM Lite, and troubleshoot the
common problems.

2. Resource Preparation
2.1 Smart MDM
2.1.1 Preparations
Items

Smart MDM
Professional
Installation Package
Please contact the dealer to obtain the installation package in V2.0.09.000.
System License
(Optional)
Please contact the dealer to obtain the system license, which is used to assign the
quantity of devices controlled by Smart MDM.
Note:
You have 30 days free trial to use Smart MDM Professional, during which you can manage
maximum 2 Admin Clients, 50 Multi-mode Advanced radios, and all other devices. If you
need to manage more devices or trial period expires, you can import the system license.
Server Connect Mode,
Address and Port
Please contact server administrator to obtain the server connect mode, IP and port.
Note:
The server connection mode includes safe mode and common mode. The safe mode means
that data is transferred between the server and network elements with https protocol, which is
more secure compared with the common mode.
Radio File
Please contact the dealer to obtain the file (.dev or .zip format) including the radio
information.
Programming Cable
(Optional)
Please contact the dealer to obtain the PC93 programming cable when connecting
the radio to Smart MDM Professional via wired mode.
2.1.2 Software Installation
Refer to Smart MDM_Installation and Configuration Guide to finish the installation and configuration of Smart
MDM.

2.1.3 Asset Preparations
Use the super administrator (admin) to log in Smart MDM Admin Client to prepare the assets.
2.1.3.1 Log in to Smart MDM Admin Client
Step 1 Start Smart MDM Admin Client and click on bottom right of the login window.
Step 2 Choose the connect mode of Smart MDM server, enter the server address and port, then click OK.
If the server is in safe mode, check Safe Mode and install the CA certificate. For details, refer to Smart
MDM Professional_Installation and Configuration Guide.

Step 3 Enter the account admin and the default password 111111, and click Login.
2.1.3.2 Import System License (Optional)
You have a 30-day free trial to use Smart MDM Professional, during which you can manage maximum 2 Admin
Clients, 50 Multi-mode Advanced radios, and all other devices. If you need to manage more devices or trial period
expires, you can import the system license.
Step 1 Click Home.

Step 2 Click Import System License to import the license.
2.1.3.3 Add Administrator
Step 1 Add role.
The role is used to set the permissions of administrator.
1. Choose Asset -> Role.
2. Click New to configure the role information.
3. Click OK.

Step 2 Add administrator account.
1. Choose Asset -> Administrator.
2. Click New to configure the administrator information.
3. Click OK.
The default password of administrator is 111111.
2.1.3.4 Add Admin Station
Administrator can use Admin Client on the current PC only after the PC is added as the admin station.
You can add admin station with the following two methods:

Method 1: the super administrator directly adds the admin station when the administrator of Admin Client
provides machine code.
Method 2: the administrator requests registration to the super administrator for approval.
Here are the details:
Method 1:
Step 1 Use the account of super administrator to log in to Admin Client.
Step 2 Choose Asset -> Admin Station.
Step 3 Click New to configure the admin station information.
Step 4 Click OK.
Method 2:
Step 1 Request the registration of admin station.
1. Start Admin Client and click on bottom right of login window.

Step 5 Check and configure the admin station information and click OK.
2.1.3.5 Add IDS Station
Administrator can use IDS (Integrated Device Station) on the current PC only after the PC is added as the IDS
station.

You can add IDS station with the following two methods:
Method 1: the super administrator directly adds the IDS station when the administrator of IDS provides
machine code.
Method 2: the administrator requests registration to the super administrator for approval.
Here are the details:
Method 1:
Step 1 Use the account of super administrator to log in to Admin Client.
Step 2 Choose Asset -> IDS.
Step 3 Click New to configure the IDS station information.
Step 4 Click OK.
Method 2:
Step 1 Request the registration of IDS station.
1. Start IDS and click on top right.

2. Enter the user name and password and click Login, or log into IDS with fingerprint.
3. Click on top right, and then click in the popped window.
4. Enter the server address and port, and choose the connect mode of the server, and click Register.
If the server is in safe mode, check Safe Mode and install the CA certificate. For details, refer to
Smart MDM Professional_Installation and Configuration Guide.
5. Enter Name and Contact, and click OK.
Step 2 Use the account of super administrator to log in to Admin Client.
Step 3 Choose Asset -> IDS.

Step 5 Check and configure the IDS station information and click OK.
2.1.3.6 Import Radio
Step 1 Choose Asset -> Device -> Multi-mode.
Step 2 Click Import.

Step 3 Click Browse, and choose a radio file in .dev or zip format.
Step 4 Click Open.
The radio information in the file is listed as below.
Step 5 Choose the group.
The administrator can only manage the radios in the current group or subgroup, so the radio must be in
the group or subgroup of the administrator.
Step 6 Click Import.
Step 7 Click OK.
