FactoryDefault:Willloadpre-definedvaluesintoSetupsettings.
SaveandReboot:Saveallchangesandrebootplayer.

Note:
TheseclientsetupvaluescanbemodifiedundertheClientSetupUtilitylocated
inCAT.Thevalueswillbesavedina configurationfile called“autoconfig.mia”.Youcan
savethisfile ontoa CFcardandautoupdatethesignageplayermanuallybyinsertingit
intotheCFslotandswitchingthepowertoon.Ifyousavetheconfigfile as
“autoconfig.mib”,thesignageplayerwilldeleteitafterupdate.

4.TextMessageFormat
Atextfile canbeusedtostoreanytextdataincludingEnglish,ChineseorJapanese.It
willscrollsimilartoa stocktickeruponanypictureorvideoplayback.
Thefirst lineonthetextfile canbeusedtoprogramsettings.

CAT.exe
CATisa programthatallowsadministratorstoupdatemediacontentthroughthe
internet.Aslongasthesignageplayerisconnectedtoa networkthathasaccessto
theinternet,CATwillbeabletocontrolandmaintainplaylists,messagefiles and
normaloperationcommandslikepoweringdownorrebooting.CATwillrunoneither
WindowsXPorWindowsVista.

AccountSetup
TheAccountcommandisusedtocreateormanageuserorgroupnames.Youcan
createmultiplegroupsandassigndifferentaccountnamestothesegroups.When
anyclientlogsintoCAT,itwillgoinitscorrespondinggroupiftheaccountnames
match.
Ifthereisnomatch,thentheclientwillfallunderthedefaultHomegroup.
Autoplayisa newfeatureavailableonCATandfirmware version0225andlater
(firmwareversioncanbeviewedontheupperrightsectionofthemainmenuonthe
signageplayerandtheCATversionontheHelp->Aboutscreen)
WhenthesignageplayerpowersupandlogsintoCAT,theprogramwill
automaticallysenda playlistfile andupdatecontentsasspecifiedontheplaylist.To
enablethismode,makesurethatAutostartisturnedOFFintheplayersetupscreen.

3.ServerUtilitySetup
Underthe
Too ls
menu,youcanlocatetheServerSetupUtilitywhichisusedbythe
administratortomakechangesontheserver.Serverport5021isthedefaultport
usedbyCATtoaccessthesignageplayer.PASVportisusedwhenyouaccessan
FTPthroughtheplaylistcommander.TheRSStickerfile willonlybeusedwhenyou
arerunningRSSfeedsthroughthesignageplayer.

4.ClientUtilitySetup
UnderthesameTools menu,youcanlocateClientSetupUtilitywhichisusedby
theadministratortomakechangesonthesignageplayer.Theautoconfig.miafile is
usedasanupdatefile andtheinternalEEPROMwillsaveanychangesafterthe
update.
a)IPorHostname:Inputa staticIPforLANserverora hostnameforremote
internetserver.
b)Port:Thedefaultportis

If
5021
isinuseontheserverside,thenyou
canmanuallychangeittoanyopenport.Besuretoinputthesameport

Thisoptioncanbeusefulwhenyouneedtoupdatethesignage
playerʼs
playlistandmediacontentsbecauseupona reboot,theclientplayer
willautomaticallycheckforlatestplaylistversionifautostartisenabledfor
HTTPURLupdate(explainedbelow).

RSSprovidesyouraudiencewitha up-to-datefeedofinstantnewsandevents
aroundtheworld.Tousethisfeature,youmustinstalltheRSSsoftwareprovidedby
themanufacturerandnotfromtheRSSadvantagewebsite.Thissoftwareprovides
andRSS2.0feedthatallowsadministratorstomanagetheirfavoriteRSSlinks.
NewstickersonthePCserversidewillmemirroredonthesignageplayerdisplayas
longastheRSSbuttonispressed.
Notethatthebundledversioniswithoutsomeusefulfeatures.Ifyoupreferto
unlockyourRSSsoftware,pleaseclick on“Help->About”topurchaseanupgraded
versionfora 10%discount.
