Buckle Pretensioner
Installation Instructions
What is the Buckle Pretensioner and how does it work?
In the event of side roll, the Buckle Pretensioner deploys at each static seating
position. The pretensioner retracts the cable and buckle removing slack from
the belt.
The buckle pretensioner is only effective when used with a seatbelt. ALWAYS
WEAR YOUR SEATBELT.
Important Facts
PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE GUIDE BEFORE INSTALLING THE
BUCKLE PRETENSIONER.
• Buckle Pretensioner is to be used in a specific vehicle
application and seating position.
• Use this Buckle Pretensioner installation guide in addition to
the vehicle manufacturer's guide.
• Use only IMMI provided fasteners.
Buckle Pretensioner Installation
1. DO NOT PUNCTURE OR DRILL BUCKLE PRETENSIONER
2. DO NOT MOUNT ANYTHING NEAR THE UNIT THAT COULD
INTERFERE WITH THE TRAVEL PATH OF THE BUCKLE.
3. Ensure the battery disconnect switch is in the OFF position and
battery leads are disconnected from battery.
4. If replacing a previously installed system, disconnect the Roll
Sensor(s) from the wire harness.
5. Roll Sensor connections should always be made last. ENSURE
ROLL SENSOR IS DISCONNECTED!
The unit is designed to activate once. If the system is activated
or is damaged, the unit must be replaced by authorized personnel.
WARNING
DO NOT APPLY HEAT
Temperatures over 85° C (185° F) could cause
the unit to deploy. The deploying Buckle
Pretensioner could cause serious injury or death.
HAZARDOUS OPERATION
Applying power prematurely could deploy occupant protective
devices, causing serious injury or death to installer. Disconnect and
tag out power. Always make connections to Roll Sensor last. Keep
clear of protective devices when first applying power.

Unpacking the Buckle Pretensioner
1. Remove unit from main carton. There are 4 units per carton. See
FIGURE 1
2. If parts need to be returned, they must be returned in the
original packaging.
Product Identification
1. Locate the product identification label. This is located on the
top surface of the unit. See FIGURE 2
2. Verify your unit is the proper system for your configuration.
Mounting Buckle Pretensioner to Vehicle
1. Use only pre-drilled mounting holes.
2. Metal to metal contact is mandatory on all mounting points.
3. Position the unit in place. Make sure wiring harness is free and
not pinched under unit. See FIGURES 3, 4 & 5
4. DO NOT MAKE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTION TO UNIT AT
THIS TIME.
5. Position the unit on the cab seat base (see FIGURE 3), cab engine
tunnel wall (see FIGURE 4), or cab wall (see FIGURE 5) and align
the holes with the mounting holes on the unit.
6. Hand start both bolts into their mounting holes. Using a wrench
tighten bolts.
7. Torque each mounting bolt (2) on Buckle Pretensioner to 35 to
40 ft.-lbs.
Electrical Connection and Test
1. Ensure battery switch is OFF.
2. Make connection between cab wiring harness and Buckle
Pretensioner. See FIGURE 4
3. Verify that both plugs and connectors are latched together.
