Intellian t240CK Introduction
Intellian t240CK is the latest addition to Intellian’s line of satellite TV antenna
systems. With a 2.4m (97”) reector, the t240CK is a C-band and Ku-band
solution designed for large vessels such as cruise ships, super yachts and
commercial vessels that travel to remote areas.
The t240CK is capable of receiving both C-band and Ku-band satellite TV signals
simultaneously and is compatible with HD and SD satellite TV service reception
around the global. In addition, the t240CK incorporates Intellian’s multi-band
and multi-polarization WorldView™ LNB that allows users to seamlessly tune
in any satellite TV service by simply pushing of a button without manually
changing the LNB inside the antenna dome each time a vessel crosses into a
different satellite service region.
The t240CK is easy to operate, and simple to upgrade and manage. Each unit
comes preloaded with a ready-to-use, client-customized global satellite library
that can be conveniently updated via Intellian’s Aptus PC interface software
included with the unit. To further simplify operation, rmware updates can be
done entirely through the Wi-Fi interface of the ACU.
Robust and versatile, the t240CK marks a new era of Global TV entertainment

Intellian t240CK features
Simultaneous C-band and Ku-band TV Reception
The t240CK is designed to receive both C- and Ku-band satellite signal
simultaneously. With multiple RF outputs from the below deck multi-switch,
both C- and Ku-band receivers can be connected, simplifying installation and
providing seamless operation.
Hands-Free WorldView™ LNB
The t240CK incorporates Intellian’s patent pending WorldView LNB which receives
multi-band and multi-polarization satellite TV services around the globe. This
eliminates the need to climb into the radome to change the LNB each time when
traveling to a different satellite service region.
Gyro-Free Satellite Search Capability
Intellian’s new generation Gyro-free satellite search function enables the t240CK
to acquire and track the satellite without requiring a separate input from the ship’s
gyro-compass.
Easy Installation, Setup and Operation
With the t240CK, installation and setup are easier than ever. Once a satellite’s
signal peak position is acquired during the rst-time setup, the antenna system
will re-adjust all the parameters (bow adjust, home sensor offset, azimuth and
elevation position) automatically even after it reboots to save a tremendous
amount of time and effort for the operators.
Remote Management Solution
The t240CK can be accessed, monitored and controlled from any location in
the world by accessing the ACU’s built-in web based Monitoring and Control
software. Additionally, routine maintenance activities can be automated. These
functions include rmware upgrades, tracking parameters logging performance
data, and system diagnosis.
Dedicated Management Ethernet Port
The ACU of the t240CK provides a convenient Management Ethernet Port on the
front panel. The Management Port supports DHCP network connection by default
allowing quick network access without additional PC IP conguration.
Wireless Connectivity and Intellian App
The built-in Wi-Fi enables the ACU to be wirelessly connected and can be either
turned on and off by a switch. Any kind of wireless devices such as PCs, laptops
and smartphones can be used to connect to the ACU and monitor, control
and change the settings of the system wirelessly. The D-Sub Connector on the
antenna can be connected to a Serial to Bluetooth converter (optional) enabling
the user to monitor the antenna inside the Radome using a PC with Bluetooth
connectivity. An Intellian App is available for download to access to the ACU via
Wi-Fi and operate
the antenna from their iPhone, iPad or other network devices.

Intellian Network Devices
Intellian Aptus Web enables connection to the t240CK to monitor the real
time status of the connected system. This function provides users with direct
connection to network devices allowing an integrated control solution for linking
multiple devices.

For your satellite TV system to work properly, the system will have to be connected
with all of the provided components properly as shown in the gure below (Refer to
next chapter ‘Installation’ in this manual for more detailed connection instructions).

Dual C-band Linear only Conguration
For C-band Linear Polarized satellite signal reception, a multi-switch is required to be
connected between the antenna and C-band receivers. This conguration allows to receive
C-band Linear Polarized only.
Dual C-band & Ku-band Universal Quad High Conguration
This conguration allows to receive simultaneous C-band and Ku-band Universal High signal.
For C-band and Ku-band Universal High signal receptions, a multi-switch is required to be
connected between the antenna and C-band and Ku-band receivers. A 22kHz tone will be
generated from Ku-band Receiver to receive Ku-band high-band signal.

Dual C-band & Ku-band Arbitrary Signal (Any Pol / Local) Conguration
For C-band and Ku-band Linear with any programmed LO satellite signal receptions, a multi-
switch is required to be connected between the antenna and C-band and Ku-band receivers.
In addition, a 22kHz tone which can be generated from Ku-band receiver or a Tone generator
is required to send to the multi-switch.
Ku-band Universal Quad Conguration
For simultaneous Ku-band Linear Polarized Low & High satellite signal receptions, a multi-
switch is required to be connected between the antenna and Ku-band receivers.

Antenna Unit
The antenna unit includes an antenna pedestal inside a radome assembly unit.
The pedestal consists of the satellite antenna's main dish and sub-reector module
with a WorldView™ Ku-band LNB and two C-band LNBs mounted on a stabilized
pedestal. The radome protects the antenna pedestal assembly unit from severe
marine environments.

ACU (Antenna Control Unit)
The digital VFD (Vacuum Fluorescent Display) and touch keypad panel
allows for easy operation of the ACU, even in the dark.

Planning the Installation
Selection of Antenna Installation Site
The installation of t240CK requires extreme precaution and safety measures given
its size and weight. Failure to follow the correct installation process may lead to
injury to the installer and/or cause damage to the system.
In order to maximize the performance of the system, a thorough review of this
installation guide is strongly recommended, as well as executing the installation
process as it is noted on this manual.
The system should be placed where there would be no blockage that would interfere
the signals. A safe mounting place should be selected for given its heavy weight
and size.
System Cable Installation Guide
Before installing the system cables, you need to take the following points into
consideration.
• All cables need to be well clamped and protected from physical damage
and exposure to heat and humidity.
• Remember to observe the minimum bend radius of the selected cable.
• Where a cable passes through an exposed bulkhead or deck-head,
a watertight gland or swan neck tube should be used.
RF Cables (Customer Supplied)
Due to voltage losses that occur across the length of the RF coax on L-Band,
Intellian recommends the following 75 ohm coax cable types for standard system
installations. For cables that run longer than 100 meters, Intellian recommends
Fiber Optic Cables with Fiber Optic Converters.
Power Requirements
You need to follow the power requirements to avoid damage the system.
Intellian t240CK is designed to work on a power supply between 100 ~ 240V AC.

Installation and mounting of antenna
The method of installation and mounting of antenna may vary with vessel design but
the following procedures are applicable in most situations, and will result in a secure
and effective installation.
Conrmation of size prior to installation
• Conrm the height and diameter of the bottom surface of the antenna before
installing it.
• The space must be sufcient for installing the antenna unit considering the height
and diameter of the antenna.
• The height and the diameter of the bottom surface of the antenna are as shown
in the following drawing. It is strongly suggested that the installation is conducted
using a crane.
