canbedeformedorbrokenifexcessivesidepressure
isexertedonthebedrails.Thesebedrailsareused
forthepurposeofpreventinganindividualfrom
inadvertentlyrollingoutofbed.Thebedrailsare
notintendednormaybeusedforrestraintpurposes.
Ifanindividualiscapableofinjuringhimself/herself,
aphysicianorahealthcareprofessionalshouldbe
consultedforalternativemeansofsaferestraint.
–Afterraising/loweringthehead/footendoftheelectric
bed,checkthedistancebetweenthebottomofthe
bedrailandthemattress.Ifthereisexcessivedistance
betweenthebottomofthebedrailandthemattress
inwhichindividualsmaybecomeentangled,adjust
theheightofthebedrail(ifapplicable),orprovide
alternativemeansofpatientprotection.
–DONOTusethesiderailsaspushhandlesformoving
theelectricbed.
–Replacementmattressesandbedsiderailswith
dimensionsdifferentfromtheoriginalequipment
suppliedorspecifiedbythebedframemanufacturer
arenotinterchangeable.Variationsinbedsiderail
design,widthandthicknessorfirmnessofthemattress
couldcause/contributetoentrapment.

Thebedrailscanbemountedoneithertheheadand/orfoot
endofthebed.
1.LocatethebedrailmountingholesAontheheadorfootend
ofthebedframe.
2.SecurethebedrailmountingbracketsBtothebedframeusing
mountinghardwareC.Ensureallhardwareistightenedsecurely.
Reversethisproceduretoremovethebedrailmounting
brackets.
3.3InstallingtheBedRails
1.PullandholdtheplungerknobDonthebedrailmounting
bracketB.
2.Insertthebedrailintothebedrailmountingbracket.
3.Releasetheplungerknob.
4.Raisethebedrailuntiltheplungerpinclickssecurelyintothe
adjustmentholeEorlowerthebedrailuntilthetopsupportof
thebedrailrestssecurelyagainstthetopofthebedrailmounting
bracket.
5.RepeatSTEPS1-4toinstalltheremainingbedrails.
3.4Raising/LoweringtheBedRails
Thebedrailshavetwopositions,raised(Up)andlowered
(Down).

1.PullplungerknobDandliftthebedrail.
2.Raisethebedrailuntiltheplungerpinengagestheadjustment
holeE.Anaudibleclickwillbeheard.
Lowering
1.GraspthebedrailandpullplungerknobD.
2.Lowerbedrailuntilthetopsupportisrestingonthebedrail
mountingbracketB.
4Maintenance
4.1CleaningandCare
Invacarerecommendsmaintenanceandcleaningproceduresbe
conductedinitially,betweenusers,onaregularscheduleandas
needed.
SanitizingMethod
Allsurfacesmaybecleanedwith:
•Soapywater
•Anycommonconsumerdisinfectingproduct
•Mostnon-abrasivecommerciallyavailabledisinfectingproducts
MaintenanceCheck
•Verifythefunctionoftheplungerknob.Ensurethepinisfreeof
dirtand/orforeignmaterialthatcouldimpairitsfunction.
•Ensurethattherailslockasspecified.
•Tighten,adjustorreplaceanypartssuchasendcaps,knobs,bolts,
screws,etc.thatareloose,showsignsofwearoraremissing.
EnvironmentalConditionsforStorage
Storethebedinacleananddryenvironmentwithanambient
temperaturerangebetween15°and30°Celsius(59°to86°F).
EnvironmentalConditionsforTransport
Transportthebedinacleananddryenvironment.
ServiceLife
Thisproducthasanexpectedusefullifeofthree(3)yearswhenused
inaccordancewithsafetyinstructions,maintenanceintervalsand
correctusestatedinthismanual.
5Disposal
5.1Disposal
Whentheproductcannolongerbeused,theproduct,accessories
andthepackagingmaterialsshouldbesortedcorrectly.Pleasebe
environmentallyresponsibleandrecyclethisproductthroughyour
recyclingfacilityatitsendoflife.
Thedisposalandrecyclingofuseddevicesandpackagingmustcomply
withtheapplicablelegalregulations.

THEWARRANTYBELOWHASBEENDRAFTEDTOCOMPLYWITHFEDERALLAWAPPLICABLETOPRODUCTSMANUFACTURED
AFTERJULY4,1975.
Thiswarrantyisextendedonlytotheoriginalpurchaser/userofourproducts.
Thiswarrantygivesyouspecificlegalrightsandyoumayalsohaveotherlegalrightswhichvaryfromstatetostate.
Invacarewarrantsitsproducttobefreefromdefectsinmaterialsandworkmanshipforoneyearfortheoriginalpurchaser.Ifwithinsuchwarranty
periodanysuchproductshallbeproventobedefective,suchproductshallberepairedorreplaced,atInvacare'soption.Thiswarrantydoesnot
includeanylabororshippingchargesincurredinreplacementpartinstallationorrepairofanysuchproduct.Invacare'ssoleobligationandyour
exclusiveremedyunderthiswarrantyshallbelimitedtosuchrepairand/orreplacement.
Forwarrantyservice,pleasecontactthedealerfromwhomyoupurchasedyourInvacareproduct.Intheeventyoudonotreceivesatisfactory
warrantyservice,pleasewritedirectlytoInvacareattheaddressonthebackcover.Providedealer'sname,address,modelnumber,dateofpurchase,
indicatenatureofthedefectand,iftheproductisserialized,indicatetheserialnumber.
InvacareCorporationwillissueareturnauthorization.Thedefectiveunitorpartsmustbereturnedforwarrantyinspectionusingtheserialnumber,
whenapplicable,asidentificationwithinthirty(30)daysofreturnauthorizationdate.DONOTreturnproductstoourfactorywithoutourprior
consent.C.O.D.shipmentswillberefused;pleaseprepayshippingcharges.
