3.1Productdescription
Thisproductismadeoffoamincorporatinggeometricallycut
sectionsthatoperateindependentlytoprovideimmersion
andevenweightdistribution.Thesesectionsalsoallow
airtocirculate,whichcanhaveapositiveeffecton
microclimateconditions.Thewater-resistantcoverprovides
avapour-permeablesurface,toensurepatientcomfortand
maximisetheeffectivenessofthefoam.Thecoverhasa
non-slipbasespecicallydesignedtoinhibittheoverlayfrom
slippingoncepositionedcorrectly.Thisproductprovides
theoptimumpreventionofpressureinjuriesforthose“High
Risk”patients.
3.2Intendeduse
Thisproductisintendedtobeusedaspartofanoverall
pressureinjurypreventionprogramofcare.Designedtobe
usedincombinationwithaconventionalmattress,tooffer
additionalcomfortandsupporttositontopofanexisting
conventionalmattress.Itcanbeusedinconjunctionwitha
pressureinjurypreventionprogramfor"HighRisk"patients
whentheproductisinnormaluse.Normaluseisdened
byInvacareLtdaswhentheproductisplaced,without
additionalcoversorpadding,betweentheuserandthe
supportsurface.Replacethecoverincaseofdamage.Do
notusewithanothercover.

Intendedusersareadultsandadolescentswithrestrictedor
limitedmobilityandoractivityinahospital,longtermcare
orhomecaresetting.

Suitableforusers“atrisk/highrisk”ofdevelopingpressure

eachpatientandonaminimummonthlybasis(depending
onwhichoccursrst)byasuitablyqualiedandcompetent
person.

2.Checkforanystainingontheinteriorfoam.
3.Replaceanydamagedcoverorstainedfoamanddispose
ofasperlocalauthorityprocedure.

cleaningwithadilutecleaningsolutionat95°C
inthewashingmachine.
–Cleanupallspillagesofbodilyuidsi.e.blood,
urine,faeces,sputum,woundexudateandall
otherbodilysecretionsassoonaspossible
usingasuitabledetergent.
–Largespillagesofbloodshouldbeabsorbed
andremovedwithpapertowelsrst.
5.3ReplacingCover
1.Unzipcoverandremoveitcarefullyfromfoaminsert.
2.Placenewcoverontofoaminsert.
3.Closezipper.
