ThepurposeoftheAssistBaristoprovidetheresidentagrabbar
inwhichtheycanusetoassistthemselvesfromasittingpositionto
standingwhileexitingalong-termcarebed.Clinicalstaffmustdecide
whetheraresidentwouldbenefitfromtheuseofthisaid.Vulnerable
patientneedsshouldbeconsideredbeforeusingthisproduct.
TheAssistBarshouldNOTbeusedasarail.TheAssistBar
isNOTintendedtopreventtheresidentfromrollingout
ofthebed.

ThepurposeoftheAssistBaristoprovidetheresidentagrabbar
inwhichtheycanusetoassistthemselvesfromasittingpositionto
standingwhileexitingalong-termcarebed.Clinicalstaffmustdecide
whetheraresidentwouldbenefitfromtheuseofthisaid.Vulnerable
patientneedsshouldbeconsideredbeforeusingthisproduct.
TheAssistBarshouldNOTbeusedasarail.TheAssistBar
isNOTintendedtopreventtheresidentfromrollingout
ofthebed.
Itisimportantthatcaregiversknowhowtooperatethe
AssistBarsafely.Theassistbarslockintwopositions:
•Assist(Up)A:Aidinenteringandexitingthebed.
•Storage(Down)B:Atrestposition,barisstored
discreetly.
Whenchangingpositionoftheassistbar,holdandraise
thebarwithonehandwhilepullingtheadjustmentknobC
outwardwiththeotherhand.
EnsureassistbarfacesheadendDinStorage(down)
position.Refertoinstallationsectionifitdoesnot.

pendantcoupling,ensurethemainpowertothebed
isdisconnectedandthecapacitorinsidethecontrol
boxisfullydischarged.
–Fullcapacitordischargecanbeachievedbysequentially
depressingthe'Up'and'Down'buttonsonthependant
atleast20times,aftermainelectricalpowertothe
controlboxiscut.

entanglementand/orpinched,orseveredcords:
–Ensurethatallcord(s)areroutedandsecuredproperly.
–Keepallmovingparts,includingthemainframe,

(i.e.blankets/sheets,tubing,wiring,cords,etc.)during
operationofthebed.
Hangpendantonhook(inpendantholster)whennotinuse.
1.Peelthebackingfromthesuppliedhookandloopstrip.(P/N
PNDNT—V—LOOP).
2.Positionthehookandloopstripinsidethecuppedpartofthe
pendantholster.
3.Pressthestripdownontothependant.
4.PlacethependantholsteranywherealongtheAssistBar,between
thetwobars.
5.SlidethePendantintothependantholster.
6.ThependantholstermaybeusedwiththeAssistBareitherupor
down.

7.1CleaningandCare
Invacarerecommendsmaintenanceandcleaningproceduresbe
conductedinitially,betweenusers,onaregularscheduleandas
needed.
SanitizingMethod
Allsurfacesmaybecleanedwith:
•soapywater
•anycommonconsumerdisinfectingproduct
•mostnon-abrasivecommerciallyavailabledisinfectingproducts
MaintenanceCheck
•Verifythefunctionofthespringlatch-knobassembly.Ensure
thelatchisfreeofdirtand/orforeignmaterialthatcouldimpair
itsfunction.
•EnsurethattheAssistBarsengageandlockasspecified.
•Tighten,adjustorreplaceanypartssuchasendcaps,knobs,bolts,
screws,etc.thatareloose,showsignsofwearoraremissing.
EnvironmentalConditionsforStorage
Storethebedinacleananddryenvironmentwithanambient
temperaturerangebetween15°and30°Celsius(59°to86°F).
EnvironmentalConditionsforTransport
Transportthebedinacleananddryenvironment.
8Disposal
8.1Disposal
Whentheproductcannolongerbeused,theproduct,accessories
andthepackagingmaterialsshouldbesortedcorrectly.Pleasebe
environmentallyresponsibleandrecyclethisproductthroughyour
recyclingfacilityatitsendoflife.
Thedisposalandrecyclingofuseddevicesandpackagingmustcomply
withtheapplicablelegalregulations.

Thiswarrantyisextendedonlytotheoriginalpurchaserwho
purchasesthisproductwhennewandunusedfromInvacare
ContinuingCare,Inc.oradealer.Thiswarrantyisnotextendedto
anyotherpersonorentityandisnottransferableorassignabletoany
subsequentpurchaserorowner.Coverageunderthiswarrantywill
enduponanysuchsubsequentsaleorothertransferoftitletoany
otherperson.
Thiswarrantygivesyouspecificlegalrightsandyoumayalsohave
otherlegalrightswhichvaryfromstatetostate.
ICCIwarrantsthisproductwhenpurchasednewandunusedtobe
freefromdefectsinmaterialsandworkmanshipforaperiodofone
yearfromdateofpurchasefromICCIoradealer,withacopyof
theseller’sinvoicerequiredforcoverageunderthiswarranty.If
withinsuchwarrantyperiodsanysuchproductshallbeproventobe
defective,suchproductshallberepairedorreplaced,atICCI’soption.
Thiswarrantydoesnotincludeanylabororshippingchargesincurred
inreplacementpartinstallationorrepairofanysuchproduct.
ICCI'ssoleobligationandyourexclusiveremedyunderthiswarranty
shallbelimitedtosuchrepairand/orreplacement.
Forwarrantyservice,pleasecontactthedealerfromwhomyou
purchasedyourICCIproduct.Intheeventyoudonotreceive
satisfactorywarrantyservice,pleasewritedirectlytoICCIatthe
