WHEELCHAIR USER
As a manufacturer f wheelchairs, Invacare endeav rs t supply a wide variety f
wheelchairs t meet many needs f the end user. H wever, final selecti n f the
type f wheelchair t be used by an individual rests s lely with the user and his/her
healthcare pr fessi nal capable f making such a selecti n.
The seat p siti ning strap is a p siti ning belt ONLY. It is n t designed f r use as a
safety device withstanding high stress l ads such as aut r aircraft safety belts. If
signs f wear appear, belt must be replaced immediately.
WHEELCHAIR TIE-DOWN RESTRAINTS AND SEAT RESTRAINTS (TRRO OR
TRBKTS)
TRRO includes f ur fact ry-installed transp rt brackets and a wheelchair anch red
pelvic belt. TRRO has been crash-tested in acc rdance with ANSI/RESNA WC V l 1
Secti n 19 Fr ntal Impact Test requirements f r wheelchairs with a 168 lb crash
dummy, which c rresp nds t a pers n with a weight f 114 t 209 lbs.
TRBKTS includes f ur fact ry-installed wheelchair transp rt brackets. TRBKTS has
n t been crash-tested in acc rdance with WC 19. Use these transp rt brackets nly
t secure an un ccupied wheelchair during transp rt.
As f this date, the Department f Transp rtati n has n t appr ved any tie-d wn
systems f r transp rtati n f a user while in a wheelchair, in a m ving vehicle f any
type. It is Invacare’s p siti n that users f wheelchairs sh uld be transferred int
appr priate seating in vehicles f r transp rtati n and use be made f the restraints
made available by the aut industry. Invacare cann t and d es n t rec mmend any
wheelchair transp rtati n systems.

SEAT POSITIONING STRAP
It is the bligati n f the Dealers, Therapists and ther Healthcare Pr fessi nals t
determine if a seat p siti ning strap is required t ensure the safe perati n f this
equipment by the user. Seri us injury can ccur in the event f a fall fr m a
p wered wheelchair.
SIGNAL WORD MEANING
DANGER
Danger indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not avoided,
will result in death or serious injury.
WARNING
Warning indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided,
could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION
Caution indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided,
may result in property damage.

 TRRO AND TRBKTS WARNINGS
Only use the transp rt brackets included with TRRO and TRBKTS f r the purp ses
described in this manual.
Battery supp rt brackets MUST be installed at all times. Otherwise, the wheelchair
will n t be WC/19 c mpliant. Refer t Rem ving/Installing Batteries Fr m/Int
Battery Tray n page 88.
 WARNING
Invacare pr ducts are specifically designed and manufactured f r use in c njuncti n
with Invacare access ries. Access ries designed by ther manufacturers have n t
been tested by Invacare and are n t rec mmended f r use with Invacare pr ducts.
Wheelchairs sh uld be examined during maintenance f r signs f c rr si n (water
exp sure, inc ntinence, etc). Electrical c mp nents damaged by c rr si n sh uld
be replaced IMMEDIATELY.
Wheelchairs that are used by inc ntinent users and/ r are frequently exp sed t
water may require replacement f electrical c mp nents m re frequently.
