ifiver IChapterl Getting Started
Installing Software iriver plus 3and Windows Media Player 11 are integrated programs that efficiently manage music and picture files.
Using iriver plus 3and Windows Media Player 11 ,you can save music and picture files from PC to the iriver clix.

1.Insert the installation CD to your PC to display the
installation process screen.
2. Select iriver plus 3and click the [Install] button.
Complete the installation process following the
on-screen instructions.

•Intel® Pentium® II 233MHz or higher processor speed
•Windows® 98 SE/ME/2000/XP
•64MB or above memory
•30MB or above hard disk space
•Speaker and sound card which supports 16 bit
•Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 or later
•SVGA or high resolution monitor
(1024x768 resolution or higher)
For more information on using iriver plus 3, refer to
page 34 -36.
To connect the product to iriver plus 3, select
[Settings >Advanced >Connection type] and set
it to [MSC (UMS)].

•Intel® Pentium® II 233MHz or higher processor speed
•Windows® XP
•64MB or above memory
•30MB or above hard disk space
•Speaker and sound card which supports 16 bit
•Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 or later
•SVGA or high resolution monitor
(1024x768 resolution or higher)

1.Press the [6] button on the product to turn it on. 2. Press and hold the [0] button on the product to turn
it off.

UQyThis product has automatic power saving function to save battery power. Based on the setting of power saving mode,
the product will be automatically turned off after designated period without operation. For more information on setting this
mode, refer to [Settings >Timer >Auto Power off]. (Refer to page 31 .)
Based on this setting, the way to turn on the product and battery consumption rate will be changed. For more information on
setting this mode, refer to [Settings >Advanced >Power Off Type], (Refer to page 31 .)
•Sleep
-When turn on the product, the last used function will be displayed.
-The battery will be consumed slightly in this mode.
•Power Off
-When turn on the product, the main screen will be displayed. The booting time will be slightly taken to read all stored files.
-The battery will not be consumed when powered off.

iriver D-Click System™
1.The iriver clix has an unique operating system named iriver D-Click System™. To operate the product,
press down on the edge of the screen in one of four directions.
Up :Moves to the previous sub-menu.

•Four arrows will be changed into different
shapes based on the functions in each menu.
•Press and hold [LEFT] to return to the
[Home] menu.
•In different menus, press and hold [RIGHT]
to display the screen of current playing music.
•While playing file, press and hold [RIGHT]
to display the additional features.

function.

1.Connect the earphones to the jack of the product.

|Charging the Battery |
1.Turn on your PC and connect the iriver clix to it
using the USB cable.

While the product is connected to PC using the USB cable,
the integrated battery is will be charged automatically.
Do not use any other USB cable that is not provided with
the product. It may case amalfunction.
Check if the iriver clix is connected to ahigh-power USB 2.0
port. Some low-power USB ports built in some peripheral
devices such as certain keyboards and USB hub without
integrated power may not provide enough power to charge.
While the PC is switched to standby mode, the
product may not be charged.
Charge the product only in room temperature. The product
may not be charged in extremely hot and cold place.
The available usage time of charged battery becomes
gradually short after sometime.
It will be fully charged within 2.5 hours. (Based on fully
discharged and stop mode)
If you use the player during charging process, the charging
time might be extended.

1.Press the [C] button on the product to turn it on.
2. Turn on your PC and connect the iriver clix to it
using the USB cable.

Copying file/folder to the product
1.After selecting the file/folder in your PC, drag &
drop it to the drive which appears as the product.
Deleting file/folder from the product
1.After selecting the file/folder, click it with the
right mouse button and select [Delete].
2. Click [Yes] in the [Confirm File Delete/Confirm
Folder Delete] popup window to delete the file/folder.

Always properly connect the USB cable.
When you transfer data using the USB cable, never disconnect it or turn off the power to protect your data from
damage.

1.Click the icon on the taskbar to disconnect the 2. Click the [Stop] button to confirm the disconnection,

UQyThe icon on the taskbar may be hidden in some operating systems. Click "Show hidden icons" to display the hidden icon.
The "Safely Remove Hardware" may not be available while using some applications such as Windows Explorer or Windows
Media Player. Close all applications first before performing the "Safely Remove Hardware".
If the "Safely Remove Hardware" is not performed properly, try it after afew minutes.
If [Settings >Advanced >Connection type] is set to [MTP], the "Safely Remove Hardware" popup message will not appear.
Just ignore this message and disconnect the product from your PC.

1. Select [Extras-Recording] in the [Home] menu.
2. In Standby mode, press [RIGHT] to start recording
and press it again to stop recording.

In Standby mode, press and hold [RIGHT] to display
the additional features.
•Saved Recordings :Displays the list of recorded files.
Press [UP/DOWN] to select the
file and press [RIGHT] to play it.
•Voice Recording Quality :Sets the quality of recorded voice.
•Voice Detector :Records voice only when sound
can be detected.
You cannot control the volume while recording.
If the remaining memory space or power is not enough,
the recording will be automatically stopped.
The recorded file will be saved in the Recordings/Voice
folder as following format.
VOICEYYMMDD_XXX.MP3
(YY: Year, MM: Month, DD: Day, XXX: Sequential number)
The file size per one minute varies by the recording quality.
Low: Approximately 250 KB Middle: Approximately 500 KB
High: Approximately 1MB

1.Select the [Extras-Alarm Clock] in the [Home] menu.
2. Press [RIGHT] to activate/deactivate alarm clock.

•Show Icons :Selects whether the icons will be
displayed or not in the [Alarm Clock] menu.
•Set Alarm Time :Sets the time of alarm clock.
[RIGHT] -Switches between sub-menus.
[UP/DOWN] -Sets a sub-menu.
•Set Quick Alarm :Automatically turns on after
designated time.
•Select Alarm Type :Selects the type of alarm to
be operated.
•Alarm Volume :Sets the sound volume.
•Alarm Duration :Sets the duration of alarming sound.
