INTRODUCTION
Thank you for choosing the GlowBox Platinum electric vehicle charging station. This user manual will
provide you with the necessary information to troubleshoot, understand the product overview, and
effectively use your charging station. The GlowBox Platinum offers a reliable and efficient charging
solution for your electric vehicle, whether you are a home user or a business owner.
The Target Group to Which the Instruction is Addressed
This document is intended for persons performing the activities of using and servicing the GlowBox
Platinum Charging Station worldwide. It is absolutely necessary to comply with the standards and
legal acts in force in the respective country.
Personnel carrying out activities related to operation and servicing must have the necessary
qualifications allowing them to perform these activities. The personnel must strictly comply with the
instructions and safety requirements, and due to their qualifications must be able to recognize risks
and avoid possible hazards.
The use and servicing of the charging station requires knowledge of this manual.
Activities related to assembly and commissioning are included in a separate manual.

Failure to comply with the information contained in this manual may lead to:

The user of the charging station is obliged to follow the instruction manual appropriate for the
vehicle.
Scope of Application of the GlowBox Platinum Charging Station
The GlowBox Platinum charging station is intended only for charging electric and hybrid passenger
cars, i.e. cars with electric drive in accordance with the PN-EN 61851 standard and may not be used
for purposes other than those provided for in this standard.

Vocabulary
Whenever the word is used in this document:
• Operator - means the entity supervising the proper operation of the charging station and managing
remote authorization of the charging process from the level of the server managing the operation of
the charging station.
• User - means a person who wants to use the charging station to charge an electric vehicle within
the meaning of PN-EN 61851.
• Service technician - means a person with appropriate knowledge, skills and a qualification
certificate who performs inspections, repairs or functional checks of the station as part of
commissioning, maintenance and repair work.
• Installer - means a person with appropriate electrical qualifications who connects the power supply
of the charging station to the existing power infrastructure.
• Fitter –means a person performing mechanical assembly of the station.
• Authorized person –a person with qualifications appointed to carry out assembly, installation,
start-up, maintenance and service works of the charging station.
• Charging point - means an electric device with a power less than or equal to 22kW used for
charging electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles powered by electricity provided for in the PN-EN 61851
standard.
• Charging station –means a construction device or a free-standing building structure with at least
one charging point installed, with a capacity lower than or equal to 22kW, together with a parking
space.

Commissioning of the "Publicly Accessible" Charging Station
The Act on electromobility and alternative fuels of January 11, 2018 imposes an obligation to conduct
technical inspections of charging stations by UDT (Office of Technical Inspection).
This test is carried out:
• Before commissioning the charging station.
• Each time in the case of repair or modernization of the charging station.
This test is carried out at the request of the operator of a publicly available charging station.
Safety Instructions
General tips and notes
Assembly and disassembly, installation, commissioning, maintenance, repair and decommissioning
may only be carried out by persons who are appropriately qualified in this field, observe the
instructions supplied with the product and comply with all relevant directives, standards, laws and
other national, regional and industry regulations regarding electrical safety and health and safety.
When carrying out the assembly and installation of the charging station, the following must also be
observed:
• The conditions for connecting the charging station to the power grid in force in a given area
• Building regulations for parking spaces for electric vehicles
• Workplace instructions and instructions for use of equipment used during assembly, commissioning
and servicing.
These directives, standards and regulations take precedence over the information contained in this
documentation.
Use personal protective equipment suitable for the work, e.g. a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves and
shoes.
The scope of application of the station and the danger of expiration of the warranty
Charging vehicles using the GlowBox Platinum charging station is possible in public, semi-public and
private spaces.
The GlowBox Platinum charging station is intended only for charging electric and hybrid passenger
cars, i.e. cars with electric drive in accordance with the PN-EN 61851-1 and PN-EN 61851-22
standards and cannot be used for purposes other than those provided for in this standard.
The user is liable for any damage caused by the vehicle or arising in connection with the use of the
charging station in a manner not provided for in the PN-EN 61851 standard.
Unjustified opening of the station housing as well as modifications, removal of station equipment by
unauthorized persons will result in the expiry of the manufacturer's warranty, but above all, it can
lead to significant material losses, and, due to the possibility of electric shock, to serious bodily injury
and death.

Explosion and fire hazard
Do not store or use highly flammable liquids such as gasoline or ethanol near the charging station,
which produce flammable vapors that may cause an explosion hazard.
It is forbidden to use the charging station by vehicles transporting flammable, corrosive, explosive
materials and other similar materials and substances that may pose a threat to people and property.
Environmental conditions
The charging station has an IP55 degree of protection.
If the location of the charging station is such that as a result of heavy rainfall, flooding or flooding,
the station would be partially or completely flooded, it should be immediately taken out of service.
Only the Service Technician, after having inspected the condition of the station, may decide to put
the station back into operation.
Cleaning
Surface cleaning of the charging station can only be carried out if no vehicle is connected to any of
the charging points.
For surface cleaning of the charging station, use a damp cloth moistened with mild detergents. It is
forbidden to use strong cleaning agents and steam, as it may damage the printing of the housing.
It is forbidden to use a jet of water under pressure for cleaning, as this may cause water or moisture
to penetrate into the interior of the station.
Failure to do so may result in a risk of electric shock.
Safety During Operation
DANGER
When charging electric vehicles, the GlowBox Platinum charging station supplies the vehicle with
three-phase alternating voltage 3×400 V. Misuse of the station and touching damaged live parts may
cause electric shock and may lead to death.
Observe the following guidelines when operating the charging station:
• Before starting the charging process, the user should read the notes on the rules of safe use of the
charging station contained in this chapter.
• The user of the charging station is obliged to follow the vehicle's operating manual. It is also
necessary to comply with the workplace instructions and applicable standards and regulations.
• The GlowBox Platinum charging station is intended only for charging electric and hybrid passenger
cars, i.e. cars with electric drive in accordance with the PN-EN 61851-1 and PN-EN 61851-22
standards and cannot be used for purposes other than those provided for in this standard.
• The User is liable for any damage caused by the vehicle or arising in connection with the use of the
Charging Station in a manner not provided for in the PN-EN 61851-1 and PN-EN 61851-22 standards.
• It is forbidden to use the charging station by vehicles transporting flammable, corrosive, explosive
materials and other similar materials and substances that may pose a threat to people and property.

• Do not charge the vehicle during a thunderstorm accompanied by lightning strikes.
• Damaged charging cables must not be used. The use of damaged and inappropriate cables, as well
as performing activities that may lead to damage to the charging cables, may result in the risk of
electric shock to the user and bystanders.
•In the event of damage to the charging station or the cable intended for charging the electric
vehicle, stop the charging process and immediately notify the owner or operator of the station. It is
especially forbidden to attempt to repair the damage by unqualified personnel.
• It is forbidden to use extension cords, charging cable adapters and cables that are not approved for
the vehicle.
• Any interference with the technical infrastructure of the charging station is unacceptable.
• In the event of an emergency, and in particular a life-threatening situation, immediately disconnect
the power supply to the charging station, and then, if necessary, start providing first aid and starting
a rescue operation
Safety During the Maintenance and Servicing of the GlowBox Platinum Charging
Station
The scope of activities carried out during the maintenance and servicing of the GlowBox Platinum
charging station is presented in the MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE chapter.
DANGER
Maintenance and service works of the Glowbox Platinum charging station can be carried out by a
Service Technician with appropriate qualifications to work with the device under voltage. Touching
live parts will cause an electric shock and may result in death.
Observe the following during maintenance and service:
• Comply with current building regulations regarding parking spaces and charging stations for electric
vehicles.
• When performing work in public spaces, safety must be ensured in accordance with applicable
regulations.
• In the case of work near the right-of-way, comply with the regulations for carrying out construction
work near the right-of-way. In the case of partial occupation of the right-of-way, the consent of the
road administrator to occupy the right-of-way should be obtained, and the workplace should be
fenced and marked in accordance with the requirements.
• Wear appropriate footwear and protective clothing while working. A reflective vest may be
required.
• The working space should be fenced off, appropriate for the nature of the work, and the workplace
should be properly secured against unauthorized persons during maintenance or servicing of the
charging station.
• Do not carry out maintenance and service work during unfavourable weather conditions, during
rain, snow and storms.
