Safety Information
For safe operation of this clamp-multimeter,
read these instructions completely before
you use it and comply with them fully.
Failure to observe these warnings can
result in severe injury or death.
- If possible, do not work alone, so
assistance can be given if required.
- Do not use the clamp-multimeter or
test-leads if they are damaged.
- Do not use the clamp-multimeter if it is not
operating correctly, or if it is wet.
- Use the clamp-multimeter only as
specified in these Operating Instructions,
or the protection provided by it may be
impaired.
- Use extreme caution and wear Personal
Protective Equipment when taking
measurements where Hazardous Live
parts could be Accessible.
-Use caution when measuring or working
near voltages above 30 V ac rms, or
60 V dc. These voltages may cause a
shock.
-Do not allow fingers to protrude beyond
the Tactile Barrier when fitting or
removing the instrument from around a
Hazardous Live conductor, as this may
cause a shock.

Caution
If the clamp-multimeter is used in the vicinity
of equipment which generates electromag-
netic interference, the display may become
unstable or the measurements shown may
be subject to large errors.
TEST EQUIPMENT RISK ASSESSMENT
Users of this equipment and or their
employers are reminded that Health and
Safety Legislation require them to carry
out valid risk assessments of all
electrical work so as to identify potential
sources of electrical danger and risk of
electrical injury such as from inadvertent
short circuits. Where the assessments
show that the risk is significant then the
use of fused test leads constructed in
accordance with HSE guidance note
GS38 “ Electrical Test Equipment for use
by Electricians” should be used.
Maintenance
Do not attempt to repair the clamp-
multimeter. It contains no user-serviceable
parts.
Contact RS Components for repair,
servicing or calibration of this clamp-
multimeter. The address is given at the
end of these instructions.
Cleaning
To clean the clamp-multimeter, use a
damp cloth moistened with a weak
detergent solution. Do not use abrasives
or solvents.

Auto Power Off disable :
Press any button (except the Hold button),
or rotate the rotary switch to reset the
Auto Power-Off function and turn the
clamp-multimeter on.

Zero
oREL: Meter save the displayed offset
value after press the ZERO button first
time. The LCD is displaying the relative
value.
pREL (flashing): Meter saved the offset

qMAX MIN (flashing) :
The clamp-multimeter stores the
maximum and minimum values.
The present value is displayed.
nNormal: Press and hold the MIN MAX
button to return to normal operation.
Min / Max Hold
Battery Replacement
Warning : Disconnect the clamp-
multimeter from all power sources and
remove it from around a conductor before
removing the battery compartment cover.
Replace battery:
Replace the battery when the low battery
symbol “” appears on the display.

Peak Hold
oPMAX : The clamp-multimeter stores the
peak maximum and minimum values.
The peak maximum value is displayed.
pPMIN : The clamp-multimeter stores the
peak maximum and minimum values.
The peak minimum value is displayed.
qCAL:Press and hold the PEAK button
>3 sec to calibrate the clamp-multimeter
for accurate measurement.
nNormal: Press and hold the PEAK
button to return to normal operation.
Back Light
The back-light will automatically turn off
after approximately 60 seconds.

AC Conversions are ac-coupled, true rms
responding, calibrated to the rms value of
a sine-wave input. Accuracies are given for
sine-wave at full-scale and non-sine wave
below half-scale. For non sine-wave add
the following Crest Factor corrections:
For Crest Factor of 1.4 to 2.0, add 1.0% to
accuracy.
For Crest Factor of 2.0 to 2.5, add 2.5% to
accuracy.

Limited Warranty
This instrument is warranted to the original
purchaser against defects in material and
workmanship for 3 year from the date of
purchase. During this warranty period, RS
Components will, at its option, replace or
repair the defective unit, subject to verifica-
tion of the defect or malfunction. This
warranty does not cover fuses, disposable
batteries, or damage from abuse, neglect,
accident, unauthorized repair, alteration,
contamination or abnormal conditions of
operation or handling.
Any implied warranties arising from the sale
of this product, including but not limited to
implied warranties of merchantability and
fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to
the above. The manufacturer shall not be
liable for loss of use of the instrument or
other incidental or consequential damages,
expenses, or economic loss, or for any claim
or claims for such damage, expense or
economic loss.
