HOW DOES IT WORK?
HOW DOES IT WORK?
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Nature creates ozone (O3) as a natural air cleaner in a number of ways,
usually involving an ordinary oxygen (O2) molecule and some form of
electrical charge (like lightning or static electricity in the air). The
electrical current transforms an ordinary O2 molecule into an O3
molecule. If you’ve taken a walk after a thunderstorm and experienced
the fresh, clean smell in the air, you’ve experienced the after-eects of
ozone at work in the environment.
The Ivation® Ozone Air Purifier creates O3 via a special process that
utilizes an electrical current and the oxygen in the room. The ozone then
sanitizes the air in your room by breaking down odors, microorganisms,
and other pollutants at their source.
During the air sterilization process, no one can be present in the room,
because ozone is not safe for humans or animals to inhale. The ozone air
purifier includes a timer for your safety and convenience. Once the timer
runs out, the device will deactivate automatically. After about an hour,
the ozone reverts back to normal oxygen, and the room will be safe for
you to re-enter. Breathe deep, knowing the air in your room is fresh and
clean.

INSTRUCTIONS / OPERATION
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Remove back cover and set to the side. (There is only one screw that
needs to be loosened to take o back cover.)
2. Install the ceramic ozone plate in the ceramic ozone plate slot. Make sure
the ceramic ozone plate is firmly in place.
3. Place back cover on unit and tighten the screw.
4. Connect the power adapter into the machine then plug into an outlet.
5. Use the ON/OFF button to turn on device. A green light will come on
indicating your device is on.
6. Press the OZONE button to activate the ozone at level I. Press button
again to select a higher setting if necessary. A green light will show you
which ozone level is currently activated. (The ideal amount of O3 will
leave your room smelling clean and fresh. If the unit is set too high, you
will smell too much O3. If it is set too low, you will smell household
odors.)
7. Set timer if you plan to be away for a long time. Use the HOURS button
to have the purifier run for 1, 2, 4 or 6 hours. A green light will show you
which time you have selected. Once the timer runs out, the machine will
automatically turn o. You can set the timer and leave the machine alone
without worry. Once the machine is finished, wait an hour before entering
the room for the O3 to change back to O2. (If timer is not set, the air
purifier will stay in use until it is manually turned o.)
OPERATION
Optimal Location of Unit Placement: For optimal treatment of air cleansing
in your designated area, your new ozone generator should be placed in a
high central location. Your unit can be set on a tall piece of furniture. Allow
three (3) inches between the back of unit and the wall to allow proper
airflow.
NOTE: The reason for an elevated placement of the unit is that O3 is heavier
than air. Elevated placement allows for better circulation. It is also suggested
that the purifier be placed in the room that is closest to the primary source
of odor.
8
INSTRUCTIONS / OPERATION

Heavy Purification: If you desire to treat the entire house, set the fan switch
on your home’s heating & cooling system to the ON position rather than
AUTO. Open all interior doors and adjust the OZONE level to the appropriate
setting. Then, place the unit so the air from the purifier flows directly into an
air vent.
NOTE: Do not follow the instructions for heavy purification unless your home
will be empty of people and pets while the ozone generator is running.
Altitude: Generally, at high altitudes, the requirement for activated oxygen
(O3) decreases. Therefore, higher altitudes should require lower settings.
Humidity: Generally, in high humidity, the requirement for activated oxygen
(O3) increases. Therefore, high humidity may require higher settings. High
humidity may require additional cleaning.

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTONS
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. What does the Air Purifier do?
A. It cleans the air in your home or oce by breaking down odor-causing
pollutants that enter your breathing space.
Q. How does the Air Purifier clean the air?
A. The Air Purifier produces ozone and negative ions that eliminates the
bad odors and other toxins in your air space. These are the same
eective cleansing agents that nature uses to purify outdoor air.
Q. How does the Air Purifier work?
A. There are five functions at work while the purifier is operational:
1. The Air Purifier uses a needle-point ionizer to drop dust, smoke
and other harmful particles from the air we breathe.
2. The Air Purifier uses electricity to split O2 molecules, or oxygen,
into single O1 atoms which attach loosely to other O2 molecules
creating O3 or activated oxygen. These loosely attached O3
molecules are unstable and seek to bond with chemical
compounds and other odor-causing pollutants in order to oxidize
them.
3. UV lamps combined with photo-catalytic filter help to kill bacteria.
4. Carbon filter helps to absorb odors.
5. Pre-filter helps to filter larger particles from the air.
Q. How does nature produce ozone?
A. Ozone is created electrically during active thunderstorms. The electrical
discharge creates a fresh, sweet smell. The ultraviolet (UV) rays of the
sun striking hydrocarbons in our atmosphere also create ozone.
Q. How does nature produce ions?
A. Waterfalls, lightning, and the waves of the ocean all create negative
ions.
Q. What is an ozone alert?
A. Ozone alerts in cities occur when high pollution levels of hydrocarbons
appears which is produced by the burning of fossil fuels. When ultra
violet rays from the sun strike hydrocarbons, O3 is one of the by-
products. Ozone is easily detected and is sometimes used as a reference
point for the level of pollutants.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
11
Q. How does it compare to air filters?
A. Air Purifier does not rely on the air to actually pass through the
machine to be cleaned like air filters. It’s not a filter at all. Air Purifier
produces both activated oxygen, which reduces odors, and negative
ions, which eliminates particles.
Q. Is ozone safe?
A. Ozone in very high concentrations can be irritating to mucous
membranes and the respiratory system. We recommend you set the
OZONE button properly and leave the area to let the purifier to its job.
Before using the Air Purifier, you should read the enclosed instructions
carefully. DO NOT stay in room once you set up your purifier.
Q. Where should I place the Air Purifier in my home or office?
A. The Air Purifier should be placed in the room where you have the most
pollutants. The Air Purifier is easy to move so you might want to try it in
a couple of locations to help decide what works best for your
environment. An elevated location is better to distribute ions and
activated oxygen more evenly. The Air Purifier works best if it is placed
within four (4) feet of a cold air return.
Q. Is the ceramic ozone plate difficult to install?
A. No. To install the ceramic ozone plate (located in separate box
packaged inside the carton), first, loosen the back cover which has one
screw only. Next, take out filters and insert the ceramic ozone plate into
the ceramic ozone plate slot. Then, put the filters carefully back in
place. Finally, position the back cover in place and tighten the screw.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
When the purifier no longer produces enough ozone to be eective, the
ozone plate should be cleaned. A good rule of thumb is cleaning once a
month. Some environments cause ozone output to be reduced in a shorter
time but other environments may take longer.
To clean a ceramic ozone plate
• Turn o the unit and unplug it from outlet.
• Open back cover and take out filters one by one.
• Remove the 4" x 4" ceramic ozone plate from the ceramic ozone

the slot.
• Apply a 50/50 solution of warm water and ammonia or a strong
grease cutting detergent with plate placed firmly in the hand.
• Scrub with a sti brush if necessary. (Be careful not to drop the
plate or scrub o the silicon)
• Clean both the metal screen and the ceramic tile of the plate.
• Rinse plate in hot water and dry completely before reinstalling. (You
may use a hair dryer to dry the plate if available.)
• Reinstall the ceramic ozone plate, making sure it is secured then put
back the filters and tighten the back cover.
• Plug unit into a grounded electrical outlet, turn on the unit and start
enjoying clean, fresh air.
To clean needle-point ionizer
• Turn o the unit and unplug it from the outlet.
• Remove the front fan grill. The needle-point ionizer is located in
front of the fan near the two (2) pieces of wire.
• Take a Q-tip or cotton swab dipped in alcohol and clean any dust
that may have accumulated on the needle-points. This process may
be done when plates are being cleaned. (While you have the front
grill o the unit, you may also clean the fan and grill itself.)
To clean the fan
• Make sure the unit is o and unplugged.
• Wipe the blades with a damp cloth.
• Let dry before reinstalling fan grill.
To clean fan grill cover
