2. *2: When the cable length is 500 mm
or longer, fix it with metal belts along
the pole.
Do not apply tension to the cable
during installation of the equipment.
3. *3: Seal this section with a sealing
material made from silicon before
fixing the transponder.
4. The pole or mast must be
shock/vibration free.
5. The equipment must be installed
forward of the funnel to avoid smoke
and soot.
6. The equipment must be installed
where environmental temperature is
not higher than 55 deg. C.
7. *4: Seal the joint of N-type connector
with a sealing material made from
silicon in accordance with NTE-182
waterproofing procedures.
(If the joint ob N-type connector has
been sealed, it is not necessary to
seal.)

Caution: Do not tighten the belt with excessive torque.
Tighten the fixing belt with approx. 2.45Nm of torque, and
leave about 0.5mm of give in the belt when tested with
your fingers.
Fixing procedure
Note: Prepare the following parts:
1 washer W8
1 spring washer SW8
1 hexagon nut N8
(1) Stick Rubbers on theAIS Transponder.
(2) Attach with Protection sheet around the pole.
(3) Adjust the length of the ground sheet to fit the pole o

mast, bend it, and cut it off.
(4) Open the fitting belts with a flathead screwdriver.
(5) Wind the fitting belts around the pole or mast and the
AIS Transponder.
(6) Tighten the fixing belt with torque of approx. 2.45 Nm
with a screwdriver. (See figure below)

Connection Procedure of Coaxial Connector
1. Parts (N-P-10U)
2. Procedure
Working
step Shape Remarks
1
Cut the metal braid armor and insulation sheath
as shown left.
2
Ravel the braid conductor and cut the insulator as
shown left.
3
Gather up the metal braid armor and raveled braid
conductor, and insert the armor clamp, tightening
bracket, washer, gasket, and clamp, in order.
4
Fold the raveled braid as shown in the left figure, cut
them to the length of up to area A, and then stretch
them on the periphery of the clamp uniformly.
5
Dip-solder the conductor.
6
Pre-solder the inside of the center contact.
A

11
Working
step Shape Remarks
7
1. Insert the conductor while melting solder in the
center contact.
2. Be sure that no space is left between the
center contact and insulator.
3. Check the hole that solder flows between the
conductor and center contact. Be sure that
solder covers the conductor sufficiently and
does not protrude outside the center contact.
8
1. Insert the ring and the connector housing, and
then tighten the tightening bracket sufficiently.
2. Check the center contact is at the position
shown in the wiring completion diagram.
9
Measure the insulating resistance. The insulating
resistance is 10 MΩor more.
