1. INTRODUCTION
Thank you for choosing q-JAYS earphones.We strongly recommend that
you read this manual carefully before use. You can order accessories and
get information about service and support at our website: www.jays.se.
q-JAYS earphones are equipped with the JAYS True Sound Isolation
System which eliminates up to 90% of ambient noise.This helps
create a silent environment which enhances the listening experience.
Despite being the smallest earphones on the market, the q-JAYS fit two
micro armatures in each earphone – one tweeter that delivers precise
highs and one woofer that creates rich lows and mids. Furthermore an
AirBooster enhances the low frequencies and gives an even deeper
bass. After using the q-JAYS a few times you will notice a huge difference
between the q-JAYS and other earphones.
2. PRECAUTIONS
» Do not use the product in other ways than are described in this
manual.
» Handle with care at all times and protect from external damage.
» Do not expose to heat, magnetism or cold, damp environments.
» To clean: use a mild, antiseptic detergent.
» Do not expose the cords and plugs to abnormal wear and tear, e.g.
by bending or pulling them.
» Avoid winding the cord too tightly.
» Avoid dropping or strong impact.Always leave the sleeve on for
shock protection.
3. PROPER USE
The q-JAYS earphone model is suitable for many different areas of use. It
is particularly suited to environments where you are likely to be disturbed
by ambient noise, e.g. at airplanes, on trains, on the underground, at the
gym or when you are studying. In short, whenever you want nothing to
come between you and the full enjoyment of your music.
Inserting and removing the earphones
We recommend that you take the time to get accustomed to your q-JAYS
earphones to really experience the difference in sound quality and
comfort. For the best sound isolation, bass frequency response and
sound quality to be achieved, the earphones must be inserted correctly.
When you have used them for a while you will see how simple they are
to insert and remove.
» Turn the volume to minimum before insertion.
» For best results, moisten the sleeves before insertion.
» Holding the earphone at the rear, carefully insert the sleeve while
pulling up and out on the back of the ear. The earphone should

seal deeply and comfortably in the ear canal.
» If the bass frequency response seems too feeble or if external noise
has not been eliminated, try inserting the earphone deeper into the
ear canal to obtain a better seal or try a different size.
» After use, remove carefully - avoid pulling on the cord.
There are two ways to wear the earphones, as shown below:
1. Cord runs downwards from ear.
2. Cord runs upwards behind the ear and comes back out in front
of your head (A). You can also pull the cord around the back of
your head (B), in which case secure the cord in place using the
adjustment tube. This is an ideal way to wear your earphones at the
gym, for example. Cleaning
Clean your earphones regularly using an antiseptic cloth. Keep sleeves
and protective filters clean from wax and other dirt build-up. Wax and dirt
can adversely affect sound quality and can damage your earphones.
Furthermore, ensure that no moisture gets into the nozzle when cleaning
as this may damage the armature inside the earphones.

Changing the sleeves
The sleeves can be replaced by carefully sliding them off and on the
earphones. Check that the sleeves’ rubber notches (A) are securely
fastened in the locking groove.

Changing the protective filters
Your q-JAYS comes with 4 pairs of replacement protective filters. If the
filter in your earphone becomes soiled or damaged, pull it off carefully.
Ensure that there is no dirt on the edges of the sound pipe. Carefully
detach a new adhesive filter from the pack and fit in the same place as
the old filter. Make sure the filter fits securely into position.You can use
a paperclip or tweezers for this purpose.
4. FOR YOUR SAFETY
Hearing
These earphones are very powerful. Listening at high volumes for
prolonged periods can cause permanent hearing damage. Always listen
at low volumes and remember to rest your ears once in a while. If your
ears start ringing, turn the sound off immediately and rest your ears.
Traffic
Your q-JAYS effectively isolate external noise. This means you won’t hear
what’s going on around you, which can be very hazardous in traffic. Never
use your q-JAYS while driving a car, moped, bicycle or similar, or while
jogging or walking through trafficated areas. We would like to remind you
that listening to music in trafficated environments can lead to accidents.
Other
Please note that the product and accompanying parts are very small. You
should therefore store them safely out of children’s reach.

8. WARRANTY
JAYS extends a 2-year warranty. This limited warranty applies to buyers
of JAYS AB’s products. If any other party that resells the product after
it has left JAYS AB issues a different warranty from this one, the most
recently issued warranty shall apply. JAYS AB guarantees that the product
is free from faults in the materials, design and manufacture when it
was transferred to the buyer.The warranty is only valid if the following
requirements are satisfied:
1) This warranty only applies to buyers who are end-customers, and
who can show a receipt or certificate of warranty containing details
about the place of purchase, date and serial number. This warranty
does not infringe upon the provisions of binding legislation or the
buyer’s rights in relation to the seller of the product.
2) This limited warranty can, with respect to the main product, apply
24 months from when the customer receives the product. If the
buyer sells the product to another party, the purchaser can claim
warranty cover for the same period as the original buyer on the
condition that the terms of item 1 are fulfilled.
3) If there are faults in the design, materials or manufacture, JAYS AB
will undertake to redress the fault through repairs or a replacement.

7. SERVICE AND SUPPORT

Our contact details are printed on the back of this manual. If the product
needs to be replaced your retailer will arrange it unless you have been
informed otherwise. Your product has a 2-year warranty unless otherwise
specified. It covers production faults. Read more about our warranty
terms in item 8.

JAYS AB hereby undertakes to provide the buyer with a product that
is in full working order during the warranty period. Ownership rights
to components that are replaced during repairs belong to JAYS.
4) This warranty does not cover product deterioration caused by
normal wear and tear. Furthermore, the warranty does not apply if:
a) the fault is caused by the product being exposed to damp,
moisture, extreme temperatures or temperature changes, chemical
products, abnormal impact damage or force majeure that is not
directly caused by faults in the materials, design or manufacture.
b) the customer fails to notify JAYS AB within 30 days of the fault
being discovered (within the warranty period).
c) it is not possible to identify the product by checking the serial
number that should be identical to the product the warranty is
supposed to cover.
d) the product has been used in an incorrect manner or has
been connected to an accessory which JAYS AB has advised the
customer not to use with the product.
9. CERTIFICATIONS
The aim of EU’s Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
directives 2002/96/EC and the ROHS directive is to reduce waste from
electric and electronic products and to recycle as much of the materials
as possible. Any remaining waste should be virtually risk-free to handle
and the risk of hazardous emissions should be minimal.

FAQ
Can I use the earphones at the gym? Yes, of course. They are designed to give exceptional results when you are exercising. They fit
snugly in your ears, won’t fall out and they eliminate most of the noise in your surroundings.
Can I use q-JAYS with my MP3 player which has an
impedance of 16 ohms? q-JAYS are very easy to drive. An MP3 player with 16 ohms impedance will therefore power the
earphones without a problem.
I need an L-shaped plug for my MP3 player. Where
can I get one? JAYS’s L-shaped plugs are available from your retailer and can also be ordered from our
website: www.jays.se.
How long is the warranty on my earphones? q-JAYS come with a 2-year warranty unless otherwise arranged at the time of purchase.
Who do I contact if I have questions or problems? Contact your retailer or our Customer Service. Our contact details can be found at www.jays.se.
Where can I buy extra sleeves and protective filters for
my earphones? You can buy accessories at your retailer or at our website www.jays.se.
My earphones fit badly. What should I do? Try a different size. You can also try wearing them over your ear as shown in the instructions
in item 3.
What is the micro armature that q-JAYS use? A micro armature is a very compact and fine-tuned technology which produces a natural,
detailed sound. The technology is based on a Henry Egerton patent from 1918.

Isn’t it dangerous to block out external noise while
in traffic? With conventional earphones, the only way to drown out background noise is to turn up the
volume. But as q-JAYS eliminate virtually all noise, you can listen at lower volumes.
In both cases, you will hardly be able to hear the traffic. We thus recommend that you never
listen to music while you are in trafficated areas.
The volume levels in left and right earphones is
uneven. What is the problem? Check that the plug is correctly connected to your listening device. Check for a loose
connection by connecting to a different sound source. If the problem persists, check if there
is dirt on the filter or inside the sleeve, if so, remove it. Filters that are very dirty should be
changed (see instructions on item 4). If the problem still persists, please contact your retailer
or JAYS Customer Service.

1. INLEDNING
Tack för att du har valt ett par q-JAYS. Det är viktigt att du läser igenom
manualen noga innan du börjar använda hörlurarna. På hemsidan
www.jays.se kan du köpa tillbehör samt få information om service och
support.
q-JAYS har en storlek på 18,4 x 7,5 x 7,5 mm och använder JAYS
isoleringssystem som stänger ute upp till 90% av bakgrundsljudet. Det
innebär att du får en tyst miljö som ökar lyssningsupplevelsen. Trots
deras storlek innhåller vardera hörlur dubbel mikroarmatur och genererar
en fantastisk ljudkvalitet. Den dubbla mikroarmaturen utnyttjar din
portabla produkts kraft till fullo. Den ena armaturen levererar en diskant
med höga detaljerade toner och den andra hanterar fylliga låg- och
mellantoner. Dessutom förstärker AirBooster de låga frekvenserna och
ger en ännu djupare bas.
2. VARNINGAR
» Använd inte produkten på annat sätt än vad som beskrivs i denna
manual.
» Hantera alltid din produkt varsamt och skydda den mot yttre
åverkan.
» Utsätt inte produkten för hetta, magnetism, kyla eller fuktiga miljöer.
» Använd endast milt antiseptisk medel vid rengöring av produkten.
» Utsätt inte kablar och kontakter för onödigt slitage genom att
medvetet böja och dra i dem.
» Undvik att linda kabeln för hårt.
» Undvik att tappa produkten. Låt alltid sleevsen sitta på som skydd.
3. ANVÄNDNING
q-JAYS är en hörlursmodell som passar till många användningsområden.
Speciellt lämpade är de i miljöer där man lätt blir störd av omgivande
ljud, som till exempel på flyget, tåget och tunnelbanan eller vid träning
och studier. Tillfällen då du inte vill att någonting ska komma mellan dig
och din musik.
Sätta in och ta ur lurarna
Det är viktigt att ta du tar dig tid att vänja dig vid dina q-JAYS för att
uppleva skillnaden i ljudkvalitet och komfort. Först när de är placerade
korrekt i örat uppnår du maximal ljudisolering, bas och ljudkvalitet. När
du använt dem ett tag kommer du märka hur enkelt det är att sätta i
och ta ur dem.
» Ställ ner volymen till lägsta position innan du sätter in hörlurarna i
öronen
» Fukta sleevsen en aning för enklare isättning

» Dra örat utåt och uppåt, håll i bakre delen av luren vid kabeln och
för in sleeven djupt framåt/inåt i öronkanalen
» Om du upplever för avsaknad av bas eller att ljud utifrån inte stängs
ute ordentligt, justera hörlurarna för att skapa en bra förslutning
eller prova en annan storlek av sleeves
» Efter användning dras hörlurarna försiktigt ut – undvik att dra i
sladden
Nedan visas två sätt hörlurarna kan bäras på
1. Kabeln riktas ner från örat.
2. Kabeln riktas uppåt, och läggs bakom örat för att sedan komma
fram framför huvudet (A). Det går även att dra kabeln bakom
huvudet (B), spänn i så fall kablarna mot huvudet med glidringen.
Detta sätt lämpar sig särskilt vid exempelvis träning.
Rengöra
Rengör dina hörlurar regelbundet med en antiseptisk trasa. Se till så att
inget vax eller annan smuts finns på sleevesen eller på skyddsfiltrena.
Vax och smuts försämrar ljudkvaliteten och kan skada dina hörlurar. Se
även till att ingen vätska tar sig in i ljudröret vid rengöring, detta kan
skada armaturen inuti hörlurarna.

Byta sleeves
Dra försiktigt bort den gamla sleeven från hörluren. Tryck sedan den
nya sleeven på plats. Känn efter så gummihakarna (A) i sleeven fastnat
ordentligt i låsspåret på hörluren.

Byta skyddsfilter
Dina q-JAYS levereras med 4 par skyddsfilter. Om ett filter på dina
hörlurar blir för smutsigt eller skadat – avlägsna det försiktigt. Se till att
inget smuts finns på fästkanterna på ljudröret. Ta varsamt loss ett nytt
självhäftande filter från kartan och placera den där det gamla filtret satt.
Se till så att filtret kommit ordentligt på plats.Använd exempelvis ett
gem eller pincett för att göra detta.
4. SÄKERHET
Hörsel
Dessa hörlurar är mycket kraftfulla. Lyssning på höga volymer under
längre perioder kan orsaka permanenta hörselskador. Lyssna alltid på låg
volym och glöm inte att vila öronen emellanåt. Upplever du ringningar i
öronen – stäng omedelbart av ljudet och vila öronen.
Trafik
Dina q-JAYS isolerar effektivt ljud utifrån. Detta betyder att du inte
kommer höra ljud från din omgivning, något som kan vara mycket farligt
i trafiken.Använd aldrig dina q-JAYS när du kör bil, moped, cykel eller
likande och inte heller när du joggar eller går i trafikerade områden. Du
bör vara mycket observant på att lyssning i trafikerade miljöer kan leda
till olyckor.
Övrigt
Observera att produkten och tillhörande delar är mycket små. Förvara
dem därför på ett säkert ställe utan åtkomst för barn.

8. GARANTI
JAYS levererar 2 års garanti. Denna begränsade garanti gäller för köpare
av JAYS AB:s produkter. Om någon, som sålt produkten vidare efter
det att produkten lämnat JAYS AB:s ägo, utfärdat någon annan garanti
än denna garanti skall den senast utfärdade garantin gälla. JAYS AB
garanterar att produkten, vid tidpunkten för avlämningen av produkten till
köparen, är fri från fel i material, design och tillverkning. Garantin gäller
enbart om nedan angivna villkor är uppfyllda:
1) Denna garanti kan endast göras gällande av köpare som
är slutkund, och som kan uppvisa kvitto eller garantibevis
innehållande uppgifter om inköpsställe, datum och serienummer.
Denna garanti begränsar inte vad som stadgas i tvingande
lagstiftning eller den rätt som köparen har gentemot den som sålt
produkten.
2) Denna begränsade garanti kan, vad gäller den huvudsakliga
produkten, göras gällande inom 24 månader från och med
avlämningen av produkten till kunden. Om köparen överlåter
produkten till annan kan förvärvaren göra garantianspråk gällande
under samma tidsperiod som den ursprunglige köparen under
förutsättning att villkoren i punkt 1 är uppfyllda.

7. SERVICE OCH SUPPORT

återförsäljare detta, om inget annat instruerats. Din produkt har 2 års
garanti, om inget annat angetts, och täcker fel som uppstår på grund av
produktionsfel. Mer om våra garantivillkor finner du under punkt 8.

3) Om fel i design, material eller tillverkning skulle uppstå åtar sig JAYS
AB att efter eget val avhjälpa felet som uppstått genom reparation
eller omleverans. Härmed åtar sig JAYS AB att förse köparen med
en fungerande produkt under garantitidens gång. Utbytta delar vid
reparation tillkommer JAYS med äganderätt.
4) Denna garanti gäller inte försämring av produkten som får anses
bero på normalt slitage. Garantin gäller inte heller om;
a) felet beror på att produkten utsatts för fukt, vätska, extrema
temperaturer eller temperaturväxlingar, kemiska produkter,
onormalt yttre våld eller force majeure som inte direkt orsakats av
materialfel, designfel eller tillverkningsfel
b) kunden inte underrättat JAYS AB inom 30 dagar efter det att
felet upptäckts och inom garantiperioden.
c) produkten ej går att identifiera genom kontroll av serienummer
såsom identisk med den produkt som garantin görs gällande för.
d) produkten har använts på ett sätt som strider mot vad
produkten är avsedd att användas för eller har anslutits till
ett tillbehör som JAYS AB avrått från att använda produkten
tillsammans med.
9. CERTIFIERINGAR
Målet med EU:s Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
direktiv 2002/96/EC tillsammans med RoHS-direktivet är att minska
avfallet från elektriska och elektroniska produkter och att återvinna så
mycket material som möjligt. Överblivet avfall skall vara så riskfritt som
möjligt att hantera och risken för farliga utsläpp skall vara minimerad.
