How to replace a mechanical seal (B2i version)
Important! The pump must be disconnected electrically to make sure that the motor
does not start unintentionally.
a) Loosen cap nuts 1.
b) Remove spacer bolt 2from spiral casing 3and casing flange 4.
c) Pull away casing flange 4and spiral casing 3towards the front.
d) Unscrew impeller cap 5. Caution!!! Left-hand thread.
e) Remove safety pin 6.
f) Unscrew crown nut 7(left-hand thread) and remove washer 8.
g) Push impeller 9smoothly towards the front using two assembly levers.
h) Remove mechanical seal 10 now visible with two srew drivers towards the front.
i) Push back-plate 11 with counter-ring flange 12 out of spacer 13 using two
assembly levers.
j) Loosen screws 14 at counter-ring flange 12.
k) Push counter-ring of mechanical seal 10 from rear out of counter-ring flange 12.
For reassembly proceed in reverse order.
During disassembly please check the following:
- Has shaft protection sleeve 15 been damaged?
- Has the seat of counter-ring flange 12 been damaged?
- Have other components been damaged or are they worn out?
All o-rings should be replaced when assembling a dismounted pump.
