Viewing the Status of Generic
Inputs and Outputs
Introduction
This section covers the steps needed to view the status of generic
inputs and outputs.
Generic inputs are be used to provide additional information to control
a generic output, or to use for logging or usage tracking.
Generic outputs are used to control items that are not included in the
refrigeration and HVAC control schemes such as lighting, exhaust
fans, etc. Two types of generic output are available: ON/OFF relay
outputs or analog outputs (4-20 mA or 0-10 VDC output).

Generic Inputs
Generic inputs are used to collect information about the controlled
system above and beyond the information collected for HVAC and
Refrigeration control. Typical examples of generic inputs include:
additional temperature sensors, light level sensors, water or electrical
usage sensors, door switches, etc.

The Input Status screen is identified by the title in the first line of the
ACT2 controller screen. Sensors are identified by the name given them
during setup. The value in the right hand column is the current sensor
reading for the sensor to the left - units are determined by the type of
sensor used.
Generic Outputs
Generic outputs are used to control equipment above and beyond what
can be controlled with the HVAC and Refrigeration control schemes.
Typical examples of items controlled by generic outputs include:
parking lot lighting, outdoor sprinkler systems, exhaust fans over
cooktops, anti-sweat heaters on freezer doors, etc.

The Output Status screen is identified by the output number and title in
the first line of the display. The status screen shows the current relay
status of that output, which may be one of the following:
•On: The output is active/used.
•Off: The output is inactive/not used.
•Open: The relay contact for this output is open.
•Closed: The relay contact for this output is closed.
•-On-: The output is overridden and will remain On until either the
override is cancelled or, if the output is set to On Timed, the
override time delay elapses.
•-Off-: The output is overridden and will remain Off until either the
override is cancelled or, if the output is set to Off Timed, the
override time delay elapses.
Associated schedules and sensors are also shown for the output
displayed.

The Analog Output Status screen is identified by the title in the first
line of the display. The status screen shows the percent of total output
and the associated sensor reading.

Viewing Input Logs
Introduction
This section covers the steps needed to view logged data for generic
inputs. Input logs are used to create an historical view of the input
values over a period of time.

Parameter logs are used to create an historical view of the parameter
values over a period of time. The ACT2 controller can log each
generic input 500 times. When 500 logs have been stored, the oldest
log will be dropped as the next new log is recorded.

Viewing Usage Information
Introduction
This section covers the steps needed to view usage data for daily and
monthly water or electrical usage (or usage for any other value that
may be read with a pulse meter). Data is acquired from a usage input
sent by a utility or from a usage monitor (pulse meter).

Usage Parameters
Up to five usage parameters can be used to track water or electricity
usage, or usage of any other item that can be monitored with a pulse
meter. Total and peak usage is available daily and monthly. In
addition, these totals can be manually reset.

The Monthly Usage screen shows the total usage for that month, the
peak usage for the month, and the date and time at which the peak
usage occurred.
