Cleaning the One Touch Cappuccino-Frother
In addition to using the cappuccino cleaning system, you should
also remove the One Touch Cappuccino-Frother regularly and rinse
it under running water.
Remove the One Touch Cappuccino-Frother from the
IMPRESSA X5
Dismantle frother
Rinse all parts of the frother under running water
Reassemble the frother and reattach to machine

Getting started

Using the machine for the first time Inserting the filter (when using machine for first time)
Switch on mains switch
Press operating button
Fill water tank
Fill bean container
Turn Rotary Switch until desired language appears
Press Rotary Switch to confirm selection
Turn Rotary Switch to set time in hours
Press Rotary Switch to confirm hours
Turn Rotary Switch to set time in minutes
Press Rotary Switch to confirm minutes
Maintenance key lights up
Place one container each under the hot water dispenser and
One Touch Cappuccino-Frother
Press maintenance key
System fills automatically
Place container under coffee dispenser
Press maintenance key
The pipes are rinsed with fresh water
The machine is now ready for use.
After being used for the first time, the machine must be left
switched on for at least 24 hours.
Press Rotary Switch until FILTER NO appears
Press Rotary Switch again to enter this point of the program
Turn Rotary Switch until FILTER YES appears on the display
Press Rotary Switch to confirm setting
Remove water tank and empty
Open cartridge holder
Fix extension piece in position on top of CLARIS plus
filter cartridge
Use gentle pressure to insert filter cartridge in water tank
Close cartridge holder (it clicks audibly into place)
Fill water tank
Position container (at least ½ litre) under One Touch
Cappuccino-Frother
Press maintenance key
Filter rinse stops automatically
The machine is ready for use

Display text: TRAY / GROUNDS EMPTY
Empty drip tray and coffee grounds container and reinsert
Display text: SOLVENT IN TANK - PRESS BUTTON
Remove water tank and empty
Completely dissolve contents of one blister (3 tablets) in 600 ml
of water.
Pour solution into water tank
Reinsert water tank
Remove the One Touch Cappuccino-Frother
Place one container each under the coffee dispenser and
the connector of the One Touch Cappuccino-Frother
Press maintenance key
An acoustic signal is heard
Display text: TRAY / GROUNDS EMPTY
Empty drip tray and coffee grounds container and reinsert
Display text: WATER TANK / FILL
Rinse water tank thoroughly, fill will fresh, cold tap water and
reinsert
Replace the One Touch Cappuccino-Frother
Place one container each under the height-adjustable
hot water dispenser and the One Touch Cappuccino-Frother
Press maintenance key
When the system is heated through, a rinse cycle is
automatically activated and an acoustic signal is heard

Empty drip tray and grounds container and reinsert in machine
The machine is ready for use
Cleaning (approx. 15 minutes) Descaling (approx. 50 minutes)

Place one container (approx. ½ litre) each under the
height-adjustable coffee dispenser and the One Touch

Open cover to filler funnel for pre-ground coffee powder
Drop in JURA cleaning tablet and close cover

Empty drip tray and grounds container and reinsert in machine
The machine is ready for use

If you make cappuccino or heat milk, you should clean the
cappuccino system daily.
Press Rotary Switch until FILTER NO or FILTER YES
appears
Turn Rotary Switch until RINSE appears
Press Rotary Switch to start the maintenance menu
Turn Rotary Switch until CAPPUCCINO CLEANING
appears on the display
Position container (at least ½ litre) under the One Touch
Cappuccino-Frother and press Rotary Switch
Fill second container with ¼ litre of water
Add one cupful of cappuccino cleaner
Dip milk suction tube in second container
The selection lever must not be in the «Steam» position!
Press maintenance key to activate cleaning cycle

Fill second container with fresh water
Dip milk suction tube into this container
Press maintenance key
The Cappuccino cleaning system stops automatically
Changing the filter Cleaning the cappuccino system
After 50 litres of water or every two months, the filter is no longer
effective. A reminder to change the filter appears on the display.
