IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Before using the machine read these instructions
for use thoroughly and completely and comply
with the instructions they contain. A warranty ser-
vice is not applicable for damage or defects caused
by non-compliance with the instructions for use.
To avoid damage and any associated risk of injury
or fire, please carefully read and observe the
important safety information set out below when
using an electric machine:
UAfter unpacking, check the machine for
damage. If you are in any doubt, do not use
the machine and contact customer support in
your country.
UDispose of packaging material (e.g. plastic
bags) out of the reach of children, as they pose
the risk of suffocation.
UIf the mains cable of this machine is damaged,
it must be repaired either directly by JURA or
by an authorised JURA service centre.
UBe careful to ensure that the mains cable is not
trapped and does not rub against sharp edges.
Never allow the mains cable to loosely hang
down. The mains cable could pose a tripping
hazard or become damaged.
UMake sure that the milk frother and the mains
cable are not located close to hot surfaces.
UNever open and repair the machine yourself.
Do not modify the machine in any way that is
not described in the instructions for use. The
machine contains live parts. Repairs may only
be carried out by authorised JURA service
centres, using original spare parts and
accessories.
UOnly connect the machine to the mains
voltage in accordance with the information on
the rating plate. The rating plate is located on
the underside of your milk frother. Further
technical data is given in these instructions for
use (see Chapter 5 'Technical Data').
UOnly use the milk frother out of the reach of
children because the milk may get very hot.
UDo not use damaged milk containers.
UDuring operation, only hold the milk container
by the heat-resistant handle.
UDo not touch the hot surface of the heating
plate.
UDo not place the milk container in a micro-
wave.
UOnly place the milk container supplied on the
heating plate.
USwitch off the milk frother before cleaning and
disconnect the mains plug. Allow the machine
to cool down before cleaning.
UDo not put the milk frother or any individual
parts in the dishwasher.
UEnsure that the heating plate and base of the
milk container are clean at all times during
use.
UDisconnect the mains plug from the power
socket if you are going to be absent for long
periods.
UOnly operate the machine when supervised.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
Pass them on to any subsequent user.
Proper use
The machine is designed and intended for private
domestic use. It is used to froth and/or heat milk
in the supplied milk container. Use for any other
purpose will be deemed improper. JURA cannot
accept any responsibility for the consequences of
improper use.

Three disks are supplied with the machine: one frothing disk is stored in the milk container and one
frothing disk and one heating disk are stored on the bottom of the machine.

1 Setting up and connecting
When setting up your milk frother, please note the
following:
UPlace the milk frother on a horizontal, stable
surface that is not sensitive to water.
UChoose a spot for your milk frother which is
protected against overheating.
UIn the interests of hygiene, you should use a
damp cloth to clean the machine base and
milk container before starting the milk frother
for the first time. Dry everything thoroughly.
J WARNING
If the machine is operated with a defective mains
cable, there is a danger of potentially fatal electric
shock.
TNever use a machine which is damaged or
has a defective mains cable.
TInsert the mains plug into a power socket.
2 Operation
You can use your milk frother to heat and froth
milk ( and ) or prepare cold milk froth ( ).
EAlways add sufficient milk to the milk
container – at least up to the MIN mark.
EDo not add too much milk to the milk
container – don't fill beyond the MAX mark
for milk froth or the MAX mark for hot
milk.
Milk froth
Example: Proceed as follows to prepare milk froth.
TInsert the frothing disk in the milk container.
It will click into place audibly.
TAdd cold milk up to at least the MIN mark
but not beyond the MAX mark .
TPlace the cover on the milk container.
TPlace the milk container on the machine
base.
TInsert the mains plug into a power socket.
TPress the operating key until the symbol for
the desired temperature level lights up.
The symbol selected flashes three times by
way of confirmation. The machine then
starts automatically.
TWait until the machine stops and the symbol
goes out again.
EYou can interrupt the process at any time.
simply press the operating key or lift the
milk container off the machine base.
TLift the milk container off and pour out the
milk froth. CAUTION! Danger of scalding!
Only hold the milk container by its handle.
Do not touch the heating plate.
TPlace the milk container on a heat-resistant
surface or back on the machine base.
TRemove the mains plug and leave the
machine to cool down.
TAlways clean the machine after use.
Hot milk
Example: Proceed as follows to prepare hot milk.
TRemove the heating disk from the bottom of
the machine.
TInsert the heating disk in the milk container.
It will click into place audibly.
TAdd cold milk up to at least the MIN mark
but not beyond the MAX mark .
TPlace the cover on the milk container.
TPlace the milk container on the machine
base.
TInsert the mains plug into a power socket.
TPress the operating key until the or
symbol lights up.
The symbol flashes three times. The
machine then starts automatically.
TWait until the machine stops and the symbol
goes out again.

surface or back on the machine base.
TDisconnect the mains plug and leave the
machine to cool down.
TAlways clean the machine after use.
Hot chocolate
Example: Proceed as follows to prepare a hot
chocolate.
TRemove the heating disk from the bottom of
the machine.
TInsert the heating disk in the milk container.
It will click into place audibly.
TAdd cold milk up to at least the MIN mark
but not beyond the MAX mark .
TPlace the cover on the milk container.
TPlace the milk container on the machine
base.
TInsert the mains plug into a power socket.
TPress the operating key until the or
symbol lights up.
The symbol flashes three times. The
machine then starts automatically.
TWait around 60 seconds.
TLift off the cover and slowly poor cocoa
powder or finely grated chocolate into the
milk.
TWait until the machine stops and the symbol
goes out again.
EYou can interrupt the process at any time.
simply press the operating key or lift the
milk container off the machine base.
TLift the milk container off and pour out the
hot chocolate. CAUTION! Danger of scalding!
Only hold the milk container by its handle.
Do not touch the heating plate.
TPlace the milk container on a heat-resistant
surface or back on the machine base.
TDisconnect the mains plug and leave the
machine to cool down.
TAlways clean the machine after use.
3 Cleaning
J WARNING
Danger of potentially fatal electric shock.
TDisconnect the mains plug from the power
socket before cleaning.
JCAUTION
Danger of scalding from hot machine parts.
TAllow the machine to cool down before
cleaning.
EDo not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents
or hard objects to clean the machine. This
may damage the machine, the coating of
the milk container and the milk container.
TClean the machine base with a damp cloth
and dry off.
TRinse the milk container, cover and
attachment thoroughly under running water
and dry off all parts.
4 Transport and environmentally
friendly disposal
Transport
Keep the packaging for your milk frother. It should
be used to protect the machine during transport.
Clean the milk container before transporting it.
Disposal
Please dispose of old machines in an environmen-
tally friendly way.

Old machines contain valuable, recyclable
materials which should be recycled. Please
therefore dispose of old machines via suitable
collection systems.
