Key Layouts
Operation A KTD-304 series keypad can address and control 512 P/T/Z receiver sites, operate a atrix
switcher with 64 onitor outputs, address and select views fro 64 ultiplexers, and provide
anage ent of access control points.
Figures 44 and 45 display key layouts for the KTD-304 and KTD-304R respectively.
Description and operation of each key is presented on the following pages.
The preset and annunciation options referred to in this chapter will function only if activated
during KTD-304 setup.

and ultiplexer selection in ultiplexer operation. Also used for preset position
selection when applicable.

Refreshes alphanu eric display on the selected onitor. Also used to clear

The volu e level at each audio site is stored in the e ory of the 304RA and 304As
e ory; when the site is called at a later date, it will not need to be adjusted again.

NOTE:
Multiplexer Function Keys
Toggles the keypad between DIGIPLEX and ultiplexer view control odes.
Selects auto atic switching of videos in lower right window of current view; also
used in setup of otion detection areas.
Used to select an active ultiplexer.
Toggles between a full screen view and a 2x view of the selected video, if available
on the specific ultiplexer.
Used to view the live video inputs in any of the display odes; also used during
setup of otion detection areas
Selects VCR output for onitoring during taping or VCR input for viewing during
playback. Also used in setup of otion detection areas.
Used by so e ultiplexer types to restore full view.

Engaging uto Focus on CyberDomes
To engage auto focus on CyberDo es, press . Use

Keypad Operation When power is first supplied to a KTD-304 series keypad, the LCD display will briefly display
the Kalatel na e and then appear as shown below:
Fro this display and by observing the syste s onitors, the operator uses the function
keys for control.
The preset option referred to in this chapter will function only if activated during KTD-304
setup.
NOTE:
To activate a ca eras preset tours or ShadowTour, select the desired ca era and press
set

, and the tour nu ber (1-4). On older odels of the CyberDo e, only one preset
tour could be progra ed. Entering any tour nu ber will activate the preset tour.
To deactivate the tour, nudge the joystick.

To set the electronic auto pan li its on Kalatel do e receivers, first position the do e at the
li it. While holding down the

In a DIGIPLEX syste , alar ed sites can be progra ed to re ain on the onitor screen
indefinitely, and ust be cleared by the operator. To clear the alar , press

Camera Sequencing
To place a onitor in the sequence ode:
Select the onitor, and press

. The following display will appear in the keypads

Each ti e

is pressed, it either places the onitor in, or re oves it fro , the alar ode.
When a onitor is in the alar ode, an A appears on the onitor screen. In this ode,
the onitor will auto atically call up alar ed sites.
NOTE:
A onitor will only respond to alar s if it is in the alar ode. A anual video call up will
take a onitor out of the alar ode.

The key toggles the KTD-304 between the nor al operation ode and ultiplexer
operation ode.
When the KTD-304 keypad is progra ed for site annunciation, it will stack as any as 32
call-in requests in the order in which they were received. The nu bers of the first three sites
appear in the keypads display window.

1) To call up the first site, press

. The site will be re oved fro the queue,
and waiting requests will ove up in order.
2) To call up any site in the queue, use

to enter the site
nu ber. The site will be re oved fro the queue, and later requests will
ove up in order.

If an annunciation call is received, a tone will sound every 15 seconds until cleared by the
operator. In ultiplexer ode, a tone will sound every 5 seconds.
Two-Way udio
To establish two-way audio co unication with a site, use

to enter the site
nu ber. Use the volu e keys to adjust the audio level. Press
talk
to speak to the site.

Ju pers
When used with a KTD-336, set the attenuation ju pers on the Audio Card to the On
position. Standard setup (syste hard-wired) should aintain the attenuation ju per in the
Off position. See figure 51 for location of the attenuation ju pers.

view will be displayed by the ultiplexer.

Switching a Multiplexer to Live Video
Press the key to place the active ultiplexer in the live video ode.

For ultiplexers equipped with zoo capability, the key will switch the ultiplexer to
this ode. While viewing in this ode, the joystick is used to ove the zoo area within the
i age. (Electronic Zoo ay vary according to the odel of ultiplexer.)

Press the key to view the output for the VCR during recording or playback fro the
VCR during review of the VCR tapes.

Press the key to place the active ultiplexer in the video sequence ode.

to control.
