14. Oversized foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not e
inserted in a toaster as they may involve a risk of fire or electric
shock.
15. A fire may occur if toasters are covered or touching flamma le
material, including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, when in
operation.
16. Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in.
17. IMPORTANT: If the read carriage handle gets locked during use
(e.g. ecause the read slices are too thick) and the read starts
urning, unplug the appliance immediately and let it cool down
efore emptying and cleaning it. Should the pro lem persist,
contact a qualified electrician.
18. Do not use the appliance for defrosting food other than read
and only insert un uttered slices of read of which the thickness
does not risk to prevent the read from coming up. Be extremely
strict a out this as toasters are the cause of many fires when
these elementary safety precautions are not o served.
19. The appliance shall not e operated using a separate timer or
separate remote device.

POLARIZED PLUG INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance is equipped with a polarized plug (one lade is wider
than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit
into the polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not properly
fit into the outlet at first, reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact a
qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.

• The electrical rating of the extension cord should e at least
that of the appliance. If the electrical rating of the extension
cord is too low, it could overheat and urn.
• The resulting extended cord should e arranged so that it will
not drape over the counter top or ta letop where it can e
pulled on y children or tripped over.

BEFORE USING THE TOASTER FOR THE FIRST TIME
Note: the bread carriage handle will not stay down if the appliance is
not plugged in!
In order to eliminate any manufacturing residues, operate the toaster
a couple of times without read with the rowning control selector
on a medium rowning level. Some smoke might escape, which is
perfectly normal.

OPERATION
• Before using your appliance for the first time, check if it is clean
(see “Maintenance and cleaning”) as it comes into direct
contact with read. Check if any o ject has fallen into the slots.
• Plug the appliance into a wall outlet.
• Place the read slices in the slot (for the French read, cut a loaf
shorter than the slot, then cut it in two pieces along its length.).
Your appliance is provided to receive French read, ut also
pieces of toast or other read slices if their thickness and their
length are shorter than the one of the slot. The maximum
thickness allowed for read is 38mm / 1 ½”.
• Press down the read carriage handle until it stops (at the same
time, the grid inside the slots will tighten around the read in
order to keep it away from the quartz heating elements). Then
release the pressure and the handle will stay in the lower position,
which means that the heating process has egun. If the handle
comes up immediately, check if the appliance is plugged in, as
the read carriage cannot e locked if the toaster is not
plugged-in.
• You can adjust the rowning intensity to o tain a more/less
toasted read, y positioning the rowning control dial to one of
the degrees marked from 1 to 7. Therefore you only have to turn
clockwise to increase the rowning intensity, and anticlockwise
to decrease it. The higher the num er is, the more toasted the
read will e.
• During operation, if you think that the read is toasted enough or
for any another reason, you can stop the heating process, simply
y pressing the Cancel utton.
• The reheat utton allows you to reheat already toasted read or
to toast read which is not toasted enough, during a short time,
without modifying the rowning degree that you are used to.
• The defrost utton allows you to toast read that has een frozen
eforehand. It offers a longer heating time.
• If you want to reheat agels, push the "BAGEL" utton. Only one
side in the toaster will then e heating.
• Always unplug the appliance after use and let it cool down
efore handling or storing it.
• Excess lengths of power cord can e stored under the ase.
When you store your appliance, wind the cord around the hooks.



USEFUL ADVICE ON TOASTING
• If the toasted read pieces are too small to e picked up easily
from the toaster, simply raise the read carriage handle to its
uppermost position (High-lift function), to lift the carriage and pick
up the toasted read. If still not accessi le, please use thin heat-
resistant tongs to pick up the read in the slot.
• Do NOT touch the metal parts as they will e hot!
• For pop tarts or frozen waffles, please follow the instruction on the
ox.
• Do NOT toast food, other than read, that is not specifically said
to e toasted in a slot toaster.
• If the toaster jams, the read might simply e too thick. Remove
the read from the toaster and slice it thinner.
• The second or third toast might toast too dark. This is normal. In
case of repeated, successive toasting, it might e useful to adjust
the rowning level so that the second toasts’ rowning is
consistent with the first.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
• Before attempting any cleaning operation, make sure the toaster
is unplugged from the supply socket and fully cooled down.
• To remove read crum s, slide the crum tray (9) situated on the
ottom of the appliance, out from the side for removal (Fig. 2)
• Caution! It is very important to empty the crumb tray regularly.
Crumbs that have accumulated in the toaster might burn and
may become a fire hazard.
• To clean the exterior surface/housing, simply wipe over with a
soft, damp cloth. Do not use a rasive cleaners or material
(scouring pads) as they may damage the finish of your
appliance.
• To clean the interior glass panel, make sure the crum tray is
empty, turn the toaster upside down or on the side and press on
the clamp situated underneath the ase, on the handle of the
interior glass panel. Cautiously slide the interior glass panel out of
the toaster for cleaning. The interior glass panel can e washed in
warm soapy water. Rinse and dry cautiously, then put the glass
panel ack in place and slide it into its grooves until the clamp
can maintain the glass panel securely in place (Fig. 3).



This KALORIK product is warranted in the U.S.A. for 1 year from the
date of purchase against defects in material and workmanship. This
warranty is not transfera le. Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of
purchase is required to o tain warranty performance.
During this period, if the KALORIK product, upon inspection y
KALORIK, is proven defective, it will e repaired or replaced, at
Kalorik’s option, without charge to the customer. If a replacement
product is sent, it will carry the remaining warranty of the original
product.
This warranty does not apply to any defect arising from a uyer's or
user's misuse of the product, negligence, failure to follow KALORIK
instructions noted in the user’s manual, use on current or voltage
other than that stamped on the product, wear and tear, alteration
or repair not authorized y KALORIK, or use for commercial purposes.
There is no warranty for glass parts, glass containers, filter asket,
lades and agitators, and accessories in general. There is also no
warranty for parts lost y the user.
ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS WITH RESPECT TO

ANTES DE SU PRIMERA UTILIZACION
ATENCIÓN: la palanca de sujeción no quedará abajo sí el aparato
no está enchufado!
Para eliminar todo residuo procedente de la producción, antes de
utilizar por primera vez su tostador, hágalo funcionar por lo menos
dos veces al vacío (sin pan), colocando su termostato a un nivel de
potencia media. Puede producirse un ligero humo.
UTILIZACION
• Antes de usar el aparato por primera vez, asegúrese que esté
limpio (vea “limpieza”) porque tiene contacto directo con el
pan. Comprue e que ningún o jeto este dentro de las ranuras
del tostador.
• Antes que nada, conecte el aparato a la corriente eléctrica.
• Coloque el pan en la ranura. El aparato está provisto para reci ir
pan francés, pero tam ién tostadas u otros panes si su grosor y
longitud es más corto que la de la ranura del pan. El espesor
máximo de las lonchas de pan es de 38mm / 1 ½”.
• Presione la manecilla hacia a ajo, hasta la posición de cierre. Si
el asa su e inmediatamente comprue e si el aparato esta
enchufado y que no haya nada que lo loquee.
• Usted puede ajustar la intensidad de la regulación para que sus
tostadas salgan como usted desee. Los niveles de la regulación
electrónica van del 1 al 7. Gire el regulador electrónico de la
potencia para incrementar la intensidad.
• Si desea interrumpir el proceso, presione el otón de parada
(“CANCEL”)
• Si desea recalentar pan, presione el otón de recalentamiento
(“REHEAT”)
• Si desea descongelar pan, presione el otón descongelación
(“DEFROST”)
• Si desea recalentar " agels" (dulce americano), presione so re el

• En la ase del tostador hay 4 pestañas que sirven para recoger
el ca le. Cuando usted guarde su tostador enrolle el ca le
alrededor del aparato.
CONSEJOS ÚTILES
• Si las piezas de pan tostado son demasiado pequeños para ser
recogidos fácilmente de la tostadora, simplemente levante el
mango del pan a su posición más alta (“High-lift” función), para
levantar el carril y coger el pan tostado. Si todavía no es
accesi le, por favor, utilice pinzas finas resistentes al calor, para
recoger el pan de la ranura.
• NO toque las partes metálicas con la mano, ya que estarán
calientes!
• Para tartas de pop o gofres congelados, por favor, siga las
instrucciones de la caja.
• NO tostar alimentos, distintas de pan, por los que no se diga
específicamente que se pueden tostar en tostadoras de ranura.
• Si se atasca la tostadora, puede ser simplemente que el pan sea
demasiado grueso. Quítelo de la tostadora y córtelo mas fino.
• Las segundas o terceras tostadas pueden salir más oscuras, es
normal. En caso de tostado sucesivo, si queremos tostadas
como las primeras ha rá que ajustar el nivel de tostado para
que las tostadas salgan como las primeras.
LIMPIEZA Y MANTENIMIENTO
• Desenchufe el aparato y déjalo enfriar antes de limpiarlo.
• Para una mejor utilización, quitar con frecuencia la miga de pan
del tostador (Retire la andeja (9) situada en el lateral del
tostador) (FIG. 2)
• ¡Cuidado! Es muy importante vaciar la bandeja recogemigas
regularmente. Las migas que han acumulado en el tostador
través se quemen y el aparato quizás se incendie.
• Limpie las partes exteriores con un paño humedecido. No use
productos ni materiales a rasivos como estropajos ya que
pueden dañar el aca ado de su aparato.
• Para limpiar el cristal interior, asegúrese de que la andeja de

CONSIGNES DE SECURITE
Pour utiliser un appareil électrique, des précautions élémentaires
sont à respecter, telles que celles énumérées ci-dessous :

15. En raison de risques d’incendie, d’électrocution ou de lessure,
n'introduisez pas d’ustensiles de cuisine ni d’aliments de taille
excessive dans l'appareil.
16. Pour écarter les risques d’incendie pendant le fonctionnement

19. N’utilisez pas cet appareil pour la décongélation d’aliments
(autres que du pain) et n’insérez que des tranches de pain non-

CONSIGNES CONCERNANT LE CORDON
Le cordon d’alimentation de l’appareil est un cordon de type court,
et ce afin de diminuer les risques d’accidents (chute si vous marchez
sur le cordon...). Vous pouvez toutefois utiliser une rallonge si
nécessaire mais:
• Assurez-vous que l'ampérage de la rallonge soit égal ou
supérieur à celui de l'appareil. Une rallonge avec un
ampérage inférieur à celui de l'appareil risquerait de
surchauffer et de rûler.
• La rallonge ne doit pas pendre du plan de travail ou de la
ta le afin d'éviter que les enfants ne le tirent ou tré uchent.
