CAUTION: the bread carriage handle will not stay
down if the appliance is not plugged in!
BEFORE USING THE TOASTER FOR THE FIRST TI E
In or er to eliminate any manufacturing resi ues, operate the toaster
a couple of times without brea with the browning control selector
on a me ium power level. Some smoke might escape.
OPERATION
• Before using your appliance for the first time, check if it is clean
(see “Maintenance an cleaning”) as it comes into irect
contact with brea . Check if any object has fallen into the slot.
• In the first time, connect the appliance only to a mains earthe
wall socket.
• Place the brea slices in the slot (for the French brea , cut a loaf
shorter than the slot, then cut it in two pieces along its length.).
Your appliance is provi e to receive French brea , but also
pieces of toast or other brea slices if their thickness an their
length are shorter than the one of the slot.
• Press own the brea carriage han le until it stops (in the same
time, the gri insi e the slot will tighten aroun the brea in or er
to keep it away from the heating wires). Then release the pressure
an the han le will stay in the lower position, which means that
the heating process has begun. If the han le comes up
imme iately, check if the appliance is plugge in as it blocks
when the unit is plugge in.
• You can a just the browning intensity to obtain a more or less
toaste brea by positioning the browning control selector to
one of the egrees marke from 1 to 9. Therefore you only have
to turn clockwise to increase the intensity, an anticlockwise to
ecrease it. The higher the number is, the more toaste the
brea will be.
• During the functioning, if you think that the brea is toaste
enough or for another reason, you can break the heating
process, simply by pressing the cancel button.
